how to identify the kind of spirit that's attached to my 3 year old

ok, first off, I'm not new to the paranormal. I've had a certain gift since I was a child. I've been held down 2 different times, (different places, and time periods) I'm a local paranormal investigator, have seen ghosts, felt ghost's and at times knew their stories before any research was done. I'm no amateur when it comes to this kind of stuff, I've seen, and experienced much more. I speak of this so you will know where I stand, in hopes somebody relates to my story and can help me out in my quest. Here goes.....
I previously was babysitting my godson(the closest I will ever be to having my own child is him) at my b.f. house. I have been to her place countless times before this, spent the night, hung out for hours,etc..Never, ever have I felt any paranormal activity, spirits, ghost etc...throughout these times, till the night I babysitted as mentioned.
This was the first time that i've babysitted my godson at this house. He lives with his maternal mother, and my b.f gets him bi-weekly. I've visited him at my b.f. place, but never watched him overnight.
Nothing felt different all evening, and about 2 hours into our evening, I began suddenly nodding off. We would be wrestling around and next thing I knew, I was popping my head up, like one does when they doze off for a second. I hadn't been tired,felt tired, and it was only like 9pm ish...This went on and off for the next hour and a half, until I just gave in and decided it was time for us to turn in. I put my godson to bed( his bed is a few feet from the one I laid in) As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was asleep. I remember waking up a couple times and glancing over at my godson, the first time i woke up i saw that he would be talking to his elmo doll, turning it's head to look at me, then converse more with it some more before hugging it close. The second time, it seemed as though he was whispering into it's ear(elmo doll). I fell back to sleep for what seemed a short time, when I felt something like an animal, on my bed, approaching me from behind. I felt it was an animal because I remember feeling the pressure of 4 feet, coming towards me. This was a big animal I thought, then all of a sudden it jumped on top of me and held me down. I remember calling out to my godson,but no sound was coming out. I felt scared, horrofied and utterly helpless. When my voice finally came back, it startled me(the sound of it) and I looked up at my godson and remember seeing him staring at me. Next thing I know, I'm being awaken by my b.f. announcing she was home, i got out of bed and feeling somewhat angry, I uncharacteristically lashed out at her and then felt the need to flee her house as quickly as possible.
Now, what I need help with, is finding out what kind of animal spirit was on top of me, and conversing with my godson. Oh i almost forgot...3 days later my b.f. called wanting to discuss what the heck happened that night, and ask my advice concerning what happened that next day. During naptime my godson was having a bad dream, he kept saying no, and i don't want to, and no momma..my b.f woke him up and he automatically covered his eyes with tightly formed fist and was "cranky". He wouldn't uncover them and was crying, no matter what my b.f. tried to do to console him, it wasn't working. She took him outside in the yard for a bit. Asked him lovingly "what's wrong baby, can you tell momma" and he would just keep those firm gripped fists to his eyes, and say to her no....no momma, like he didn't want to open his eyes..it wasn't until she put him in her car and was going to go for a ride, did he very quickly remove his hands and grab her by the kneck and scream i hate you...( in a deeper voice than his natural)...this startled and caught her off guard, she grasped his hands, then he kicked her hard. You would have to know this boy, to understand that this isn't at all like him. He's never lashed out like that, nor needed to be consoled as he had. My friend broke down in tears when she told me the story, because this has never happened before. He's not an angry kid. He totally loves both his parents..
So again, I need help identifying this spirit so I can do what's necessary in order to protect my godson. Also recently, he has been getting scratched by what he said was the animals scratched me,obvious claw marks, and more than once. Coincidence? So anybody in this forum able to help? I don't need people trying to explain what happened in a sense that it was all normal, I know what I know from exp. I need help.I don't want whatever it is to feed of off my child or continue it's rein of terror on him. My godson is 3 1/2 years old. Thank you

Wow I wish I could help. I have no idea; at first I was hoping it was as simple as my 3 year old daughter. My mom hangs around her and when we start to have major issues, I just tell mom to please leave her alone for a bit so she can take a nap.. that usually works. I have no clue how to handle an animal spirit. Is there maybe a large dog that his mom had as a pet that passed on? could it be trying to protect/play with him? I am really not sure but that just came across. Maybe you could just try talking with it. I wish I had a quick answer for you as anything like this is concerning let alone when there is a child involved.

Welcome to the forum . You know some kind of critter is there , and what you have said you have dealt with paranormal things before. So you go back better prepaired this time . My best guess would be a big dog , but I was not there . A dog may just think it is protecting a little boy , or it could be something differnt . desert rat

Actually, that was my first intuition,(once I got home and thought about it) the animal might be protecting him. What changed my direction in thinking was, I started trying to put all the "game" pieces together, ie..all the dogs in his imediate life, which ones seemed protective, which passed on....Then, how I felt during and after the whole evenings events. Letting it rest, for a bit so I could maybe get a better idea or feeling. Then my b.f. told me about his lashing out at her. As well as his rocky homelife. A haven for negative energy!!! In conclusion, the only dog out of the three, was my pit bull puppy, and she was very protective of my godson( i lived there for a little while) they slept together in his lil bed, cuddled and all that. However, I moved into a tiny place so shamus(dog) went to live with a retired couple out in the country..lot's of running room!! For the longest time, my g.son would ask where's shamus, to his mom, when I came over etc. Broke my heart. To mu knowledge shamus is still alive. He had a dog pass on last year, but it was old and didn't play much, just laid around alot. So that began my ruling out the protection theory. Plus, I have exp. with the paranormal, spirits, ghosts, and the like. I'm pretty good at feeling their intentions or energy. So for me to lash out at my b.f. upon leaving, leads me to question why my anger? Oh and my nodding off to sleep, while he and I were playing, is uncharacteristic of me as well.
All this along with the fact I know his mother has anger all inside her being. She doesn't so much take it out on him, maybe yelling or flying off the handlea time or 2, never hitting him...NEVER...But as for the boyfriend who lives with her, she explodes on him. I'm pretty sure if he provoked her, she'd lash out at him!!
Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's ever ok to yell at kids, etc....I just know that if and when she ever does, it few and far between.
I thought if I could find out what kind of animal it was, or if it was a pspirit manifesting as an animal, I would have a better plan of strategy. lol....
