What does it mean when dating back about 6 or so weeks I've had a recurring dream about an ex partner and I? I've had the dream 4 times now. We are always together, either just spending time or we are intimate. In the dream I am aware of his current partner but we are indifferent. I wake feeling sick about it. I don't think about him much in my waking life and I am quite sure after almost a year I have dealt with my issue from the relationship and its breakup. I don't want him back either by the way.. Someone once told me that if you dream frequently about another without ever usually giving them thought it can be that they are actually thinking a lot about you and it can affect your dreams. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm interested in any points of view! |

Well, sometimes my ex pops up in my dreams (although there's a lot from my experience with her that still brings me down so she's on my mind at other times). However, most of the dreams had washed away, but she came up in one last month and then suddenly and strangely contacted me (I also started obtaining this strange feeling she would days beforehand). That all died down, but, over a month later, she then popped up in another dream (recent) and she randomly contacted me again. I'm not at all saying that this is definitely what is going to happen to you because I cannot know something like that, but this has happened to me as of lately and a few times in the past, so it certainly has me wondering about these dreams now. |

When my ex contacted me, I wondered about the dreams and what they all meant. Were they a coincidence? Were they predictions? Did I manifest all of it? I wondered whether she could have been experiencing strong thoughts about me and therefore came into my dream, prior to contacting me. At the same time, I wondered whether my dream of her put me into her head and that was the cause of it. It's hard to say, but looking back on it now I don't think coincidence is the right word. I do think, one way or another, the dream was behind something or knew something before it happened. She even contacted me in such a random way, simply writing: 'Do you hate me?' She isn't all there, to be honest, but it was so strange to me like a higher energy or feeling reached her from me. Outside of the dreams, can you sense anything about your ex? Do you think it's possible he could contact you soon for any particular reason? Last edited by Midwinter Mist; 09-19-2010 at 09:00 AM. | |

Yeah, such a thing sounds all too familiar to me. My own ex would spontaneously contact to enquire about me and start an argument. She likes to tell me I have problems and that she is wonderfully normal in a wonderful life, which doesn't explain why she would contact me with strange questions, prior to lecturing and insulting me for no apparent reason (she thinks she's some sort of doctor and that I need help for some unknown reason, but I think she just has her own problems and wants to take them out on me). It makes me uncomfortable when I dream of her now and it's the same with my ex prior to her, who also had a very strange way of thinking and also came up in a small number of dreams before contacting me, although I recall the gap between the dream and her contacting me being a bit larger. What is crazy to think about is the fact these could be mutual dreams for all we know. |

| I don't regularly remember my dreams, but I've been trying to consciously work on that, since I realized I frequently dream with my best friend. She is able to choose people to dream with, and uses it to reinforce bonds, or show people things she needs them to see that she can show them no other way. She says that most people are too dark and scary in their dreams. There are only two of us that she dreams with regularly. She says I call to her. Even when she is dreaming with someone else I will pull her towards me, even dragging other people she is dreaming with to my dream. We are very close, and our families joke that we are soul mates. We wear the same colored clothes most days (no matter which one got up and dressed first), and I've been known to pick up dry cleaning she hadn't told me was there, or needed. I would guess that the ex's are still a link your mind can easily find when you are sleeping. If they are thinking about you, it will strengthen that link, or cause vibration that makes you look there. You should ask them if they dreamed about you |

When we open up to someone and let them in, there is always a bond. It takes a lot to completely sever it. Our relationship with that person on an everyday level might be unworkable for various reasons, but we did once share what we thought was love. That goes quite deep. Time and other experiences wear away at that quite a lot, but there's still a sort of bond, deep down. Once in a blue moon I get an astral visit from an ex (we did a lot of inner work together, mutual dreaming, astral projection...but I couldn't get my head around some of the work, and in many ways we were too different. After much confusion, and things I found hard to understand, I had to leave.) But he comes just to kind of "say hello" (or whatever....see how I am?) There is something in that relationship I have to admit that will last forever. In my case, if I dream of him I know it is objective, because of the level we worked. |
