Tips for astral projecting?? Anything will help :)

Yesterday I spent the day at the beach. Last night I laid in bed and relaxed, spending some time on Facebook. I could feel myself swaying like I was still in the waves. So I put my computer away and decided to enjoy the feeling of drifting back and forth. I closed my eyes and meditated.

I really started to feel as if I was shaking back and forth. I tried to make it stronger by imagining I was rocking side to side. I started to feel as if my body was getting pulled down. Then I just snapped into a really relaxed state. Usually my hands tingled but this time they almost shook and they were kind of cold, like a breeze not anything bad.

I started to vibrate a bit and then this buzzing/crackling sound came. At this point I started screaming "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!" in my mind because I thought I was going to astral project, plus I've never experienced sleep paralysis so that was sort of exciting as well.

It started to simmer down and the crackling went away, I could start to feel my head so I tried to bring it back. I did keep my body paralyzed but my head wouldn't.

I tried redoing the whole process keeping calm and asking my spirit guides to help me. Pretty much begging them. My head wouldn't relax though. Well, I raised my vibrations before opening my chakra energies and again trying to plea for my guides to help (I really wanted to astral project!) but nothing. I don't know what else I could have done, I covered all the bases I knew of.

Please give me some tips!

Yeah, the "SPIRIT guides". If those beyond are given jobs like "spirit guide", then there must be bureaucracy in the great beyond. It's very depressing. You want your spirit guides to show up, but they never do. They must be overloaded with work or lazy or inefficient. It might be like a big bloated government agency or the DMV, ot there is some sort of recession there and they can't afford to appoint enough help.

LOL! It seems like that some times! As far as I know spirit guides can be guides not only for you but for your family and friends as well- possibly even strangers. I go through ups and downs as far as contact with them. Seems like I have a few good weeks (usually when I need it the most) and then some time off follows. I have no idea if they do this for me so I don't burn myself out or for them. But keep trying Rickrock- you'll get it. Practice. Practice.

Anyone got tips on how to do it again? The swaying motion I felt helped beyond measure but I wont get that again until I go back (maybe tuesday).

Mind Awake, Body Asleep - Sleep Paralysis Induction Tutorial

Can't endorse personally, but seems many have had success using that method. I'm currently reading up on all of this which is why I'm reading this thread. :)

I tried that mind awake/body asleep strategy. Well I got partial sleep paralysis with it, but I couldn't get out of my body, probably because I couldn't hold on to total paralysis for longer than a few seconds. I tried sinking through the bed, visualizing myself in a different scene, breathing with my mouth open, but none of these worked. Then I saw in some book table of contents that I need to be in some trance state and they had different exit methods I've never heard of. Clearly I need to read up more.

One weird thing in sleep paralysis, I had some intense pains like my feet and legs were on fire. When a wave of gravity + tingles went over me I was reminded of the coming on effects of Salvia.

Ooo! I tried that last night and got the intense pain! Then the gravity. This morning I meditated for 50 minutes and waves of tingles went over my body slowly about 10 times. It felt great.

I tried falling through my bad also, didn't work. I'll do research too :)

i tried this a few hours ago (went to bed at 9:05 or something :D and its 12:38 here now) and when i tried to do it, i couldnt like... stay in a postion i could keep for morre then 5 mins, so i rolled over and thought "forget it i'll do it when i can actly stay still for more then 30 seconds" and when i rolled over on to my side, i sat there there thinking to my self, about random stuff like spirit guides and my buddy that im just starting to talk to again :)

and after awhile, i found i couldnt move at all really, but my mind was still awake O.O

it was kinda cool, but annoying, coz i had this feeling in my legs like some1 was like.... not holding them down, but like, had their hands on my legs and just that kept me from being able to move

i sat there like that for about 10 minutes till i finally blacked out, and was completely asleep :) lol

I'm an inept, but I will say the best luck I've had is upon falling back asleep after waking up. The rest of the times are failed attempts at lucid dreaming where upon realization I am dreaming the entire thing turns hostile on me and i get 'kicked out' of the dream but not always awoken.

In either case I usually get stuck in my body. Usually my head but sometimes the whole thing. Sometimes I will be able to feel the rest of my body floating up like a balloon or like I'm underwater, but usually if I try to move my head it just warps me back into where I started from. It's a very tight uncomfortable and restricting feeling, It is as I would imagine being under lots of pressure.
Unless I can get manage to get free I will wake up, the only time I was able to get free on my own was when whatever usually holds me there didn't but movement was unnatural slow and exhausting like being underwater.

I would recommend just reading this book
Amazon.com: Adventures Beyond the Body: How to Experience Out-of-Body Travel (9780062513717): William Buhlman: Books

You can even read the reviews of normal people who have experienced it. Even me after only 2 days of trying manage to become conscious while asleep, I didnt manage to wriggle out of my body but that was the next step, I didnt peruse it any further.
