Default What am I seeing ? (pressing my eyeballs)

Hi,

do you know this little phenomen?

When you press with both your ball of hand against the closed eyes, you see there are colors and shapes.

Try it, but don't hurt yourself

I do it since im a child, its quite amusing.

There isn't everytime something to see and it does change often.

Often it is a fog of one specific colour, forming to a ball.

Sometimes its just flickering like crazy.

Example:

Yesterday i had after meditating a very obvious orange spot, which disappeared and then followed a yellow one, which looked not so round and had a whole in the middle, it was so glaring as you would look in the sun.

The evening i tried again after having some philosphical conversations with someone, there was a white and green ball, alternating.

Now there is only white and blue flickering.

So i don't want an scientific explanation, i can rationalize this by my own

Do you have this too? What is this?

Have a nice day

I know of what you speak!

lol. I believe it is a step taken by the monks who practice lucid dreaming too!
What it has been called i believe is hypnogogic imagery.

I think most people get this...

But you don't want a scientific explanation, yet you ask what this is... ok.

You posted in the psychotic section so I'll try to give you an answer you want..

The orange dots are sun Gods in the making, the yellow ones are angelic signs of hope and the foggy appearance is a sign of a pending new awakening. Hope this helps

Entities that exist in the 7th and 9th dimensions. Some in this dimension can still experience them though

@jeremy:

i see pictures and everything most of the time i close my eyes.

i looked the word up, iam not sure if it is the same, beacuse it is only shapes and colours and during wake state, i see it.

And it does seem to alter, when i do different things. Didn't analyzed a pattern, yet

@escapeplan:

ahhh, now i see, i think i got it

yes, so maybe i just want it to be no scientific, because it is so very clear, nice an concrete.

Do you really got an good scientific explanation on this ?
i can imagine it includes: retinal cones, rhodopsin and so on.
Maybe little Synesthestetic?

I normally looked on it very sober, i just wanted to hear another point of view.

No problem, If you need any more points of view just let me know. There are scientific explanations but why ruin a good thing? Eyes wide shut now!

@escapeplan:

i asked if you have a good one, because i know that much is thesis

I think if you look at the sun and then you become blind - it has nothing mystical about, so i agree, dont get me wrong

But i like alternative point of views, so i thought this is the best section.

I think you did the best to show me a reasonable point of view and iam glad you did

I'm glad you posted this. Whatever it is, it's cool! I tried it and the first few seconds nothing happened, then I saw intense imagery (abstract) like a floating block that was divided into all these little blocks within and leopard or snakeskin like patterned. The imagery is much cleared than when I try to visualize in meditation or when I just let whatever pop up in meditation.

I wonder why the body choses to respond in that way to the action of pressure on the eyes? Very interesting and neat

Be careful guys, seriously. It's not good for your eyes to press them to hard.

Mmmm what are you seeing pressing your eyeballs?

Thought long and hard about this and decided the following to be indubitably true.

Your eyelids.

Closed-eye hallucination - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

okay i think this is it.

Level 3: Patterns, motion, and color

This level is relatively easily accessible to people who use LSD, and appears to be what most people refer to as colourful visuals. However, it is also accessible to people involved in deep concentration for long periods of time.

true for me.

@jeremy: after research, i think you are right.

Found no alternative, just out of curiosity i wanted to know.

instead i found this, i think i made my peace with it

Yogi Ji explained that the experience they gave was nothing more than a physical reaction. You know what happens when you press your eyes? You see colors and lights. Add that to the hours of preparation, anticipation and expectation and the mind will see what you want. It is nothing.
