Has everyone notice the time runs too fast or the day just ends too quickly?

You mean... time is running faster and faster in absolute terms, i.e. the universe is speeding up?

Well, time is relative.

@Alex: My perception is that the universe is speeding up, but how do you even begin to gather evidence for that?

As you get older, your perception of time definitely speeds up.

Default Making Time

Just finished a great book on the topic of time perception - why it seems to go fast at some times and slower at others. It's called Making Time: Why Time Seems to Pass at Different Speeds and How to Control It, by Steve Taylor.

It answered a lot of questions I had about the concept of time and why the last year of my life dragged unmercifully.

Time is an illusion. There is no past, no future, only NOW, this exact moment, and that's all there ever will be. We only base our linear time on the rotation and revolution of our planet. Past and future are just relative terms based on OUR measurement of this process. The only reason it seems like time "speeds up" is because your life is getting longer and 1 day out of 5 years, seems WAY longer than 1 day out of 30 years, or even 60 years. It's nothing more than illusion. If you're interested in slowing your perception of time down, try fasting. Time goes by SLOW during a fast, or during a time when you aren't having fun. Time flies when you're enjoying it, however. If the universe were actually speeding up, we'd notice our days would actually get shorter and so would the years and seasons, since we can measure it. Time is not speeding up at all, just our perception of it as we get older.

Thinking that time is too fast is like thinking that space is too big.

Time is speeding up for me.. and for all of you.. but probably with the program I'm particularly in it likely adds significant speed

I'm more than happy with that.. I prefer the "new" emerging reality to our old one.. in terms of getting what I want anyway..

(and yes linear time is a illusion.. but the experience is real.. until we do away with it )

I've noticed that

A year and a half or so to wait for some result, seems like nothing now... one of the reasons why I have much more discipline in my 30s

It's not really discipline, it just doesn't feel like that long term project is taking as long!

Its got nothing to do with time and everything to do with your memory, usually as one gets older they start experiencing similar things, life becomes routine and it your memories no longer have that contrast to it.

Although it is completely subjective I would say it is speeding up. Weeks feel like days to me now compared to last year and the ones before that. Maybe we're approaching some kind of shift or something?

Yep, my teacher says time is dissolving.. we are the ones that create time.. this is why you can do something you love and time can go by so FAST.. and you do something you HATE and it goes by so slow..

Maybe this article will help or others like it..

I remember hearing a physicist on the radio about 7 years ago talking about the perceived "speeding up" of time.

He suggested that the reason is that once the brain experiences something it locks that experience away into a "been there, done that" mode. as we get older we accumulate all these"been there done that" experiences to the point where we really think we have done it all, or at least that's our perception.

His solution was simple:consciously seek out new experiences and/or do things in a different way, in ways that you haven't done it before. The "newness" of the experience will slow your perception of time passing. it could be something as simple as taking a different way home or raking left handed...or as intense as Wrestling Alligators in Florida--anything that deviates from your routine

Makes sense, I guess;as toddlers EVERYTHING is new. yet very quickly the child is"taught" what things mean and thus, the "speeding up" of time we experience by adulthood.

Hehe, It is quite fascinating how time speeds up as one gets older. Personally I think it's because as children we are often "bored", and not wrapped up in busy lifestyles. As we become adults and are are more focused on time, it appears to move faster, especially because of our busier lifestyles, where there really isn't enough "time" to do everything we want to do.

If you want to slow down time, just sit still in a chair and stair at the clock all day. I promise time will slow down for you

I don't agree with you on the idea that time speeds up as you get older until last year.. (or between childhood and adult) I would have said time was about the same only this year and earlier last year.. have I noticed a speed up at all.. The goal of our ascension is to give up ADULT games "wrongs ways to be and all that" and return to being children.. so your comparison doesn't make sense.. I would say as you become a adult and UNHAPPIER.. you actually "slow" time down..

According to Bashar time has been speeding up a lot since a long time ago.. I think he said that 20 minutes to us now is what 1 hour used to be like in the 1600's or so..

He has also gone on to say.. that if we really could time travel (linear time) to the 1600's and be seen, we would look like gods.. we would not look the same as our fellow humans at all.. we'd be all lit up with light in our bodies compared to those people that would be dark.. we would look like a shining light of jesus compared to their darkness and unhappiness.. we are all a lot happier than anyone was 400 years ago.. or even 200.. or 1,000.. that's because we've been changing the nature of the game on purpose..

even in sleeping for about a minute to half an hour i can dream 3 or more full sequence scenarios...even for 1 minute is like a full movie length...I know it's an illusion maybe we don't notice it...but I read a verse in the Bible that days will become shorter...maybe not concrete or literally but nearing the end it will happen.

even travelling, without traffics or whatsoever, it doubles up my time travel with exactly the same place....what's happening to me...I end up my day insufficient to do a regular task...I already made my actions faster. I look like a robot that speed up twice just to cope up with these things...There's no change in my routine for the past 5 years. There's no change in my travel route and traffic.

Your actually noticing it.. good for you.. a lot is changing on the planet.. the sun has shifted position (which also seems to go unnoticed) it's not the sun but the planet.. But the point is this is a good thing.. "linear" time sucketh.. it may be possible in our future to "shift" to different parts of our timeline instantly..

The truth of the matter is we're giving up "time" in linear fashion.. we are moving into "instantaneous time" in that time.. everything happens instantly (and that's the best label I can remember) if you would like to know what my teacher says about it.. have a listen..

Hello,

Interesting, I was intrigued by the concepts of "time distortion" and "chronokinesis" from yesterday and today this thread comes in just as if by chance.

Apparently, haven't tried myself (yet), the perception of time can be modified at will, using self hypnosis or meditation. Either way, "making" it faster or slower.

Some other references (that haven't fully explored myself yet):

How can time be relative when there is day and night?

And seasons i.e longer nights in Winter, shorter ones in Summer.

I mean sure you could globe trot to another country everyday to avoid night/(day) but then you wouldn't be able to sleep which is what the night is for.

How can time be "fixed" when we all have had experiences.. where we go "where did the time go?"

It's not a random statement in our society.. it's not a accidental observation.. it's really true we've all done it.. we've sat in a class or lecture or something really BORRING.. and watched the seconds tick on by.. wishing to leave..

And we've all done something we love and it was 1 p.m. and then it's dinner time 6 p.m. and like.. wtf.. where did the time go?

And let's return to the orignal premise of this thread "time is too fast" we can all right now look into our past and go.. "man, the time flew" and yet we can also make another observation.. "time is so slow" both sides of the coin can be seen.. and both statements are true..

Stating that "night" is for sleeping is a bit of a oxymoron.. I should know.. cause I am purposefully off-grid a lot the time.. I'm sleeping during the day and awake at night..

And I don't do that cause I have a "night" job.. I do what I feel like.. and it seems to work out that more often than not.. I'm awake at a 1 - 2 and 5 a.m.
