Reaccuring Dream about Ex

Hi everyone! This is my first post here!

Ok so my first love and I split up like 10 years ago. Every since then I have dreams about him, not like reliving the past, but he will just be there, as a friend or whatever.

A little back story is that we had an explosive relationship, I would compare it to a bipolar person. Since him I have never had that same spark (fireworks actually) with anyone else. I am now married and have a family and would never want the type of relationship we had again.

Anyways, he has gotten into a lot of trouble over the past 10 years, and every time he hits a hard spot I have numerous dreams about him. Some times I even know what happened before someone tells me. I will actually dream that he tells me and we talk about it. Anyone else have this happen to them? In a way it is like he is my soul mate just not my life mate.

My husband has no idea about this. Now my ex is in prison and apparently getting into a lot of trouble in there too. I have been having dreams about him constantly since Christmas and after talking to his sister (we still have a friendship) I found that out.

I don't know whether my dreams are trying to tell me something or if I should try to redirect them and attempt to get them to stop.
