Figures in my room at night

Wanted some opinions on my seeing a figure in the night last night. This has happened about 5 times now, but I was so freaked out last night it's motivated me to make a thread! Apologies for rambling a bit.

Couldn't get to sleep last night so I put on a sleep cd. 2 mins in I hear someone shout "Lisa!" .. assume it's my grandad because I'm staying with him at the moment. Well I went to see what he wanted and he was asleep. There was nobody else around.
I did figure I was hearing things but perhaps that spooked me nonetheless.
So then waking up in the morning about 6:30, it was still pitch black, I was awoken by this horrid noise like a scream (but which I now think was the neighbours alarm?) and I immediately see a figure in the room. It's on my bed. I let out a massive fearful gasp, and my mind thinks "omg there's a man in my room". It disappeared immediately so that was a massive relief that nobody was in my room... but then I started thinking what if it was a ghost? My logic tells me it was my eyes, not having adjusted to the dark. But a small part of me thinks "what if?". I don't necessarily believe in ghosts, but I am open minded... some people have been SO convinced by their experiences that it makes me think maybe it's possible.
The thing is it's happened about 5 times now, but in 2 different houses. The fact it happened in my mum's and grandad's house makes me think yeah it's definitely not a ghost and it's just my eyes (but why is it happening now and never before in my life? it's not like I go to bed thinking about this stuff ... except last night I WAS already spooked so I may have brought it on).
One time I saw the figure so clearly that I could see what she was wearing (old fashioned clothes including a bonnet I think), and it didn't seem like one of those "seeing shadows in the dark and thinking it's a ghost" things.

I want to say "my mind is just making me see things" but I can't be SURE. It seems really weird, it feels as though it's something more but maybe that's because I'm scared and I'm fuelling it somehow? But the other times I have seen things I have just forgotten about it afterwards and not worried. This is the first time it's bothered me this much & the first time I have talked about it.
My logic is also telling me, though, that if I could see ghosts why would I only be seeing them for a split second as I wake up? What would be the reason to be able to see them in that split second?

Anybody have an opinion?

I realise posting it here in the paranormal forum will probably create more replies about it being ghosts but if possible I would appreciate any perspective and honestly I didn't know where to post this for the 'best' response. Maybe this is the best forum afterall because you can tell me if this sounds like a ghosty/spirit thing or if it's not like one of those experiences at all.

Since no one is commenting on my thread about the same topic Early Morning OBE and Visitor, I might as well comment on your thread....

I've had all day to think about it, and I've concluded that since everything in my world is a projection of my mind, my early morning visitor is too. I've been reading 'Seth Speaks' recently so it's kind of right on time as a synchronicity. I refuse to be afraid!

but if everything in your world is a projection of your mind, isn't Leesah a projection of your mind too? And you are still talking to her... Why not to your projection of a ghost? Well, I can imagine that Leesah is probably a much more attractive projection

Leesah, spirits are usually attached to people, although they do attach to places as well. If you don't want scary spirits (angry, confused) around you, you have to work on raising your vibration and protect yourself. The easiest way for me to do this is to cover myself in white light before I go to bed, pray, meditate, listen to angel inspired music, and try to live in a constant state of grace, gratitude, and unconditional love. I have seen shadowy figures standing near my bed off and on for years now. In the beginning, I too dismissed them as some sort of hallucinatory leftover baggage from my dreams. After several years of research into spiritual/paranormal subjects however, I have to come to believe that what I saw were actual spirits. And ultimately, like me, you will have to decide how best to interpret what you saw.

I think, sometimes it must be happening with people like you. Spirit senses that they can share their things with you, they knew if you get fearful you will give away your energy to them and then they can solve their problem. This doesn't relate to every entities. Not for bad ones.
