I was wondering if you have a preferred method when you go and see a psychic for a reading. I have seen different psychics and i came to the conclusion that what works best for me is someone who does not ask for too much information at the start of the reading. For instance, a psychic asks your name and date of birth and start doing some numerology and astrology to see where the reading is going. It sorts of spoil the whole thing a bit. Also, tarot cards. Good tool but again it kind of feels like the psychic doesn't trust her/his gift enough and needs tools other than their inner gift. We all can do tarot cards...i did that for loved ones before (i precise I'm not a psychic in this lifetime, been there done that in a past life, so not interested in becoming one in this one, i want to experience an other path but still in the lightworker's area My favourite reading has been with a lady who was clairaudient and clairsentient. She only held my wedding ring and for the rest, just went with her psychic abilities. Please understand i do not judge other methods as "wrong" or anything, but i personally prefer someone not using lots of tools and information. What does work best for you, what method would you trust more if you were to get a reading? |

I use Tarot Cards but am not a Psychic (I am hoping to develop these powers, any advice?lol). I personally feel that the cards confirm what the psychics are thinking/feeling/seeing so therefore they can be pretty positive in the replies they give you. That is my thoughts on it anyway, I know even when i am confident in my powers I will still use them. I also feel that for people who come for readings, that have no idea about psychics etc, it is nice for them to see the cards xx

| I'd say too that cards are some form of confirmation. As you know my dearest friend, I am starting to see things. I am still too new to feel very confident about it, I guess it is a form of help for now, until I reach full potential. Perhaps Erin could give us insights on what works best for her or how she came to master her very own gift... |

| I noticed accidentally years and years ago : I was a teen, lying in bed and thinking very hard about someone I loved at the time, I lived far away from that person and was looking for ways to get in touch through my non-physical senses. When I closed my eyes, I actually saw stuff which wasn't part of my life or my stuff. I forgot about it and only recently, when I've been feeling quite relaxed, I began to have flashes. I wasn't too certain what that was until I got it clearly when I drew cards for myself (Doreen Virtue angel cards) which said I was an accomplished 'clairvoyant' and David Chang made a reading that confirmed it and gave me some advice on how to start working with it. He advised me to take quiet time to ask questions, close my eyes and look at the first things/feelings that come into mind, so trying to work with this now as a starter |

I played with tarot cards in my teen years but I didn't really know what I was doing and just using the book to help me interpret. I failed to use my own intuition, giving all my power to the basic meaning of the cards. If I were to try tarot cards again I would definitely use them as a metaphorical tool and I'd probably be better at interpreting them all together to form a clear idea of what's happening with a person. My current and preferred method is clairvoyance and clairaudience. Once I developed those, I was off and running. Being able to tune in and more importantly, trust the information I was receiving, was key. I have found over the years that it is easy to tune in and receive info... the hard part is trusting that your interpretation of the data is correct, and of trusting that the clarity you're receiving is accurate. when I do a reading all I have in front of me is the person's head shot. I connect visually, so for me to do a reading on the phone I need to see the person I'm connecting with. But I don't hold anything of theirs or ask for their birthdate or anything. I just need their name, so that when I connect with the guides I can say, "Tell me what Jane most needs to know to help her on her path" and they just start yapping at me or showing me metaphorical images of what's going on in Jane's life. Usually it starts out with career or relationships but on some occasions health seems to be the most important area so we start with that. On still other occasions it will be a deceased person coming through with messages. Taht doesn't happen as often for me, and most of my clients want info about their own lives, so that works out well. |

You can look at Erin's archives for some of that information... Over on the right is a search form, or you can see blog categories... it's fun to go through! |

Thank you for sharing what works best for you. As i said i don't see cards as being "wrong" and they certainly can be a way to confirm what one feels. I do feel more confortable with a direct connection though. Thank you Erin for explaining your method, if you use the name in the way you do (to talk about the person to the spirit guide) that is not tampering by analysing numerology chart so it is quite a beautiful method, and a photo sure is useful if you don't get to meet the person read face-to-face. By the way, it seems that whatever keyword i type on your blog comes up with an interesting article, how wonderful of you to share all that understanding of the higher realms, thank you so much for that Rachaelpie and Modernthing, i wish you the very best in developing your gifts, and hope that you will trust in your abilities...i think if your heart's desire is pure (a clear intention to help others) then all will flow abundantly. Good luck and keep us updated |
