Benevolent Presence?

I first noticed it when I was in my late teens. He is always there. It feels like a very masculine presence, behind me, bigger and taller than I am. I have toyed with the idea that it's just imagination, but I honestly don't believe that it is. Others around me have confirmed that they, too, sense a presence there. I can occasionally get vague impressions of various emotional states; sometimes disapproval, often comfort when I'm feeling disappointed or lone. Things like that.

I should also mention that it coincides with the feeling I've had since I was fourteen; the strong compulsion to go north, that there's something I'm meant to be doing, and in order to do it I must go north. It's extremely frustrating to have this compulsion, but not know the details or the reason.

These two subjects are intertwined; when I think about going north, the intensity of the presence with me increases, as though he's trying to get my attention.

Now, before anyone suggests it, I'm going to say right out that I am not remotely open to the - excuse my rudeness - laughable idea of a single omnipotent, omniscient being. My own views on religion and spirituality are, I think, largely irrelevant to this discussion. If it's pointed out that this isn't the case, then I may be convinced to discuss it briefly.

Anyway, does anyone have anything helpful and/or interesting to say about this ongoing experience?

Have you considered going north?

Of course. I've even tried it a couple of times. Unfortunately, this idea that's stuck in my head is no more specific than that. Just north. Seattle felt wrong, Canada didn't work out, etc. I don't have the resources to just guess and check like that. I'm thinking that I could try taking a car, heading north, and just seeing what happens, but I don't have a car or any friends indulgent enough to let me use theirs for this. It would be a fairly expensive endeavour, I imagine, and I'm not exactly swimming in cash.

Yeah, unless you have car there isn't much you can do. Maybe it is some sort of spirit guide. I don't know much about that sort of thing but plenty of people here do know. Maybe some meditation would give you a clearer idea.

It is kind of funny you would mention God, first because I wouldn't think He would do that sort of thing and secondly because when I meditate on God I always get the odd impression He is in the north. That is to say, if someone were to say to me "point to God" I would point north. Jesus would be west. I have no explanation for why I think that.

Timing is everything. When the time is right you will find yourself going North. Something will happen to bring this about. Money will either be there for you to do this, or it won't be involved at all. Something will occur to take you North. That is if it is truly meant to be.
This could be a Guardian Spirit; it could be a Spirit "twin"; it could be someone who is deceased but is enlightened and has come back to the Earth sphere to guide, help and assist others. Or it could be your own Higher Self.
He sounds like a decent dude, whoever he is...
