What a coincidence! I was just thinking: I should post this question on the Steve Pavlina forum. And the first post I saw was this one!

My question is basically the same. I've read about remote viewing in UFO books and on Wikipedia, but nowhere does it explain how to do this. Is this just another exercise in quieting your mind and imagining to be at a certain place? Can someone give a short explanation without me having to buy a book or (expensive) course?

I practice a technique called "Shamanic Journeying". In this technique, you separate your spirit from your body and travel as an energy being. In this state you can travel either in the Tonal (physical realm) or the Nagual (spirit realm). Others call this "Astral Projection" or "Out Of Body Experience".

Actually, as an engergy being, the two are not that different. I could explain, but it would far too long a post.

In any case, in this state, you can go anywhere and anywhen.

I personally have visited family members in this state when they were in need. I was able to see what they were doing, where they were and experience their emotions and thoughts. And, I was able to help provide them with strength, Love and support at a time when they needed it most.

I'll provide an example:

A few years ago, my baby sister was deployed to Iraq with her unit. Her job was base and convoy security. Her first deployment was Camp Falcon, just south of Baghdad. This was in October of 2006. Just after she arrived, a single mortar shell impacted the ammo stores and set off a series of explosions that lasted almost three hours. Thankfully, no one was injured in this incident.

I, of course, knew nothing of this. What I did know, was that my baby sister was very much on my mind and on my Heart.

In prayer, I asked my Guides to seek permission to Visit her. It was granted. I exited my body and travelled to where she was. It took less than a couple of seconds to traverse the expanse and I came in to her room (she was an officer and so had her own quarters) from above. At the time I came in, she was sitting on her bunk hunched over a notebook writing. I could tell she was upset. I could feel the emotions: home-sick, a little fear, but mostly just sadness. I knew that she was upset that her fuzzy pink slippers had been lost during her deployment. I knew that she was feeling frustrated by the lack of respect she was getting from her soldiers. And I knew that she was happy that none of the "...thankless bastards" had gotten injured. And I knew that she was a little proud of that fact.

In this form, I reached out to her and gave her a "hug". I projected as much Love and support as I could. I told her that she was loved and that she was supported and that no matter what happened, she always had family that cared for her and were proud of her.

A few weeks later I was able to talk to her on the phone. By that time I had found out about the explosions and was asking her about them. She told me that she had decided that night, after everything had died down and the Fire Crews had gotten everything under control, that she had decided to start keeping a journal. She said that the decision to keep the journal had been such a good idea. She said that as soon as she had settled on to her bunk with the notebook and started writing, she just felt soooo much better. Thinking of her family made her realize that it didn't matter where she was, we were always close. She also thanked me for the new fuzzy pink slippers I had sent her and told me that she had had a pair almost exactly like them that had been lost during her deployment. She said that it was the one thing she had taken that made her feel "girly" when 16-18 hours a day she was in combat boots and BDUs and that she had almost cried when they weren't in with her gear.

I told her I was glad she was feeling better and reinforced the fact that she was always in my Heart.
