Default Fairy Wing ?

Has anyone ever heard of someone finding a fairy wing?
My friend told me her young sister found one! In a pond at their local park. but that it broke on the way home. I did not get to examine it but if this is real it is incredible..
anyone heard of children , or anyone else ,,haha,, being gifted with such radical finds? This is amazing and heartwarming to even think of.
And also what do you think it means? She was having a very emotionally rough day when her sister found this.

It could have been a dragonfly wing...or any number of insects in the world. Honestly, I think if we could see real faeries, they might not look the way we imagine them to...

There's much folklore about faeries, some stories are about lovely happy wonderful beings, others believed they where inter dimensional creatures that stole your children and were blood thirsty.

When humans started finding and coming across actual stone age weapons, arrow heads, axe heads and so on, not knowing what they where, they assumed dragon teeth and fairy wings, which exacerbated the myths.

No wings here, but a neat coincidence. Years ago, on a radio show, I listened to a caller tell of her daughter having seen 'fairies', describing them as colorful balls of light. Two days later, at a family reunion, I overhear my little niece talking about having seen water fairies. I playfully asked her what they looked like - yep, colorful balls of light.

Aye, I know some lore of the fair folk.
Some of it is down-right scary.
It's said that they left our plane of existence long ago.
I think the "fairies" like tinkerbell and such, are grossly simplified versions of what they might have been. The holloween version of such things are rampent throughout our culture.

It has been said they take children and replace them with changelings, have advanced methods of communication and travel, and can fool a person's eyes with "glamour".
There's an old saying on the Fay magic that chimes;
"Could make a ladye seem a knight
A nutshell seem a gilded barge
A sheeling seem a palace large
And youth seem age and age seem youth
All was delusion, nought was truth."

In short, a faery could be any size, shape or form. Tricky boogers if'n ya ask me. And crafty as the devil from the sound of it. I doubt they'd leave body parts laying around. lol

Yes, it would be folly to assume they are all good and sweet beings of light. Faeries are mischevious by nature, and like to play tricks on people...for their own amusement.

I've never seen them, but I have communed with them, and they're awesome. They cannot be fooled though, and they are at war with humans for what we have done to the planet.

I'm a pretty logical person though I like to think Im open minded also, my horizons have never extended to the belief in faeries.

Elucidate you have communed with them?

How far back do the tales actually go? Does anyone know?

Well, I never believed in them either. Believe me, I don't go around telling people about this, as I know I'd get locked up in the loony bin, or ridiculed into suicide...but nevertheless, they are real. They exist outside our finite minds of logic and rationalism. It's a matter of being open to it really...to the possibility at least.

I don't know how far back the tales go...as far back as people have been telling tales I'd imagine.

Elucidate, they don't say "away with the fairies" for nothing. They can apparently, make you go mad. There was a good article in The Fortean Times a few years ago on them.

I can understand that.

There are stories of them playing tricks on unaware men or women in the forest, trying to find their way back to civilisation, and just running around in circles, not getting anywhere. They can make the person see the way and then once they start on the path, they end up right back where they started...which can send anyone over the bend before too long. To them it's just fun and games toying with us.

Oh there are Faeries all right. But they don't leave their wings in ponds.
I have a feeling that might have been a dragonfly or damselfly wing. They are just as magnificent!
I have seen a Faerie Being. But I saw it out-of-body, not physically. It was alive, and real, silent but responsive. But not physically tangible in this World.
