Default Frightening Lucid Dream

I am just wanting to share my experience and hoping to hear about all of yours

Last night I became lucid in my dream
Except there was some resistance
I was outside, and when I tried to make it day time by rising the sun, it kept going back to night

I tried to contact my spirit guides, to hopefully have a chat
But for some reason I felt a great sense of fear and saw a bright flash in the distance
I flew over to a roof and stood beside a person
I continued to try and contact my guides, wondering why they didn't call me on my phone (as in previous dreams)
I was still waiting when a giant and loud truck that was on fire sped past
I tried to give myself the power of water to put it out but it wouldn't work so I just yelled "fix it fix it" and sent that toward the truck

Not long after another truck on fire swung around in front of me
I tried again to put it out but to no avail
I was then in the truck and it flipped over
The person on the roof said "you need to wake up in your subconscious to wake up consciously"
I then felt the two levels of awakening and consequently woke up

Throughout this time I am very sure I was lucid, as I was in my right mind and trying to gain control
It was quite a scary experience, I felt a lot of anger, not from me but around me

Has anyone had a similar experience of lack of control?

Very interesting! Were you having the dream or was the dream having you?

I've had a lot of lucid dreams where I felt a lack of control. Most of the time it relates to controlling my speed and direction in flight. I believe that even in a lucid dream, there's still a purpose to it, and your greater self, subconscious mind, or whatever can impose its own agenda, circumventing whatever you think you would prefer.

My theory on how the mind works, it's like a democracy. There are different forces at work pushing and pulling in one direction or the other. The conscious mind is kind of like the president, often able to veto or sign bills into law, but sometimes other forces in you can override a veto. You can debate with yourself and sometimes you win, sometimes not. Usually when you lose, it's a soul/karma thing... some deep lesson you need to learn.

Wow, liked the description of how the mind works. Interesting perspective

Most people would be doing well to have any measure of control in their dreams lucid or not. Not all things need to be fixed. Maybe something was trying to alert you to a different way of doing things, for example raising the sun to make light when it is rightfully asleep... you don't need to do that to make light in your dream or the astral. Probably going to the light you saw in your dreaming would have been the place to go. It was a beacon to help you out of some dark area you inadvertently found yourself in. Keep things simple.
