I am not sure how to explain this, but reading here and thinking about the universe and life in general I am starting to change my believes about the paranormal. I have always been raised as a down to earth person, the mindset of 'if I haven't seen it, its not true'. The weird part is that I am starting to feel like there's more to this world than my logical brain can explain. Its a gut feeling that I can't explain, it feels twisted like my rational mind is fighting with my subconstious or something. It doesn't really make sense to me, paranormal/psychic/readings etc. are nothing but idiots who just don't understand reality. And now I'm feeling like I'm the one that doesn't understand reality. Reading a lot of PD lately I 'discovered' that what the masses are doing is most of the time blatantly 'wrong' (not immediatley wrong but not the best thing to do if that makes sense). I knew this deep inside already, but if the masses think the paranormal doesn't exist might it be the other way around perhaps? This is really shaking the basis under my feet, and its feeling weird. But the idea that maybe there is more to this world than meets the eye is also comforting. There's more to discover than my physical boundaries, its weird that a lot of successvol people are using intention-manifestation to a extend. Even though in reality if there's nothing more it really doesn't make that much sense, it shouldn't work this well if there isn't another force besides your subconscious. My thoughts are all over the place right now, and I'm quite confused. I'm excited though that if there IS more to this world than I can see right now that means I can go on a 'magical' journey and maybe discover things about myself I never thought possible. I'm going to start focusing more on lucid dreaming now, it can still be explained with regular science so to say but it feels a bit on the edge. I'm still not believing in the paranormal, and I don't think anyone can convince me of this. But I can recognize now that it might be possible, and to know I need to take a journey myself. I think the feeling I have right now is best explained as standing on a corner, I can clearly see the 'normal path in front of me. The one of college--job--wife/kids--retirement--death and there's this corner on my right and I can't really see whats in that path. I've been told by some people that there's a lot to discover there but I can't see it myself, so now I'm standing on that crossroad and I just decided to take a turn to my right to see whats there. Its frightening because its like nothing I experienced before and the path ahead isn't very clear at all. This is basically reflected in everything of my life, my viewpoints on whats possible and my own capabilities are slowly changing. I am changing my habits and I'm slowly dropping limiting believes and habits. Pushing myself beyond my (small) comfort zone is scary, but it feels good at the same time... Just rambling now, my thoughts are all over the place... I am not sure why I'm posting this, I just felt a really strong urge to share this... |

Hi Freelancer, I understand what you're saying. When you've been logical all your life, it's difficult to reconcile some things that don't seem logical. I think if you read more of Steve's articles it gets easier because he's so very logical. That's what's so cool about him...he's a computer programmer who also gets all this crazy paranormal stuff! |

Logic is one of the ways to see all of your denials. People who are used to using their mind to problem-solve have leverage over those that don't. The 'problem' we all have is born out of the mind. Trying to solve it with the heart won't work. You either have to bonk your head on a rock and magically get it or parse out what the mind is doing behind the scenes.

I was the same way. I loved reading about it but never believed it until after a mental breakdown I lost all logic and the most amazing things happened to me. Now I live by these three simple words - logic is overrated.

| Yeah I logic is overrated in a way, but in a way a lot of these 'paranormal' things also make sense in a logical way. If the world is subjective and not objective than suddenly a lot of pieces start to fall into place, not to mention that the scientific world is also starting to turn in this regard (if I remember correctly there have been a few articles published about everything being connected)...

Ahhhhhh Freelancer.. (take a deep breath of fresh air here), I'm not surprised in the slightest to read your post. You're not the only one suddenly realizing that things aren't as simple as most used to believe. You're not the only one that is starting to branch out and take those first baby steps to a brand new awakening. We're (the human race) is about to make a big leap in what we believe and what we can see and hear. It's all natural and has been planned. Just sit back and watch. You'll see people all over the world making huge changes in the way they think and I'll be the first to say, "Welcome a'board hun!" Take your time, go at your own pace. A whole new world awaits and it's most enlightening and rewarding! |

Is asking for proof to much at this point? Anyway I'm starting to believe more and more in all of this. Today I tried a little exercise in creating a 'psi ball', I ended up heating up a part of my body (just below the ribs in the middle so to say) quite a lot. The strange part was that my head or whatever where still cool (by touching it) but that part was quite hot. Meh I guess I made some progress, also made it a bit easier to believe some other things. Lets hope my lucid dreaming experiment will give me even more clarity, getting excited at this point and not just scared and confused.

Oh Look, you're jumping on board quite nicely! Lovin that hun. A PSI Ball. Now here's where the circle of enlightment is taking place. I've never looked into the meaning of PSI balls. You just enlightened me! lol Care to enlighten us on the purspose of creating PSI Balls? I always find it a good idea to post back up information to the topic you bring up as it shares knowledge with other browsers and allows the thread to become something to learn from as apposed to just a conversation. ha! Now I look for the purpose and i've created energy and watched energy for years and you just made me look into the purpose of it! See how that works? We all help eachother. Have fun dear. |

[QUOTE=Freelancer;54399]haha glad to be on board ! Is asking for proof to much at this point? QUOTE] Woops. Fogot to comment on this question and I have a very important answer for you. When one has embarked on their path to enlightment, do not find it odd or dissapointing when proof doesn't come easily or cross your path as quickly as you'd like. Remember that as a human race, we are tought to see and feel with our physical senses. (Our eyes, ears, nose and mouth, and touch) The psychic, spiritual and paranormal realms are all seen from within. Remember all of these realms are real as apposed to majority's thoughts on the matter. As one embarks, they will enter a very personal path that will include self knowledge, self bettering and growth. When we 'look' for proof, it never fails that we will have a hard time getting it or when we look for a specific ability to come our way, it may not come as quickly as we'd like. That is okay. It will come with time and one will have to learn to 'look' in a much different way than they've done their entire life. - I know this all to well. As the psychic and paranormal realm were a very natural and daily experience of mine up until my early 20's; I decided to block it all as I didn't understand what I had been experiencing and seeing my whole life and as the abilities grew immensly, I just simply put, got scared! Well as many psychics and individuals will tell you that have tried to cut connection with it, you will feel a pull to go back to your roots. Just as you have a pull to start looking into things, I too felt like I had cut off a huge part of myself and felt more lost than ever. I did a lot of research and finally found out that I wasn't crazy, I was normal and enlightened and I should be happy. So, there I started re-opening what I had closed. That is not an easy feat my dear! I tought myself to close a door for 2 straight years and have now re-opened it and it has started flowing freely once again but not as freely as I'd like and that is why we are all on a path. A path to grow and learn. Take your time, continue to research at your own pace just as you are doing. Follow what guides you and what interests you. Always remember to experience everything for the better and good of your personal growth. As long as you keep that in mind, you will advance just fine. I like to think of us as a different kind of scientist. We research what can't be seen but is all very very realm. Speaking of, I have a beautiful list of signs you are becoming more enlightened and they aren't typically what you would assume. I will go get them and post a new thread on it now. Take care. |

On psi balls, I just found a few websites on this and started reading along (one of my special 'abilities' is reading a lot of random things I think you managed to create one without actually trying, well done !! From what I read, to create a psi ball you need to be focused and clearing your mind of everything else. Meditation seems like a very good way to do this. And yeah please post the steps, I got as far that my body starts heating up because of the psi (I presume) but I can't seem to get a lot of that inside my hands. I stopped trying at some point because I didn't think it was save, overheating my body didn't seem like a great plan... The question was more of a joke but thanks for taking the time to answer it. I realize there isn't any real 'proof' that you can show to someone who's not believing in it. Its hard enough to convince a critic of something physical standing right infront of them let alone convincing a critic of the existence of something inside of them/spiritual. This all started when I became more focused on self improvement about 3 months ago, since than I changed tremendously. A few days ago I was talking with my parents about a seminar (Carl van den Velde) we attended and my mother commented that in the past few month's I changed a lot for the better. So I guess its having its effect, I still have a couple of challenges I have to deal with and its going to be a life long journey. I'm just glad I started rolling now... Edit; You can edit CFPurpose Double edit; I stumbled on this free e-book about learning meditation; Mindfulness In Plain English I'm at chapter 5, so far this seems like a good way to help me on my path to discovery of the truth. What I especially like about this particular one is that the focus is about finding out yourself how the world functions. The idea isn't telling you what to believe, but to allow you to discover how the world works without your ego interrupting. Its interesting though that I searched for meditation before but I never really started, its interesting because I found it at this time in my development. I'm feeling like I'm at a crossroad, I'm not accepting 'reality' anymore as most people view it but questioning everything. And this books is giving me a tool to do this, hell I might become enlightened eventually! Last edited by Freelancer; 03-27-2007 at 04:27 PM. |

Freelancer; Got another book for ya. I love it! I skim through it and jump around all the time but I've read it from front to back. Bill Messett's - "Awakening the Soul". It's a 3 part series. This is book 3. Mr Messett actually worked backwords in his series. It has really been a joy to read and have close at hand. It was the first real item that helped me to get in touch with my inner soul and helped me open up things within in myself that I didn't even know existed. Very cool book. I recommend it for all looking to advance spiritually & within the psychic realm. |

I also want to work through the ebook I talked about in my last post, the way its written really suits my personality. And on top of that I'm also trying to figure out lucid dreaming. Plus a bit of psi powers although thats more of 'whey fun lets try' instead of 'hmm interesting lets give it a serious shot'. So for now I'm quite busy, but I'll check out that book in the future. Which reminds me, need to add this thread to favorites so I can check back. Perhaps I'll look back nostalgic in a year or 2 about how clueless I am right now. Ps Thanks for your support CTPurpose, I appreciate it.

To expand your knowledge into the paranormal is not the sacrifice of all logic or your concepts of the paranormal. To ask for proof is to show intelligent acceptance not blind faith - it is how we will one day understand all things paranormal. These are the qualities of any good scientist, including parapsychologists. Your questioning mind and spirit denotes the true soul of an explorer. Shine on bold adventurer.
