My semi-lucid Star Wars dream

This a dream that I had last night which had something of a Star Wars theme to it. I suppose you could say that it was semi-lucid, in that I think I knew that I was in a dream and yet I couldn't really do anything with the realization. Anyway, here goes.


First, the setting. It was a stone room, pretty large, but with a low ceiling. In the middle of the room was a large gap, it was quite wide, but not too deep. I'd estimate about 5 or 6 meters at most. The walls of this pit are steep, but there are bits of stone jutting out which you could use to climb up. The dream starts when I'm holding on to one of these bits of stone, trying hard not to fall down. There's this guy beside me also holding on and I can vaguely remember that I'm urging him to climb up. I don't remember what goes down between us, but I remember seeing him fall down. However I see him land perfectly on his feet. At this point I still have no idea what's going on.

Next thing that I remember is that manage to climb up and when I do I turn around and look on to the other side of the pit. I vaguely remember seeing a green beam of light moving about and other bursts of light. The next memory I have is someone with a red lightsaber trying to attack me. I don't remember anything about the fight but I (or rather my dream character) knew that he had lost his lightsaber (but I don't remember how). I manage to hold off my attacker, even without a lightsaber, probably by using the Force in some way to act as a shield. Anyway I remember my fellow Jedi (with the green saber) jumping across the pit and just barely managing to land on his feet. He dispatched our enemy (again I can't remember how) and what I do remember is seeing a group of young children huddled together in a corner.

After we had calmed the children done, we tried to look around for an exit and saw a small, dark doorway near the pit. But just as my partner started to go look at it, the whole place started shaking as if it was going to fall apart. Both us decided to get out as quickly as possible, the door was the only way. I walked to the edge of the pit to call to my other partner, but I saw something surprising. The opposite wall of the pit only extended half the way down and below it was a huge, dark empty space. But just as the shaking started to get more intense, a door seemed to come down from the wall and close it off. I remember shouting to my partner, but instead of replying, he turned and walked off into the dark space, just as it closed behind him. I turned back and saw that my partner had got all the children into a neat line.

I remember walking through the dark doorway. While there had been a dim light in the previous room, the path I was walking through was absolutely pitch dark. But somehow I knew that the way out of this place was right in front of me. I guess the Force was guiding me. I came to a T-junction where there was a path branching out to the right. I knew all this, but I still couldn't see a thing. Though the correct way was forward, I felt this urge to turn right. I called out to my partner through the Force and told him to go straight and that I'd join them again as soon as possible. I turned right and walked a short distance, once again the Force was my only guide. There was a small flight of about 5 or 6 steps in front of him, but I didn't 'see' them and I stumbled. As I put out my hand, I touched something soft, like cloth. After fumbling a bit, I felt something hard and round. And I remember that at that very moment, I just 'felt' some sort of a very strong, very evil presence. It's hard to describe, but I know I felt something like that, as if Darth Vader was standing right behind me. But I only felt it for a split second and while I was wondering what the heck it was, I already slipped my hand under the cloth and pulled out the subject.

I took out some sort of a light, I think it was a torch, but it may have been a match. Anyway, on holding the object, it felt just the right shape and size as a lightsaber and I felt relieved that I had found my lost lightsaber. When the light fell on it, I saw it was a lightsaber, but it looked strange. It was entirely metallic and looked more like a torch than anything else. I couldn't remember what my lightsaber looked like, but I just knew that this wasn't it. But for some weird reason, I felt like it belonged to me and that I should take it. Also I was getting very restless, as if the Force was pushing me to get back to my friend and the children. I turned back and walked to the T-junction, just in time to catch the last of the children as they passed along the way I had originally been on.

That's the last continuous bit of the dream. I do remember that we came to daylight and that we were in some sort of old palace or temple complex, made of stone. I also remember that my fellow Jedi in the pit also made and that he told me that he too had been guided along a path in pitch darkness, apparently by the Force. The last thing I remember is standing with my fellow Jedi and the children as a ship lands before us.

Normally I would only have thought of this as a real fun dream, but there a number of things that just won't get out of my mind. First, how was I so damn sure that I had lost my lightsaber? Secondly, if I did, how did I hold off my attacker, even though he had a lightsaber? Did I use Force lightning? Then, who was my attacker, who are my fellow Jedi, who were the children and what were we doing there? And then there is the lightsaber, or more specifically, why did I feel that shock of evil as I picked it up? Is it a Sith weapon? Was I drawn to it by a Sith ghost using the Dark Side of the Force? I don't think it is a Sith lightsaber, because I vaguely remember turning it on once. It didn't quite work, but it glowed green, not red as I had expected. Once again I don't fully remember when I did this, but I remember being surprised by the fact that my old lightsaber was green as well.

I'm going to try to go back to my dream again tonight, and I see if I can find out more. I would like to remember things that my character seems to know, but that I can only vaguely remembering (mostly things about my lightsaber). I do hope this is before the whole Skywalker incident because if I can go back to my dream, I would like to search out Master Yoda and find out more about that lightsaber. I just have the gut feeling that that saber and my lost one has a lot to with things. Let's see how it goes.
