I keep trying to connect with my spirit guides and nothing comes up... I even look into my dreams (that I remember) and there's no animals, no people at all? Due to having a 5month old, I don't get chance to have a proper sleep sometimes, maybe that affects it? Or maybe they don't want to show themselves yet.

I want to contact them to help me further myself psychically... I know it won't happen overnight and so far I have read several books on the subject. "You Are Psychic" by Debra Lynne Katz is by far the best but I don't have time (thanks to my son) to sit and meditate, ground myself, ground the room, clear my chakras, call my energy back, run my earth & cosmic energies and practice creating & destroying objects before even starting a reading!

I just wondered if anyone had much advice, bearing in mind I hav very little time on my hands. SHould I just give up until I get a bit more time to myself?

you may try gently setting aside the expectations, to be open to connecting in ways you may not have expected.

what i mean is, they may come through in your dreams, or they may provide gentle feeling language - a greeting - as you feed your child. or they may provide little flashes of images while you change his diaper, and there are other ways they may communicate as well (which don't require official meditation). i am wondering if you are putting some limits on how they will connect? if so, it may be that they are already connecting with you but it is subtle or you are not seeing it as a connection with them because you are looking for it to show up in some other way. i think it often helps to set aside ideas about what the connection is supposed to be like.

i also think, as much as you mentioned having less time because of your son (congratulations, by the way ), it may help for you to see if you can make some extra me-time anyway. i do not see that as a selfish thing, i see it as being a better mother in the long run...

rei gave you a very nice answer and we would add:

now you should rather focus on the motherhood as it is such an important phase in the life of the woman. And enjoy it.

You can also ask your spirit guides or angels etc. for help and guidance. They always help, even though one may not be always aware of it. Best is to ask and not to cling to the result. Just leave it to God.

Usui reiki initiation would also be very nice and helpful.
