Ssandra - You're right, it does become easier once we're aware of things - in fact just being conscious of something is enough to change it! Many people just want to toggle between pain and pleasure, and not really live consciously to make life more effortless. The 'hitting over the head' phenomenon occurs when we continue to react (instead of responding), and keep creating similar circumstances to help us become aware. It's not so funny when we're in the weeds, but becomes more humorous when we see how we perpetuate our own misery/effortlessness.

Nimue - I'm happy for you! Many people are struggling right now, and the less they want to see themselves the harder it becomes.

Do you think our personal tastes reflect past lives? Food, hobbies, job, physical attractions?

I find a pattern in what i like to do, what kind of people i find myself attracted to (physical/psychological traits) etc.

Do you think that if have done something a lot before you are bound to do it again. I guess it could relate to our energy centers of training too, as those as deep in our soul we tend to repeat these traits when we incarnate?

Yes, I believe our souls have personalities.

Mine likes pretty stuff Luxury and beauty and things like that. So that's what I'll surround myself with, no matter the circumstances.

In your case Sandra, was it a random thing that you were attracted to your husband? Or is his type a type you go for? Like i just have a thing for curly hair since for as long as i can remember. My mother always dates African men or Northern African (she is caucasian but can't resist dark skin, dark hair, dark eyes) so i wonder if she had pleasant past lives on that continent.

Or in terms of work that i enjoy: it would have involve caring/healing or precision work (creating/restoring artwork). So i wonder if i've had several lifetimes as a craftsperson. When was restoring antique furniture i just had great respect for the original way it was built/adorned. Maybe i built some in those years, who knows...

The traveling thing is also a pattern...i have itchy feet very often. I don't get overly attached to places, quite transportable!

In my husband I think it was some karma that we had to work out and date. I don't believe we were meant to be married, but it is ok now that it happened (from a cosmic point of view, from my personal point of view it is more then ok ).

I believe that I've usually falling for less strong guys. That I've always been very controlling and that in this life time it is one of the things to learn not to be.

All my ex boyfriends were guys I could walk all over without issue. And I'm ashamed to say that I did do that at some point as well.

Weena - Thanks for letting me know on FB that you had a question here! And thanks for everyone contributing to the discussion!

Do our personal tastes reflect past lives? Yes, we are influenced by all our other lifetimes and our current life - because from the macro perspective it is all happening at the same time. Each moment can resonate with another moment in other lifetimes. For example, I like the taste of pickled herring and salmon - have liked it ever since I was a kid in Europe. But every time I eat it, it also resonates with those other lives where I have eaten it and loved it. In my case, a particular life in Belgium in the 1500-1600's where it was a common staple in that area. If you love chocolate, painting, engineering, mysticism, etc in this lifetime, whenever you partake of that activity, go to the same place, go to a similar place, eat a similar food, connect with someone from another life in this lifetime, etc - it will trigger or rather resonate with other lifetimes where you are doing the same thing. If you have had a particularly strong emotion around something (love, fear, anger), then we will have a strong attraction/aversion to something. So it's our current life conditioning, and all of our lives influence, plus our core vibration/frequency which has certain longings.

The core vibration/frequency for an individual is essentially the same in every life, with a variation on the main expression, and some differences in each life depending on what the soul purpose might be for that particular lifetime. But if from your core vibration you are essentially interested in mysticism, wanting to know the bigger picture of life, how to connect deeply with people - you will likely be doing that in almost every life. And we can get off track with our core expression and life purpose if we have a lot of internal conflict.

Attraction to people is also based on our vibration/frequency - you will be attracted to those who resonate closer to you, but you may also be attracted to a certain emotional/physical characteristics. And we tend to run into the same people in many if not all of our incarnations. ha!

In terms of work, there have been people who have done similar work in many lifetimes - i.e. hospital, police, inventing, counseling, creative, etc. There have been cases where someone has worked on a project (like building a cathedral), died and have come back and finished working on the same project. There are cases where people come back to work on unfinished books, scientific experiments, esoteric teachings - you name it. Sometimes we have done something so much we are tired of it, other times we keep at it.

Everyone will have an Oversoul that is either skewed towards feminine or masculine which will color our outlook on life (i.e. hunter or nurturer/gatherer). Also, if we have had many lives as one sex or the other, that will flavor our perspective on life. For example, a gay man might have a feminine oversoul and/or many female lifetimes before coming into this current lifetime.

@ Sandra: i was honestly just wondering as i knew you had a reading too, and i thought you had a male energy around you. But there was no particular reason other than curiosity.

@ Tanja: glad you enjoy this topic. I have read so many books that have quick references to the akashic records, i got all happy to see a thread seriously discussing it.

@ Chris... for the food thing it's a bit of a mystery for me. As on the top of my list is "spices" and at the very bottom is "meat" (ugh!).

I quite envy you on the details part of past lives. I hear that people who have regressions come up with heaps of details. How do you get to that stage? The stage where you actually are "living" that other life as you look into it, and get the smells, the feelings, know what time you're in and the current events at that time, the clothing, the culture, the language? I'm happy if i only can get a snippet of something. Can't wait for the day I actually can go "WOW! So many details, it felt so real, etc etc". Sorry this is more "regression" question than AR question i guess, even if the two are somewhat related.

Weena - Knowing that we can access any of our lifetimes is the first step. Keep practicing! Getting a snippet is wonderful, then keep expanding that moment to see what else comes in. If you get information through certain senses, ask to receive information with the other senses too. Ask for a more expansive/complete experience. Ask to feel like you're stepping into the shoes of the other lifetime so you can have a more thorough understanding. Ask - the Records are very user friendly. It might feel a bit strange at first, but don't be scared of it. It has more of a virtual reality feel to it, esp at first - and you don't have anything to fear from this experience.

In your case, keep asking the positive questions - fun lives, resources, etc. And for you right now with the new baby schedule - you need more sleep! It's difficult to stay in the relaxed yet very aware state of preconsciousness when we need more sleep. And you can do this Weena. Keep doing several preparation and deepening techniques, and make the accessing script as real as possible to your senses.

yes yes, I have an other question. So when you eat pickled herring you find memories...what about music? I get strong emotions linked to Celtic music. I know for sure i MUST have had lives in a Celtic culture (own many books about it, lived in Ireland, even got tattooed for life with a Celtic pattern). So if i was to listen to Celtic music would it facilitate the remembering process? It could be the "fun" life to look for.

Funny today i was reading about the aspect of the moon in a chart and it turns out mine is a crappy one (Aries...not helping with the feminine intuitive side of things... good to rely on myself, sure, but not helping with the psychic stuff).

It could be any facet of life that your soul resonates with. Also influencing us are the life patterns that get handed to us genetically from seven generations back on either side of our parents.

Okay - we've just passed the summer solstice 2010. We're now on the home stretch for moving from collective seperation toward unification. Things should be picking up rather rapidly now, and over the next few years. How is everyone doing in your life?

When you say how is everyone doing, what exactly do you mean? I'm still working, living, playing...

I will say that every day feels like a dream, signs and symbols sort of float by regularly. These days I can very easily 'see' the reflection of my thoughts on a continuous basis. My closest loved ones and their behavior is a direct reflection of me as well.

I am not all that into the labels for kids anymore, so i'll skip the indigo crystal rainbow stuff and just as a general thing, i notice some very high spiritual qualities in small children these days. Or is it because more of become conscious and lead the way in terms of love and compassion, and acceptance of paranormal?

Kishka - Over the past few years, we've been passing through what I would call a collective "dark night of the soul", where issues that have been lying under the surface have been getting more and more difficult for us to ignore. With that going on, plus time feeling like it is speeding up more as we come toward the collective shift toward unification, I'm wondering how people are faring in life. Do we still find ourselves in repetition, in denial of ourselves, not living our truth, not being ourselves - or are we living life with gratitude and awareness, riding the next wave in consciousness, finding ourselves in the right place at the right time, in total knowing that everything is sacred and everyone is divine? Is your life 'working' for you or not?

I think you're being intuitive about something. As we approach and move through this shift, our consciousness is being excited more and more, so that it will be difficult to remain the 'same' person. There are all kinds of 'deaths', and having the wisdom to release what no longer works for us (i.e. a habit, old patterning, limiting beliefs, a relationship, a job, even a meditation that has taken us as far as it can) to live in what I would call the void, where anything is possible, takes real courage. Everyone should be so lucky to have that continual sense of death and rebirth.

Weena - Yes this is from the Akashic Records. There are a combination of things happening now. We are collectively releasing more conflict on a global scale, with more people on the planet, than we have ever done in our history. That's a huge shift! And the ripple affect of that will move into 7 generations on either side of us - forwards and backwards in time - like a stone entering a pond. It's the same for us individually - we affect 7 generations on either side of us when we awaken.

This is an amazing time to be on the planet because this is essentially the time that many prophets spoke about. We have a tremendous amount of souls that want to be here now because it's like the ending of one great play and the beginning of another one! This will be the last time (on this planet) that there will be the experience of shifting from separation to unification, because by 6734 (give or take a few years), humanity will be heading out towards the stars. With all of these factors going on, there are also souls coming in (and many already here) who are/will be helping humanity in various ways. There are quite a few souls here that are incarnating not out of karma (wanting to balance some internal conflict), but who are finished with that and want to be of service.

Yes you're on track about the consciousness of children! There is a reason for the bible passage "and a little child shall lead them". Children, before they get conditioned, are naturally intuitive and can grasp much of what we call "higher" understanding because their minds aren't closing them off to reality yet. As we moving further into this shift, many parents will be looking to their children as to how to live more effortlessly. Sounds strange but I already see it happening with some parents I know. Those of you who are parents know that your child can actual grasp quite a bit. If we can help our children become fully themselves, without judging them, but encouraging them to be a unique individual, they will learn and grow exponentially right now.

Yes it is such a good time to be incarnated! So many people are in touch with themselves...but then some aren't but that's fine, we still have 4000+ years to get to that point, eh? And half of that in the Aquarius Era, mmmh, some good stuff coming through!

Weena - The mid-point of our shift from separation toward unification is in 2012. The start of this energetic shift happened about 500 years ago, and the physical evidence was the Rennaissance - all kinds of leaps were made in science, art, spirituality, etc. This is a great time to be awake on the planet! The Records indicate that more people will be awakening between 2012 - 2036, when the shift toward unification will be more global.

Wow, I like that much more as a reason for the world ending in 2012 (as we know it or as a 'shift' as opposed to disappearing or going into chaos). As for that one akashic grid network that you were mentioning quite a bit earlier, I have seen the scene you referenced in Iron Man 2, the one where he's making unobtanium or something like that. As for drawing something like that on the earth and all, I would need to have a better grasp of photoshop than I do, so while I can picture it in my mind, it's a bit more difficult to illustrate it on paper. But also, as good as the grid in the movie looked, I don't think that the actual akashic grid would be as 'static' and well formed, but rather the density of the gridpoints being related to the relative energetic content of a certain area and/or perhaps places where people have established a much closer connection to the records. Perhaps something more like a flight path than a strict grid. A quick search on google led me to this site: Aaron Koblin Flight Patterns (which it can get my point across much better visually than I can). Also, I would hope that there is movement in the main lines as the gridpoints move around or as the pathways on the earth change as the swirling of the outer core has effects on the magnetic field surrounding us. Granted, this is speculation from me, not sure if that's how Akasha actually looks/behaves, your thoughts?

Melchoir - Yes it's much more empowering to know that we're going through a consciousness shift that will change us, rather than thinking it's the "end of the world".

I love how you try to make a personal understanding of this. The grid itself is more static, with 144,000 grid points that are evenly spaced around the planet. The Akashic Records themselves seem to be more dynamic, shifting with our consciousness as we grow - meaning, more information is becoming available and easier than it used to be, and I would imagine after the collective shift it will be even more interesting. Sorry if this question is redundant – I’ve been on a forum break and I admit that I haven’t read through the whole thread

I meditated with the intention of finding my past life connection with someone. I got the information that I was looking for I believe – it’s hard to put it into words. Images and feelings – that kind of thing.

Does this mean I accessed my akashic records? Or is that something else?

My ultimate intention is to find my past connection with a couple of people in my current reality. However the thought of that elicits a negative physical response as the current relationships are somewhat difficult. So I thought I would start with someone for whom I didn’t have that trepidation – for practice. I suspect it may influence my ability to connect – if there is some fear as to what I might find. Any advice on that?
