Dreamt I Was Astral Projecting... Last night I had a vivid dream that I was astral projecting. I have many astral projection books at home that I have not read. Let me explain. :) A friend and I had a plan, a few months back, to start an astral projection meet-up. For various reasons it never came to fruition. He lent me about 10 books on the subject. I leafed through a few but didn't read anything in depth. I told my friend he could pick up the books whenever he wanted, and he seems to have forgotten them for months now... Seeing the pile of books on a chair did not move me to start the practice on my own. I felt that for some reason my expanded Self did not want me to go in that direction, expecially since the meet-up group plan fell through. Ive been saying for a few months that I want to focus on the 'here and now' and see no point in bothering with astral projection, since its ALL a projection of mind, lol. So last night I had the most vivid, structured dream of me going through the 'steps' of an astral projection technique. Including laying down, hearing a roaring, feeling swept away into the blue pearl, moving beyond a deep panic, being okay with it, and movie projector images going by in 'space'. This morning, of course, I quickly went to one of the books, by Robert Monroe, since he is the only astral projector I know anything about. I think someone on this site mentioned him once, and I realized he was the author of one of the books in my 'pile'. Well, I cracked the book and was startled to see that my detailed dream included all of the steps in Monroe's book. All I can conclude is that it's another creation of my higher Self. It seems a clear message that it is time for me to pursue astral projection...:p Anyone else have revelatory dreams like that? ETA- during the dream, after astral projecting, I was suddenly able to move objects with my mind, and such. I wonder if this is a foreshadowing of things to come.. |
I am not sure I had this exact experience but it matches the theme of what I experienced last night ;) I am not sure what I experienced was a dream, though. I didn't feel like I was asleep really. Interesting sync, though, your post made me decide to write up my experience too :) |
WOW! Thanks for mentioning the sync Rei...off to read your thread now... :) |
You're welcome! Thanks for being a very convenient mirror :D I love it when the mirroring is all organically awesome like this :) |
Telling apart a dream of astral travel and actually astral traveling can be very tricky. Not directly about your experience, one of the techniques for astral travel is to start from a lucid dream and transition. |
Wstein, yeah it has occured to me that I could have actually been astral traveling. I took the experience more as a clear message to actively pursue this. Thanks! |
I have had a few astral projection dreams , and dreams I could move things . I am not sure if they mean much or just my mind re playing concious thoughts. Robert Bruse has a a.p. forum , I got the link from caterpiller woman. I will post it if asked. desert rat |
Desertrat, sure, thanks for that link. |

Thanks DR! |
i am new to all of this and realy know nothing so im not sure, i dream that i am looking at myself asleep in the bed sometimes, looking at my face and examining it. i have also woke unable to move speak scream nothing for several seconds i always see a mass floating above my body. it is very unnerving. i was told by someone a long time ago that it meant that i had left my body and my body was waking before my soul completely entered back in. is this true |
Drgfly Im not sure. Hopefully someone with such experience will respond. :) |
Drgfly while you are in this dream , see if you can walk around or move. If things feel solid its probly a dream if you can walk through things it mite be a.p. |

There is not an extremely defined boundary between dreaming and astral projection. There is just consciousness, and location is a matter of focus. A dream construct is as much a reality as anything else. The physical world is merely another type of dream construct that your consciousness focuses on, albeit one with the configuration of "denseness". Everything is a dream. Astral projection is just focusing your consciousness to a perspective outside of your physical body's perspective. Sometimes, that involves an aspect of the so called "physical world" or sometimes it involves a so called "astral" or "dream" world. There are an infinite number of realities, because the imagination is infinite. |
