So it has been several times in the last few weeks that my hands get really hot. It's not in my palms (nothing to do with reiki energy or such), it's the other side. It gets very very hot, but it's not unpleasant. It's fairly cold still where i live so definitely weird. It's like someone is holding a hair dryer and blowing heat on them. Any idea? Has anyone ever felt something similar?

Thanks Desert! What is niaescan? I googled the hot hand thing but nothing was relevant (i don't get warm feet at the same time, i don't have lots of sodium in my diet etc etc)...so i figured it's a paranormal explaination. plus on the net people whined it was very uncomfortable. To me it is not uncomfortable it really is kind of cool to feel that crazy heat, but it's so hot i really wonder what it could be...oh and it's not during meditation, it's very random |

I have felt warmth in my heart and sometimes my hands as well as I heal. I think its normal and it often means the energy going through your hands is flowing quite well and with a lot of it too. It also maybe the other persons energy as well.

| Hiya lovely! But what if it is not in my palms, but on top of my hands (it's not if i do healing work)? I have often felt like (my guides i guess?) did reiki on me when i need a boost, but this is really physically obvious, as i said, like a hot hair dryer being held above my hands...

I sometimes feel very warm after kung fu practice. In my experience, your hands "open" first (first palms then backs), then the lower legs, the shoulders, throat, abdomen, neck and spine. This could just be because of my unique pattern of blockages, though. My personal theory would be that your internal energy is strengthening and when it does that it tends to improve your blood circulation and oxygenation in general. However, my experiences tended to feel more like a warm shower than a dry heat so your circumstances could well be entirely different. |

That's really interesting. Is there anything you're typically doing when this happens? I have experienced such before in defined areas (never the top of hands though) but only while meditating. It really does feel very hot...I remember I once had to stop meditating because a coin I had on me was beginning to feel like it was burning me. But when just going about my daily life I have never really had anything that intense happen (not allocated to such a specific body part and repeatedly, anyway). Sometimes spirits will try and communicate with people along those lines too. Though, I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. But just for shits and giggles, does it feel like the heat is coming FROM you? Or like it is being put ON you? [Your description seems to imply the later] I would concur with the energy movement being the most likely cause, especially if you just started up tajiquan. I don't normally hear of such things happening outside of practice, but I can see it as being possible. |

I have too experienced getting very hot hands whilst meditating, i remember doing it on the deck on a cool summer night and my hands felt incredibly warm compared to the air around. The way it feels is hard to describe, because it's like a two way thing, mostly coming in but also coming out as if reflected (excuse my English this is the best i can come up with to explain right now). |

weena, i am focusing on other sides of your hand and giving you cool energies. Do you use thing which radiates heat? May be, possible that you absorbed those heat energies and now it is affecting on you?? I can tell you, there must be something strange around you otherwise such strange doesn't occur. It looks total unconscious process.

| I think that as you open your energy channels and dissolve mental formations that act as obstacles to free energy flow, these types of sensations happen a lot because your 100 secret senses become more finely attuned and developed. I agree that tai chi may be helping with the mind/body/spirit unification process. I know more about hatha yoga because that has been my practice, but from the ancient writings spiritual union can be achieved through physical manipulations of the the anatomical sheath sometimes without this being the intention of the practitioner. If it IS the intention, I'm sure the effect is even greater. |

I've always "run hot" - some people don't like sitting next to me on the couch or lying close to me in bed because of it! So, my hands are always hot. I'm used to it but it always reminds me when someone new to my life remarks on the heat radiating from them! |

"Hot hands" is a term used by Germans, who were living in Russia during the 1700-1900s, for "healers." "Hot hands" were people that would often help cure the sick, or cure body ailments like back pain. The gift, it was believed, passed on in families to opposite genders. The father would pass it on to the daughter, and the mother to the son. That was what I thought this topic would be about, subsequently. Anyway, I suppose I have something similar. From time to time, my right thigh feels very hot. I used to say that I was about to spontaneously cumbust! I think there is an explanation for this, physically, that has to do with the nerves or your muscles...I can't really remember. I don't think physical and spiritual explanations have to be mutually exclusive, however. As such, Lakshyayidhi Lakshmihi would you care to elaborate on this point? Quote:

Nic., Weena said it was the back site of her hands that were getting warm . When most people sit beside a fire they hold there palms close to the fire . I think she should tape a thermometer to her hand to see if they are hotter than the rest of her . desert rat

Australia is hot but not in the south. Even when i lived close to a desert night and winters are still chilly. But i prefer the cold...on the mainland you hop in your car with a chilled bottle of water and three kilometers later the bottle is hot as. Maybe it's the same where you live then?

I have several insulated cups 48 ,52 and 128 oz . I can go to a store and fill them with pop or iced tea or , put a cold brew tea bag in water and ice . In a regular cup it might stay cold about 1/2 hour . Cold beer is a problem , Arizona has an open container law , and drunk driving carries a big fine . The northern part of the state is mountains and forest , and some what cooler . Death valley is in CA , parts are bellow sea level around 300 ft bellow and it gets hotter there , 120f or more . They hold a summer marthon , just to see who can take the heat. Las Vegas , where Steve is at , is almost as hot as Phoenix , gambling is legal in all of Nevada . desert rat

There are times when I can feel burning in my hands and they turn red, but in my case I think that's just a blood circulation thing when the blood is rushing to my hands. Likewise, sometimes my hands are icy cold and turn purple / blue, despite the rest of me seems to be fairly warm. I really need to see a doctor... |
