Slightly Weird Experience or Just a Coincidence??!!

About two months ago I had something strange happen. I was driving in my car with my friend in the passenger seat, and all of a sudden the hearing in my right ear only (closest to her) almost cut out, or "dropped down a level" (if that makes sense...kind of got muffled, I think I felt some pressure, kind of like when you have water in it). I then had a vibration/buzzing of sorts in that ear only (everything was normal in the left) and within a few seconds her cell phone started ringing.

Was it just coincidence or did I somehow pick up on the incoming frequencies? Is that even possible possible?

I am particularly curious because I have this habit of if i am sleeping waking up right before my phone rings or I get an incoming text. In high school I actually used to sometimes dream about the person, they would say they were calling me in the dream, then I would wake up and a few moments later they would call or text. It has only happened with people I feel connected to, I can think of three particular people, 2 of which I dated, one a close friend. With my most recent bf I would wake up all the time right before he texted me, even if the phone was placed somewhere in the room not right next to me. With the close friend I would always pick up the phone and then an incoming call or text would come from her.

Any thoughts? I have wondered maybe the incoming frequencies interact with our own electrical impulses? Sorry this is so long, I realized as typing that my initial question is likely related to the other occurrences.
