Default Dream Interpretation Requests

Whether you saw Madonna or your ex-husband's deceased cat of 20 years in your dreams last night, this is the place to post and ask for help, insights and advice with dream interpretation.

Note that if you post your own separate thread, it will either be merged into this one, or it will be deleted.

It means you like me. (whatever it is you dreamed about.)

Hey, Alex, just curious -- what's the reasoning of coagulating all dream interpretations into one big thread?

Do mystical/spiritual experiences count. I just had one last night and I am really interested in sharing it.

@SeaRod - that one is up to you. I'm more specifically referring here to a dream interpretation request as opposed to sharing an experience.

Zombies.

Twice already (although the distance between both dreams was large).

In the second one, the zombies had molotov bombs. Quickly the fire took over everything regardless of my attempts to avoid the darn zombies.

The joke doesn't JUST run. Sometimes it walks. Sometimes it leaps. Sometimes it transforms itself into a banana and dances around.

Default fish

I have been having dreams of fish lately so maybe you can offer some insight as to what they could mean. Here are a couple of them

My husband and I and our two children were down at what seemed like either a very secluded dock or possibly a boat launch because there was only a very small opening to the water and the rest was a wooded area. In the dream I remember it looked as though it was either about to storm or it was close to sunset because everything had an orange kind of overcast glow to it. I looked down into the water by the shore and could see the sand being slightly churned up by the waves and then I started to see the fish...tons of them! There were so many fish of different sizes and colors and some that surely did not belong such as smaller hammer head sharks. I remember we all just kept right on playing in the surf though dipping the kids in and out of the waves and I was never afraid that they would hurt us.

The other fish dream I had was just a few nights ago and still involved the entire family. We were walking down the road (we live in the country so it was one of oil and gravel and deep ditches off to the side) all along the side of the road the ditches were flooded with maybe a 18" of water but the water was clear so you could see all the way down to the grass at the bottom swaying with the current. As I was looking into the clear water I noticed a few small fish and excitedly said to my daughter "Nyah, Nyah, did you see the fish?" She did and being the excitable five year old that she is wanted my husband and son to see too. "Daddy did you see it?". Kevin did not see it. We kept looking and there now seemed to be schools of them coming in and then all of a sudden we saw a much larger fish. I said "Did you see that huge fish?" again he did not. This time the fish surfaced and I couldnt believe he couldnt see it... It had to have been as long as my arm how could he miss it? Nyah was getting frustrated that he didnt see this fish so she jumped in the water. I had no idea what kind of fish this was and didnt want her in there with it so I jumped in after her in a panic. All I remember after that was the water was up to my knees and I was terrified that something horrible was going to happen and that is when I woke up.

Wow that is probably my longest post ever sorry about the rambling

Dream: my mom and I were walking around in a typical grocery store that happened to be selling cat meat. When I pointed this out to her she slapped me. Ideas?

Dream:

My mother was pregnant, had a difficult birth, and then tried to kill my little brother by leaving him alone and pretending to feed him but not really feed him. I got the feeling that in the dream, she was depressed, and my baby brother wasn't really my brother (in real life) but one that came after that.

And my dad rescued him.

I would interpret this as a joyful event that will involve all of your family but in different manners. An event that will change the roles played currently by the members of your family.

Default my dream

I have a reoccuring dream that started when i was way younger, it's so vivid too. I'm hiding in a kitchen like the kind in a restraunt. I'm scared for my life, and there is this pungent smell of rotting meat, and their is a man there searching for me and he is holding this meat cleaver, in some dreams he catches me and cuts me up and others i just wake up before it happens

Exclamation night terrors

i have had night terrors since i was 3 yrs old an im 21 now and still having them 3 to4 times a week. aside from that after an episode i am left with a strong unshakable feeling an some times it triggers memories causing me to relive the past in my thought trying to figure out why i am being forced to feel this way.
recently about 2 months ago this happened an i was triggered by feeling to an ex bf an then a few nights later to another ex bf the feeling i had was that something wasnt right or i was supposed to stop each one of them from making a bad decision i tried finding both of them online givin we dont live in the same city i got ahold of one of them an after explaining this was told they never wanted to hear from me again.
forgive the runons of thoughts im severly ADHD
my question is basically i dont understand why this happens to me cuz it only happens after episodes.

sincerely confused lady

3 days before my father died my aunt saw a dark black cloud then a bright light coming through. She felt it was a warning of impending death with renewed life on the other side. She said my father has appeared to her since his death, starting off as a pen light and getting larger, coming in 3's (my grandmother, my father, and my daughter)

How does dream interpreation work? Is there one universal way our higher selves give us messages in dreams and expect us to look at these dictionaries to find out what it means, or...? (Such as An Online Guide To Dream Interpretation )
I just wonder if I dream about a skyscraper and the dictionary says what it means, how can it be the same all over?

I had a really weird and bad dream last night that I'd like to try to find out what it means.

In the dream, I was moving back to school, like I will be on Saturday. This year I'll be in a new dorm, but in the dream both my roommate and I forgot that we'd be in the new dorm, so we tried to move into my old room.

Then I went around campus, and for some reason...murdered two people. I think at least one of them was in the library. I really didn't have a reason for doing it.

So I just went on for a while, then realized that I might be caught, and that filled me with terror. It wasn't a feeling I had done anything terrible, just that i would get caught.

Then I thought I should tell my family. In the dream I had met on campus an old friend from another university I used to go to; not sure why she was on campus. I used to be interested in her though. Anyway she was there, obviously my fiancé was there just moving in, and my mother and her friend were there. Well I thought I'd tell my mother, her friend, and this other girl first, but my fiancé got upset I didn't want to tell her until later, after everyone else. I tried to explain it was hard to tell everyone all at once, and I was scared. Everyone ended up coming along anyway.

We tried to find somewhere for me to tell them what happened; somewhere private. We were, I think, riding bikes or something around campus trying to find somewhere. We ended up choosing the library, and I remember wondering whether the first person that had been killed was found yet or not, since they were in the library.

That was the end of the dream. Easily the weirdest, most disturbing dream I've had for a long time.

If that were my dream, I'd ask my unconscious mind what aspects of myself that are "in the library" have I killed off, that I am trying to hide from myself or others?

What kind of learnings would someone get "in the library" of your dreams, and what is it about those learnings that you might want to kill off?

I'm pretty sure the library thing has something to do with you reading the forum here, but still a pretty weird dream that includes a lot of people and two killed, that's either very good or very meaningless for the real world.

Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head. After I reread my post, it began to make sense to me.

I've been questioning my Catholic beliefs, as you've probably seen around the forums. I've been developing my intuition, adopting some new beliefs, studying Reiki, and so forth. My fiancé knows about much of this, because she's studying Reiki alongside me, but she doesn't know to what extent I'm questioning the Church and trying to escape it in some sense.

So while I'm honest with her about what I'm studying, for the most part, she doesn't know that I'm really questioning whether I want to be in the Church anymore. As I've said before, it's scary because I don't want to hurt her. I don't feel bad about what I'm doing (just like in the dream), but I'm terrified of what might happen as a result.

I read Steve's post again the other day on why not to have a religion, and I felt like he was talking to me when he talked about those who realize the religion isn't infallible, but still remain a part of it to either appease others, or still have some sense of security, as in the "membership card" to get into heaven. He called them hypocrites. That's pretty much me right now.

The question is, is that dream just symbolizing what I've been feeling lately, or is it trying to tell me I need to do something about it?

The funny thing is that my subconscious chose such a gruesome image for my getting involved in all this again, probably because I feel that other people think it is so wrong, it may as well be murder, they would even say of my own soul. My fiancé wouldn't say that, but others would. It's like I'm trying to keep a foothold in my old beliefs, afraid that God will cut himself off from me, but the rational part of me says that's ridiculous. Yesterday I was in a bad mood a lot of the day, and part of me wondered whether God had removed his grace from me, so I was changing somehow for the worse.

When a dream leaves me feeling like I want more insight, I ask my Dream Manager to provide a dream that will generate that insight for me so that I get the learnings at a deeply unconscious level, and also so that I recognize the learnings consciously. Sometimes that takes me back into the original dream, and sometimes it leads elsewhere.... either way, it's pretty effective.

I almost forgot! I had a dream that Steve and I went to a seminar that was spread out over a bunch of beautiful rooms in a big sprawling ranch style house, with lots of fun, sexy teachers, and at one point we put our arms around each other and started making out! And then we stopped and looked at each other and started laughing.

I have 2 types of dreams about my boyfriend that kind of weird me out:

1. He is in a different body...he looks much different, generally much larger. In one dream he was a female in a mini skirt, which was very strange.
His blue eyes are always the same though, and I always recognize him no matter what body he is in.
In the dream where he was female, I remember staring into those eyes, and trying to tell myself that it didn't matter what his body was like (not even anatomically!) because I loved him so much.

2. I am cheating on my boyfriend. I hate having these dreams for obvious reasons. I have never told him about these dreams, but he has told me about HIS dreams in which I cheat on him.

I would really like to read viewpoints on either one of these dream types. Both are recurring.

Ok, wow, some random hot dream last night...

I used to have a crush on this girl I worked with when I was in college. This girl had a sister that looked like a some model vixen or something.

Ok, so to be not so confusing, I'll give them fake names:

Fran--Girl I used to work with that I had a crush on
Sara-- Fran's hot blonde sister, who incidently worked with us too

So, last night I had a dream that I saw Sara again (haven't seen her for years), and that she took me back to her place...which was just a one room apartment (think of Peter Parker's place in the Spiderman movies) and we had sex.

I remember feeling a bit awkward with her, though, because she was so hot. Like "out of my league" kind of hot...but damn, it's great to know that in my dream within a dream I had me some sex with a hot blond vixen.

Woohoo! James, that was me!

(just kidding. But I am blonde and get called Sara more often that is normal, considering it's not my name, it's my sister's).

I used to dream about cheating on my boyfriend, but he was the guy I was cheating WITH. How weird is that? After we split up it seemed to make more sense, like my subconscious mind didn't like me being with him anyway.
