Depends on the person i guess. I had my first one within days. It was only for a few seconds. Do you ever get into that state when you feel awake but you are actually asleep? Like when you seem to be tossing and turning all night, but once you get up you feel fine?

I was awake I swear it, then i noticed my curtains were red (they are blue). I bent up in bed to ponder it, and then the shock of realising i was dreamin shocked me awake, i had to check they were blue. Everything else was identical and i thought i was awake.

Sorry for the boring story, but i think its actually quite easy, it involves being aware of your mental states a bit more, trusting your self-conscious and just waiting i guess. It will come. Sometimes it can take months, but once it happens you cannot really lose the ability.

I've had the feeling you're talking about a few times but nothing beyond that. I had a lucid dream when I was about 10 before I knew what lucid dreams were .. god that was strange.

Don't apologise. That was actually sort of helpful.
Do you have lucid dreams regularly?

It depends on the method you are using. You may have to discover a method that works for you.
