Significance of the Numer 13

I have an alarm clock by my bed and I have noticed the last month or so that whenever I look at it, the time is 13 minutes past the hour. I go to sleep, 10:13. Wake up in the middle of the night, 4:13. Wake up in the morning, 6:13. Five out of six times that I look at this clock and this clock only, I will see 13. What's up with that? I have no prior interest in these type things ..... so, I am clueless.

I'm not sure what the significance is for you, but I know that 13 is a very special number for me - I was born on the 13th, my best birthday parties have always been Friday 13th , my beautiful engagement ring has 13 diamonds... they are all the lame things I can think of right now, but I'm often drawn to the number in various ways.

Oooohhh, I wonder if the Universe is trying to tell us that we're meant to be darkworkers???

There's a book out by Doreen Virtue called Angel Numbers. In it she says that Angels give messages by showing numbers or number sequences over and over. It might help you.

thank you each for your responses. rather than encouraging, it is kinda spooky to me. last night I went to sleep in a different bed than my wife because I wanted to watch a late night basketball game. I intentionally kept from looking at the clock between certain times so that I wouldn't see "13". Finally. I chose to go to sleep around 12:00.....and was deep in sleep and dreaming when I woke up due to my arms being cold (I sleep with many, many blankets) at, you guessed it, 2:13. Too freaky. This is just one example of many that have happened in the last couple of days.

just today:

-rushed out of the shower, looked at the clock - 8:13

-started to tell one of my secretaries my "13" story, looked at the time - 10:13

-asked another secretary what time it was so I could date some notes, she replies - "11:13"

- was walking down the cul-de-sac in front of my house with my daughter when my wife returned home, came inside to talk to her.....haven't looked at the clock since lunch - 3:13

Had a "psychic" lady tell me that 13 = to 1 + 3 or 4 which is considered to be a complete number and that she saw it as a positive sign. Any thoughts?

"13" is the number that comes after 12 and before 14. The rest is all your own input

I've seen 13 for years, hence my id. I don't think it means anything. just a quirk of nature for our amusement. Don't believe the hype.

13 was the most significant number in ancient Maya mathematics and astronomy. They were obsessed with fitting astronomical periods into multiples of 13 and 20.

Not that that has any significance to you, I just felt like sharing.

If I'm not mistaken, the moon orbits around the earth 13 times a year. We use a 12 month calendar, but Mayans, for instance, have 13 28-day months and one "free day" outside of time on what we consider July 25th.

There are originally 13 signs in the Zodiac. Again, we only use 12. There are alot of other ways the number 13 plays out in nature. It is a very important number indeed.

Volunteer, take a look at the thread entitled "I'm transforming, very wierd for me." In that thread, I told the poster that he wasn't the only individual being shown that more things are available to us than meets the eye. Ha ha! Looks like another one of you have joined the masses!

Even though the # 13 seems to be small and insignificant, this experience is making your mind sort of wonder, isn't it? You said that you had no prior interest in these types of things. I find it funny how the smallest little things can open up a whole new world of interest for individuals.

I can't tell you what your # 13 means. A lot of individuals find 13 to be a significant #. The # 13, 3 and 6 have always been what I'd call my "lucky" #'s as I come across them constantly! What they really mean for me, I really do not know.

It looks like there is definently something behind your case of the 13's though and i'd take some time to look into it.



Not sure if what Beloved said meets your case but I find it be very probable especially because it links so closely to awakening ones inner awareness.

13 is the middle of the alphabet. I think seeing the #13 frequentley is a reminder to pick the middle ground. Not the cheapest nor most expensive, not the furthest or closest just the one in the middle. If your faced with a desicion try and determine if the best choice for all is the one that is not to either extreme.

I'm all about 13! Born on July 13th and I also have had some of my best days on Friday the 13th. (Last friday was exceptionally fine! )

I've been having lots of 2:22, 3:33, 11:11 appear on my phone and clock. A little creepy isn't it!

I wouldn't fret too much, dear--I've had the exact same thing for ages: I always noticed the clock at :16 of the hour or 9:11 or 7:11--I've heard that it is due to the body clock. Apparently your body clock is so exact that subconsciously you feel roused to check it at a time that your mind has for some reason decided to recognize... in your case I think it just happened to be 13

Funny thing is I came across this whilst searching for the significance of 13 because my boyfriend sees it everywhere and its beginning to fascinate/scare him a bit--for example, the exit off the highway to his house is 13, my address has 13 in it, his address' numbers added together are 13, 13 is at the end of his SSN, its at the end of his check card, etc... In fact I only signed up to post on this site just to do this one entry

I see umm usually 1:11 or 2:22 or things like that and 9:11 alot, since my oma passed. I figure it's like a reminder or telling me she's still here.
Also does the number 7 mean anything cus I keep seeing it....

One example out of many, I moved abroad for a year, put my stuff in storage, the storage unit was #302. Later found out the one next door unit was larger so I moved all of my stuff out into unit #301, when I moved to Korea my apt. was # 301, I moved again to another city in Korea and my apt. is also # 301. Is this a coincidence?
Before I even got interested in numerology, as a child, #4 represented my family, #5 my family and my boyfriend or husband to be.

Almost 4 years ago I had a devasting relationship breakup and decided to stay single. When I moved abroad a year ago, I still thought alot about my ex. Moving my storage unit from #302 to #301 seems as if the universe was giving me the single status that I had asked for. But three times in a row? Ummm..301 x 3 =12.
I've been going through alot of transformation, releasing toxins, studying buddism and various esoteric arts.
Could it be that 12, in some way, represennts the 12 strands of DNA and my pursuit of attaining spiritual knowledge, cleansing etc?

As, well I often see 1:11 or 11:11 on clocks, in Korea they even have a holiday for 11/11 (it's a day students give their teachers & students thanks with chocolate)...I often see multiple 2's and 3's as well.
Any thoughts on my observations??????

Ok, if you delete the existance of digital clocks from the experiment, how many people are really seeing these numbers?

Digital clocks are so ubiquitous rarely do we realize how often during the day and night we look at one. Then a catchy little number like 11:11 pops up and we start to notice it, obssess slightly. Our reticular activating system memorizes it and begins to take note of how often we see it.

So truly, if you remove digital clocks from the equation and are still seeing magical numbers everywhere, I think you are getting a message.

Otherwise, you are being fooled by your brain.

Okay, I understand what you're saying about digital clocks..
However most clocks have evolved to digital stautus, and can be more easily seen than a regular watch face ...I don't agree that just because its easily seen, it cancels out any significant meaning..Everything has become digitalized, easier to see, to do etc., maybe it's supposed to be easier to notice repeating numbers in order to heighten awareness...maybe the digital age we are in is in cahoots with the universe and its process of elevating change in conciousness?

I do agree if you also notice repeating numbers in other ways, it's more fullproof. I'll never forget a few years ago when working a short stint at a San Diego restaurant, writing customer checks up by hand, that had several repeating numbers after being added up, quite uncanny..and really felt there was some signifigance to it.
At the time a roommate of mine and sensitive, was convinced a huge earthquake would hit the Southern Californian Pacific Coast, so she packed up and went far up to northern california..

I was a bit concerned, but not as convinced and stayed, however, there was an earthquake around the time she predicted, only it mostly hit the Pacific Ocean around Japan, with some damage to Tokyo. A very close friend was there at the time, so I figured perhaps the repeating numbers were alerting me something about that??

Living in Korea, I experienced a holiday Koreans have on November 11, a day when students buy their teachers and friends they love chocolate. The stores go all out, children buy chocolate dipped pretzel sticks to give as gifts. Why the sticks? Because they actually look like 1's, hence, 11/11.
While this tradition had been going on for years what personal signifigance did it have for me? Umm..well, that maybe I was on the right path, that the recent decision to completely change my career direction was somehow in accordance to a higher purpose, 11/11, was a validation of that.

I also have the master number 11, in my numerology chart
