I dreamed about saving the life of a toddler who was choking on a red Lego piece.

Then I dreamed that my father, mother, brother (I don't have a brother) and I opened a taco place and a flash flood hit our restaurant. My father, who was really young and looked like one of the Jonas Brothers died when the flood hit and swept him under a vending machine.

Any ideas about what these dreams mean?

Most times the mind feeds back from the day's input and weaves them into dreams. We may not even hold awareness of inputting during the day, what transpires in our dreams. You could have mindlessly heard about a choking toddler on the radio news broadcast for instance and not be consciously paying attention to it while focusing on say, driving. The brain was though and was unconsciously inputting that information...kinda like that. So then while sleeping, the brain is re-running the daily tapes and wiping what doesnt need to be saved. This can come through expressed in our dreams and seem non-sensical and foolish. They have no value.

The other thing is, even though we may be asleep, our aural senses are still working and will hear night noises, which can then be picked up by the brain and squeezed into the dream...eg..maybe your partner coughed in sleep and your dreams honed into that and fantasied its own story-line.

There are other things, but I wouldn't be too concerned about disturbing dreams, or over-analysing them into paranoia.
Cheers

Default Dream interpretation that I'd love to know more about

Hi - I am somewhat new to this whole site, but definitely not new to personal development and growth. I'm profoundly clairsentient, but am completly stumped when it comes to my dreams :-)

Anyway, I rarely remember my dreams...but two nights ago, I had some very interesting dream sequences that I remembered vividly and left me feeling unsettled all day. From what i remember now, in the "first" sequence, there were two dead and somewhat dismembered rabbits (sorry, gross...I don't even like eating meat, so this was disturbing!!)- they were white and one was in a location I can't quite remmber and the other one was in my bedroom. I recently separated from my husband of 5 years, so the bedroom was in my current room, not the room I was in for 5 years. My husband showed up in the dream to help me clean up/look for the rabbits. It seemed to take a very long time to do this. Then it switched as dreams do to me purchasing 4 each of some veggie burgers (dreams are so weird) and then I said somethign to my husband which left me running away from him, really angry. That part doesn't take too much interpretation :-)

I guess the part I'm most wondering about are the rabbits...from my rudimentary online searching, I see that rabbits mean fertility..but dead rabbits? Is that like in tarot cards where the meaning is reversed? Very odd. Anyway...if you can give me some insight on this, I would be quite happy. Thank you!

If your clairsentient, maybe you could ask what your dream means and listen for the answer or hints?

It could mean the obvious...that having recently parted from hubby, sex is off your list? Consciously you may not be thinking about sex, but maybe the body is.... and sending you signals? Hence the dead and dismembered rabbits.

Failing this, Im not sure. The fact that your hubby helped you clean up connects him to its meaning, so back to fertility and its varied encounters.

Hi Moriarty - I've done this a few times (asking myself) ...but my gut is suspiciously quiet...so I'm wondering if your meaning (below) is spot on...because it really does logically make sense. :-) And yes, sex is definitely off my list mentally, but my poor body is asking WT* as it rightfully should, after a pretty long dry spell. Thank you so much for clarifying what I sort of figured already. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't dreaming of something crazy and freaky....

Well, dreammoods.com suggests that the crow could represent death, the darker aspects of yourself or any annoying habits. Interestingly enough, I once had a dream in which an abnormally large and aggressive crow was trying to get me. I was in my kitchen, while the crow was in my back yard, trying to force its way in as I tried to shut it out. Being an agoraphobic, it made a lot of sense to me as the outside world not only disturbs me but seems so much larger than it would to everybody else. So, I felt the crow represented my fears of the outside and the worst-case scenarios.

What do you make of the crow?

The first impression i got was "what's happening on your sunday?" That doesnt necessarily suggest anything foreboding either.

Now I will break down the significant symbols...

male/female at table....yin/yang of self; logic vs intuition; taking something to the 'table' (presenting it openly).

3 moons/two abnormal....triology; mind, body, soul; father, son, holy ghost; moon represents emotional/intuition/dreams.

two abnormal checkered moons/dark......a checkered past?; aspects of self, such as emotional, that are in question; the dark aspects of self; perhaps representing the two following days to come till sunday?

Exploding moon....emotional discharge; a keen new insight or occurrence.

patrolling UFO....alienation; something foreign to you; in the dark (not understanding)

My suggestion would be to wait till sunday evening arrives before exploring this dream any further. To me it suggests an occurrence between that time-frame but time will tell for sure. If nothing out of the ordinary happens, then you can look into the dream further.

The reason why you may be seeing 11's and moons around your day is because your focused on the dreams contents and may be drawing those 3D symbols towards you. Or they could be sync'ing sign-posts for you. Either way, we shall see. Cheers
I appreciate your time for this interpretation. It has given me much to think about, and I am still figuring it out Thanks again!

Default This dream I had is driving me nuts trying to figure it out

I’m a nearly 30 year old guy and for me it’s a bit odd to be posting in dream forums and stuff like that because I’ve never done it before, but the dream I had last night/early this morning was more vivid than anything I’ve ever experienced before and the dream itself and the effect it’s had on me now is something I really need to figure out. It was about this girl I went to school with and I haven’t seen or spoken to her in somewhere near 11 years now, basically since I finished school. In school we were friends and at one stage we did almost end up being a couple but I was a bit flighty back then so it never happened and although for a while I did regret it I haven’t thought about it for years now. The dream was that I ran into her and it was at either a school or university I’m not too sure which because the actual surroundings are a bit hazy it’s more that the events of the dream are what is so vivid. We didn’t look like we were still in school or anything like that I looked like I do now and she looked older as well. We started talking and catching up on what had happened over the years since we had finished school and we ended up talking about all the letters she used to write to me in school and how I was absolutely terrible at writing letters back but I had still struggled through it, then the conversation turned to how we had almost gotten together in school and why it had never happened with her saying that “The timing wasn’t right” That was when I noticed she had started getting all touchy and flirty with me and the conversation and her actions turned more to the romantic side of things leading her to move right up to me pull me up close look deep into my eyes and kiss me. It was an extremely passionate kiss which felt extremely real and oddly I can still feel it now along with how it had made me feel at the time (which was good by the way). She then kept looking into my eyes and said “I’ve been waiting years to do that” and I woke up. The strange part of waking up was that I woke up fully alert and before my alarm started going off which is odd, I’m terrible at getting up in the morning and usually need a few alarms to go off and make me get up out of annoyance with them. The other thing was that as soon as I woke up and even now, I have this like overwhelming desire or need I guess you could also say to get in contact with her. So now I’m just trying to figure out what it all means.

Last night I dreamed about a man I've had an interest in for a long time. It begins with him telling me that he's interested in another woman but before I can begin to feel sad, he stops talking mid sentence and is kissing me rather urgently. I've dreamed about him many times before but in spite of my strong attraction to him in the waking world, they've always been rather innocent in a way. Even in the dream I remember thinking "Wow, this has never happened before!" and "Yes! Finally!" Flash forward to the two of us standing naked in the middle of a river, our bodies pressed lightly against each other. The river appears to be moving rapidly around us, judging by the way it splashes against the rocks, but we remain still and unaffected by the current. It's as if the immediate area surrounding our bodies is calm. The water is cold but it feels exhilarating. I feel overwhelmed with joy and excitement, and I still can't believe that any of this is happening. Now this is where it gets weird. Flash to a different scene on the edge of the river which is now calm. The man is gone and there's a woman with me, also nude. She tries to climb on my back and almost forces my head under the water. I can't discern if this is intentional or not. Flash to the man alone in his room. He is looking at what appear to be two over-sized checks, only there is no dollar amount written on them but rather a note written on the lines. I know that one is addressed to me and appears to be unfinished, ending in mid sentence. He sets it aside and finishes the other note. I sense that this one is address to the woman he mentioned in the beginning. I can't read either of the notes but I get the impression that it is some kind of gift or inheritance. I wonder why he is giving it to her and not me. I'm a little confused but overall I don't feel too bad about it. He puts the finished check/note in a large blue rimmed envelope with the Facebook name on it. I wake with a positive feeling overall, despite what may have been a sad ending(I can't tell). Somehow I felt accomplished with a renewed sense of hope that I will have what I desire.

Default Fish Dream

Ok...well, here's a strange one I can't quite figure out for myself. This is really only part of a series of dreams that I can't remember most of.

So I get a knock on the door at night and it is my soon to be ex husband, holding a black bag full of large goldfish. He's very drunk and it's raining outside, very dreary. He wants to know how many of these fish he can put into a pond he's building outside. I tell him that it's probably not a good idea to put any goldfish into that pond, that he might think about taking those back and buying Coy fish instead since they're outdoors.

He thinks this is a stupid idea, so I say, "Well, just put some in there and see how many can fit and still swim." So I follow him to this little pond and he dumps them in...ALL of them, then they start flying and flopping everywhere. It's even raining fish. LOL. Then I look down and he's trying to finish this pond. He's dumped these fish in before he was even done with his little pond and he's trying to take this plaster like compound and make it adhere to the bottom of the tank. He shows me the directions and says, "See I'm doing it like it says!!" he's very angry. He pushes this stuff down, but it just won't stick. "It's supposed to work while it's wet."

So then I ask him to stop and take this very small paint brush and empty the fish and water from the tank. Dry the tank. Then I use the small brush to paint the stuff on instead. He got really angry because he thought I was wrong, even though he asked me for my help, and took the brush away, kicked the pond in, and then left all the fish out to die. Then it's raining all these dead fish. In the process of the dream they turn from being kind of big fish to be being huge..

And then I woke up in the middle of his fit.

Fish in dreams always set off alarm bells for me. I see them as meaning, 'something fishy going on around here'; 'fishing for something'. Goldfish are meant to be luck/auspicious, but in this case they die..not looking good so far. The dream suggests control issues by your ex and anger that he's lost that control over your world.

Water in dreams represents emotions. Not only is it raining, but raining dead fish as well. Two big symbols married together! Take note of all the emotions displayed in your dream to give you clues to its meaning...eg...anger, annoyance, frustration....

Is your ex still playing some role in your life, or at least, trying to? It appears in your dream he's looking for ways to interfere or sabotage?

nama adrift is on a distinguished road

here is a dream i had a few nights ago and kind of need a little help with (i have an idea what it might be about, but i am pretty wretched with interpreting dreams...):

there was quite a bit to this one, but the part i remember is when i (a fully grown female adult) paint/ decorate/ design (or something along those lines) a room with a male child. i don't really remember the decorating, just that we had done it together. i had a strong feeling of affection for the boy, he was important to me, and i knew him well (or did at the time that we created the room together) but i have no idea if we were related or not.

what i do really remember is, later in the dream, looking the child in the eyes and asking him if he remembered painting the room and all of the fun we had. i don't remember exactly how he responded, but i do remember a vacant stare. then i lower my self to just a bit above eye level and i put my hands on his shoulders and ask him eagerly the same question. again i don't really get an answer. i gently, but eagerly shake his shoulders as i ask with desperation, "don't you remember? we just painted it, don't remember? why cant you remember, we just did it?" then i realized that for me it had just happened, but for the boy a deal of time had elapsed. this time he replied, and told me that the room had a vague sense of familiarity for him and certain things he remembered, but they weren't strong memories. he said all of this with words that greatly surpassed his visible age. i remember being surprised at how articulate he was, and getting the distinct impression that he was gently trying to tell me that he didn't actually remember anything....almost like he didn't want to let me down or hurt my feelings.

as far as the room goes, it was made of stone. i remember one wall had blue and blue lines... like wall paper had been hand painted in full color onto very smooth stone that had a few imperfections from age. another wall had many colors and pictures painted on it, but i don't remember what they were though yellow/ gold and red stand out. actually, me and the boy were standing diagonally in the room (such that we would make a triangle with the left inner corner) the wall behind the boy was the brightly colored one with lots of pictures and the wall behind me was the blue one. i don't remember anything about the far wall. then to the side of both of us and forming the back of the room was a stone step/ ledge about 3-4 ft high that had a lot of loose pebbles/ dirt/ dust. it was like the last step in the path down to the room... all i could see was what looked like daylight made fuzzy by dust in the air above the ledge. the room was enclosed though, and the light was shining in between the last step and the top/roof.

on a side note, this is not the first dream in which this boy has made an appearance. a few weeks ago i had one in which i was the boy and i saw a white mist in a kitchen and then i was sleeping in a living room and got scared (i don't remember why), and tried to call for my mom and/ or dad. i couldn't, however, find my voice... it kept getting stuck in my throat. when i finally did find my voice, neither parent came. in my dream i reasoned it was because they couldn't hear me b/c i wasn't able to scream loud enough... there is a lot more to that one, but that is the general idea... and it was the same boy. fair skin, light brown hair, can't be more than 8 ( between 6 and 8?), and blue or brown eyes (i can't remember which, but it is one of the two)
