So I had a strange dream last night, and was wondering if anyone could help me gain any insight into whether it had any meaning or not, I do believe that all dreams carry some subconscious meaning, but I don't necessarily agree with the online interpretations I used to look up in the past. My grandfather had died in the dream I believe (he is older and feeble, but still kicking), and I was going to visit some relatives of mine, due to this occurence. There was a wasps' nest somewhere near my car, and we (me and someone else in my car, or a relative who came up to my car) tried to get rid of it, but all the wasps started swarming! I ran out of my car and ran away, in the process of getting ran away, I got stung by one wasp. I remember feeling the stinging pain of the sting, that feeling was very very real to me, and quite vivid, I was stung on my arm (I was stung by a bee when I was a kid near the same spot). On the same arm, I had 3 scratches, similar to a cat's scratch, but bigger and deeper. I poured some peroxide on it, and it made bubbles as if it were cleaning the wound. The peroxide however kept bubbling for an extremely long amount of time, as if the wound was super dirty, when I showed it to someone, they were alarmed. That is the dream, I do notice some correlation between the location of the wasp sting, and the bee sting I suffered when I was a kid, about 7 or 8. So I would take a leap and guess that this has something to do with a childhood memory. The wound that I had after the sting, but was not caused by the sting could show that something did not heal?? But that is as far as I could interpret. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks! |

Hi, seems a very personal one, so there are only vague assumptions from which on there are interpretations possible. shoots in the air: - are you hiding emotions from others? - do you think often of the things you can achieve, but don't go to your full potential and asking what it could be? - Do others seemingly influence you, so that you cannot develop yourself the way you want? - do you have "rational traits", that keep you back from more loving relationships? - Do you miss something from you childhood, maybe something emotionally/mentally? ~sb |

...thanks alot jakka Its odd that I should have this dream especially since other posts never translate to my dreams. I've never been stung by a wasp in real life, only a minor bee sting on my hand when I was 14. In the dream I had family visiting and my patio door was left open. I thought only one wasp got in but there were actually several. I got stung only on my face after trying to shoo them out the door. The resulting swelling was quick and large. I inspected the various swelling because it looked like a tiny cut in each spot. Suddenly my dad was there as well, fixing stuff around my house for me and I woke up shortly thereafter. Interesting! I came across this about wasps: In some African traditions, the wasp is a symbol of evolution, and control over our life circumstances. Some Native American Indian tribal myth inidcates the wasp as the creator of the earth, and was a symbol of order, organization as well as productivity. Ancient European lore recognizes the wasp as big part in pollination. Here the wasp is symbolic of fertility as this genre of earth-based believers honored the wasp for its role in continuation of certain plants and flowers. The prime season of the wasp is spring, and so it is symbolic of new beginnings, and starting new projects. The wasp is very social, and has special means of communication with its family. When the wasp appears in our lives it is a message for us to consider our own methods of communication. The wasp might be a sign that we may need to express ourselves more clearly. Because the wasp is symbolic of communication, order and productivity, those who encounter the wasp may ask themselves: * “Are all my affairs in order?” * “Am I aligning myself with my goals?” * “Am I procrastinating about something?” * “Am I keeping myself from reaching my highest potential?” * “Am I allowing my progress to be held back by others?” Those with the wasp as their totem may learn more by asking these questions of themselves, and calling upon the wasp for more clarification too. Wasps are perfect totems for those of us who need a bit of organized focus, and assistance with assertive communication. The wasp can also help in areas of building, whether it be a new home, or building on a dream – the wasp is a master architect and can guide you with the planning of any building project you have in mind.
