I am writing an article about past-life regressions under hypnosis...

Only thing is, I've never had a successful one, so I sort of lack the experience for my research.

I really wanted to find out about my past lives about four years ago and went to a hypnotist but couldn't be hypnotized. It was in a really noisy place and there was a fax machine beeping just outside the door. I wonder if I would have been hypnotized if it hadn't been noisy. Anyway, I would love to hear about other people's experiences with past-life regression.

There's a book called "healing your past lives" from Roger Woolger, it comes with a cd to try to do a regression by yourself. I have not been able to see my past lives but i did lend the book and cd to my best friend and she took off very quickly and saw a full past life with lots of details. If you ever come across the book it could maybe work for you?

I wish i could help, but my mind is pretty resistant as well .

I have used some of the self hypnosis tapes , cd s and mp3 s . Starting with Dick Sutphen many years ago . I have got info , but I am never shure if it is a real past life or my imagionnation. I was looking for the cause of present day problems, and it has seamed to help . You can find tapes/cds at new age book stores , and mp3 s are for download on the internet . They call us control freaks that dont hypnosise well . desert rat

There's a show called Have I Been Here Before? (2005)

That records celebrity hypnosis and past life regression.. you could give that a watch

You could also try learning about "merlin's crystal ball" in there.. I accessed one..

Why do you automatically assume that someone has to heal something or experience something that was helpful..??

The only reason I experimented with "merlin's crystal ball" is cause my teacher says lives exist especially when you’re a child where you were "the happiest you've ever been" and he was teaching us to access that energy..

Because the experience is all in your head.. it's hard to validate that as well

Master, I am not out to waste people's time. I didn't go to be hypnotized because I had nothing better to do - I wanted to see something/experience something that was helpful or interesting for my life.

Okay, well that's fine

Just don't fall into that trap of making your "past lives" more important then your present.. for some of these people it's like.. ahh.. I had a car accident and I got into a fight with my girlfriend.. I obviously had a past life where I was a serial rapist and the *karma* caught up with me..

I assume you understand what I'm talking about..?? but there's my word of warning not just to you but to all interested.. incidently I just found out that the star tetrehedron I got upgraded to recently has better "viewing capacity" for simultanous incarnations.. course I really don't care I'm not intrested at all..

You want real experience.. you should track down the show above.. it's all done on hypnsosis with celebrity's (not normal people.. abnormal people )

And they present it in a format makes it entertaining/fact checks etc. I can give you a copy of the shows I have if that'll help yah.. ?

As the old saying goes, "There is more than one way to skin a cat". By the way, who would skin a cat anyways and for what reason? ;-D Where do those sayings come from anyway?

Hypnosis is one way to learn about previous incarnations. It can be quite powerful, that is if you can be hypnotized, which in your case unfortunately posses a problem, but that is ok. Going into a deep guided meditation, similar to hypnosis producing similar results. Hopefully you know or can find a psychic who can guide you.

Speaking of psychics, having a session with the specific intention of discussing past lives in general or a specific incarnation is nice because you don't have to do anything. Many current physical and emotional issues can be explained by past life experiences. I had an experience when The Passion of the Christ came out and I wanted badly to go see it, but could not bring myself to go. When it came out on DVD I rented a few times and it just sat because I could not watch it. I finally went to a psychic friend to discuss this issue and the problem turned out to be because a past life experience. She also told me that in order to move forward, I would have to watch the movie.

Native American (Shamanic) Journeying is another effective means of discovering past lives. Journeying is a particular favorite of mine. If you have not tried it I would heartily recommend doing so.

Then sometimes you can figure things out using meditation and your intuition. Meditate before you go to sleep and put the intention out there that you wish to dream about a past life.

I'm not actually looking for past life info for myself. (I'm a professional psychic specializing in...past lives!!
I look up past life info for other people pretty much every day, so can get info on my past lives if I want it.)

It's more that I wanted to learn about the alternative - past life regressions. I'm wanting to hear from people who've had one so I can gain more experience before I write about it in an informed way for my blog.

Hypnosis is a bad way to get there. The person running the session often mucks up the results without realising they are also planting suggestions. At least I hope unintentional. Only deep personal exploration and getting unaltered visions can provide accurate information. There are too many people who think they were Cleopatra. You never hear someone say they shoveled out a horse stall for a living.

Even though this is a weirdo forum.. we don't have enough weirdo's *people* *data* to likely give you the information you want as you can see.. if you wait 6 months I'm sure a few newbies will revive your thread with some data

I haven't tried to get a regression, instead I got memories triggered at first by coming across related information, and now I can just check the Akashic records.

I do have an acquaintance who got a regression, I'll contact her and see if she'd like to share the experience with you Neat topic!

I did a past life regression about 4 weeks ago which was very interesting and I wasn't 100% sure if it was just my imagination so I asked a spiritual healer and she confirmed that it was memories from a past life and not just my imagination. Actually, this is a common misconception.

People RARELY ever recall past life memories where they were someone famous. And, in fact, most serious past life regressionists will tell you most of the lives that are dredged up via hypnosis are mundane and ordinary lives, just as it should logically be.

I would only say hypnosis is a bad way to get there if you are a) incapable of entering deeper levels of trance or b) have a completely incompetent hypnotist at the helm of the session. An incompetent hypnotist is very capable of putting the subject into a fantasized memory. But it should also be noted, if you are very familiar with the real thing, fake regressions are easy to spot. They lack the detail of a real one, and many logical paradoxes come to fore.

If you can get past those two hurdles, hypnosis can be an excellent means of accessing past life memories.
