Since around last month, my ability to lucid dream has significantly increased and I've picked up the need to strive for two things in particular at this stage in time - attempt to control my physical body via my dreams (discussed in another topic) and call upon a spirit guide. I've had no experience or many thoughts about spirit guides in my past, so I wanted to make this a primary aim. We have some fields at the back of our house and I've wanted to meet the guide there. In fact, I've wanted to meet this guide during the snow (I like snow and how all is covered by what looks like a blanket of purity). So, through my days, I'd keep telling myself that I'd become lucid, head into the snowy field and call upon my spirit guide. Sometimes I'd slip out the wrong words and say 'guardian angel', prior to going back to 'spirit guide'. I managed to get into the snow a couple of times in my lucid dreams and a point came when I managed to get into the field. Prior to even calling upon a guide, there was this wolf running around with light coloured fur. I noticed it, but I was hesitant to instantly believe it was my guide and therefore I turned away and attempted to call my guide forth and then have it appear. At first, I accidentally said 'guardian', which threw my focus off. I then called for the spirit guide and nothing changed, all the while the wolf continued to hang around. However, having thrown myself off and not having a clear enough mind in the lucid world, I went on my way and was soon enough pulled back into another dream. About an hour or two ago, I was in another lucid dream. Yet again, I wanted to get myself into a snowy field, only this time I was placed in a different location, though the snow was still all around me. Then, in the distance, I could see that wolf again with its piercing eyes. My awareness was weak and guides and whatever else hadn't even entered my initial thoughts. I saw it and tried to keep out of its sight, prior to an attempt to get over a small fence - I was nervous, acknowledging the fact it could be dangerous and a dream bite could certainly hurt. It must have understood this as it decided to calmly leave. Could this be my spirit guide or something else? When I originally thought about calling upon a guide, I actually joked and was saying to somebody how crazy it would be if a guide appeared and in the form of a wolf. I like wolves and part of my surname actually has that word in it. This makes me wonder if it's all just a thought form, but I do get the feeling it will appear again, whatever the case. |

How can we answer this for you? We can't. But you can. Do YOU feel it was your spirit guide? Listen to your inner guiding voice...hold your hand over your heart and ask yourself if it was your spirit guide. What's the FIRST answer that comes to your head? Yes or no? There's your answer. |

As for whether or not I personally feel it was my spirit guide, I only think it's possible. Although I am now thinking about spirit guides more so in my life, and I'm very much open to the ideas, I still cannot sit with a 100% belief. This affects my ability to sit there, look within and just know whether or not this was a guide, but I'm hoping it's possible. What I can say for myself is that more experience in the lucid field would certainly help as I'd finally be able to establish communication with the animal. Perhaps, when that comes, I should look to receive information about somebody I can't possibly know.

Next time you see the wolf ask if it is your guide, and if it has anything to tell you. I have had animal guides appear to me (I know them as power animals, or animal totems) generally during meditation or shamanic journeys. If you had set the intention to meet your guides then I would think that is what it is. Be aware as you go through your days - you may get some confirmation there as well. Wolves may start popping up everywhere: on TV, ads, song lyrics - that kind of thing. |

It's common to get an animal as your guide apparently. I keep on getting a rather helpful Rottweiler showing up in my dreams. Makes sense in a way right, a guide dog leading you through your blind spots. |

How did it feel when you first came across that particular dog? @Gigij, So far, I haven't seen too many signs, though it has popped up here and there. For instance, I had turned to my television and immediately saw the word 'wolves' on the screen (soccer team on some sport news). I took a peak at DeviantArt and saw a few there, though that website is no stranger to art and photos of that animal. Other than that, there hasn't been many signs as of yet. I was hoping to grasp another opportunity when I slept earlier. I managed to get into the field, but it was an entirely different dream (non-lucid) with nothing about snow or guides. It felt like a different setting. I'll keep trying, of course.

When I was running away from my family, on a trip like hundreds of miles from home, I prayed to lucifer to help me escape from their clutches. After I finally found myself alone on a road near the border to another country, I decided to head east towards the mountains, so they wouldn't see me from the highway in their car. As I headed unto the field, a lot of corn everywhere basically, I heard steps behind me, and I saw this white shepherd dog, native to my country, and he followed me for a day until he was attacked by a couple of stupid villagers, and he ran away. I don't believe in spirit guides, because it's a path of darkness and other evil things that are best unnamed, but that dog who appeared basically in the middle of nowhere, stayed with me on the first harsh day. Very useful when you're at night in a field of psychotic drunk peasants, with vicious animals at their side barking everywhere near their plantations .. last thing I needed was dangerous beasts hunting me down, or insane wackos murdering me .. so having the dog bark in the night was useful at keeping intruders far far away from my location. Also being very tired, I was vulnerable when sleeping that first night, so the dog really protected me when I was out cold. Was it because of my request for help from lucifer that the dog showed up, or was it just a stray following instincts and hoping I would give it some food or company? |

Absolutely beautiful! The way I see it God, the Will of God, the Guide(s) the Teacher(s) etc...are all shapeshifters. They can inhabit any form at any time. They can be any species, not necessarily our own. They can impart wisdom from any shape. Don't try to make your Guidance conform to the concepts you may have of it. Your Guidance will come to you as your Soul needs it at the time. The Wolf has come, not only once (which might have had any meaning) but more than once. Accept that. The Wolf is your guide for now. That may change....or perhaps the Wolf will always be by you. Listen to what the Wolf has to show you, tell you, inspire you with. This may or may not be words. Be open to the possibility that the guidance will be experiential, and wordless perhaps. |

I am actually quite excited for my next lucid dream. I believe it's coming soon and I feel something is going to go down. If the wolf is still there, I believe I'll finally acknowledge it within the dream and will attempt communication. I don't know what will happen, if anything, but I do think something will and I will share an update here after it all takes place. However, I will keep as much of an open mind as I can.
