trust a psychic in a dream?

Hi, had an unusual dream last night, maybe someone could shed some light..

In the dream, I'm going to see a priestess, supposedly to learn how to make 10,000 dollars. However, she acts more like a psychic and starts to tell me things. Half of which gelled, the other half which made me appalled. I started out by asking about my dream job, which is to teach urban youth goal setting and finance outside of a normal classroom. And yes, I said it just like that. The priestess/psychic doesn't answer that question. Instead she tells me that there is marriage in the future. [this I found interesting, because I had a dream a couple of nights ago where a lady was selecting folders (they contained data on different people) and then selected a guy for me. She gave me the folder but then I did not see what was inside. Then yesterday, I opened my e-mail to find just one e-mail there. It was spam, but the subject was "Your True Match is waiting for you."] Then the psychic said that he would be both from Minnesota and from New York. [I am concerned about this in real life because I will be leaving Minnesota soon for NY]. Well that all sounds good, no problem. But I am curious about my dream job so I ask again. Then she asks, "You don't want to teach in a normal school?" or something like that, to which I say no. Then she shakes her head and is giving me a no response to that question. I was so upset that I started to cry (as I probably would in real life). She sees me crying and says that she can only tell me one thing more because she has other appointments, and that is that there is sale on ice cream at a grocery store in town. (I can't eat ice cream).
Then she left. My mother was there and she said that maybe I could work in an office. (I don't want to work in an office.) My cousin said that you can't expect me to work in an office. There is more to the dream, involving elevators and police, but the crux of it is kind of there.
When I woke, and was surprised it was all a dream.
I tried to make some sense of it. On the one hand, it would be nice to believe the first half of what she said, but I can't give up a dream because of a dream psychic. Very unusual dream for me.
Anyway, any thoughts on what this dream might mean? Is it just fear playing out? I don't know..

Very interesting indeed. Reminds me of a dream I had years ago where I was with a psychic in a dream and she told me I could ask two questions. One was, "Am I psychic?" to which she replied. "No" and seeing how crestfallen I was said, "Well... yes, but not the way you think." I was in high school at the time. I didn't understand it then but I do now and she was right.

Anyway, back to your dream... it could be your ego trying to talk you out of following your dream (which sounds awesome by the way!). Or it could be a spirit guide trying to warn you that if you follow your dream job you'll miss out on meeting your future husband.

What vibe did you get from the psychic in the dream? Was she there for your own good or was she trying to derail you?

Thanks Erin for helping me to make sense of this dream. The psychic felt positive, not like she was trying to derail me or anything. But at this point, I'm not going to give up on something that is dear to me. I'll take the subjective perspective and believe what I want!
