My Tai Chi teacher told me it is. I believe he knows this from someone he trusts among the people he studied with. He rarely talks about supernatural things and he always inspired modesty in me, so I do not doubt that his affirmation is trustworthy, even if unverified. I did not ask him if he actually saw somebody levitate, in person. As I said, we almost never talk about impressive stunts, but rather how to improve posture, breathing and relaxation, but I believe the reason why he didn't withhold this information from me was because he wanted me to be open to the principles that ultimately allow even such stunts to be performed if the practitioner wishes.

But, trust me, they camera edit things heavily. There are real people who levitate though. For example, this could be a real video of levitation: YouTube - African shaman performing levitation

One time I smoked some weed with this fellow from Cambodia. We were in his house and , for some reason, I went and sat at the other end of the house from where he was sitting...I just felt more comfortable over there. I remember looking at him and he looked like he was floating off the ground, in a cross-legged position. It freaked me out so much I got up and ran out of the house without saying goodbye, and ran all the way home...about 3 blocks away! Now, I don't know if this is what actually happened or it was just the weed...but it certainly was a freaky thing to witness, whether imaginary or otherwise. |

I've communicated telepathically while under the influence of Marijuana... whether or not it actually happened (my friend later spoke of having a similar experience with me) is dependent on my belief that the phenomenon actually occurred. Belief creates reality, so why not believe in the more exciting possibility?

I do actually think it is possible...and I do think he was levitating that night, it's just that telling others, (you're all the first people I've told about it)...and especially with the weed influence thrown in, it could be easily dismissed! Having actually witnessed this, my reaction was to run away, as it was so out of my frame of experience. If I saw it again, now, with all the other experiences I've had, I probably wouldn't bat an eyelid! |

Like, David Blaine, he seems like a very dedicated individual.. so does Criss Angel... but Criss Angel is more.... he takes things to the extreeeeme, and it's too incredulous,.. and he isn't as mysterious as David Blaine. David Blaine.. he is such a mystery n he seems like he would be the type of person who would actually dedicate his time to learning how to use his mind to a higher potential and when he levitates, I am more convinced that it's real... =&

There was a program on AXN called Magician's Greatest Secrets Finally Revealed. In that they showed a masked magician levitating from roof of one building to another. Later, they showed that he was actually being lifted from a very high crane with the help of very thin, strong wires. Since the sky was cloudy, the crane could not be seen. Initially, I was very impressed with Copperfield or Chris Angel. But once you see the secret behind the magic, it looks quite ordinary. My mum told me stories of she would levitate, she would be asleep and then she was all of sudden up in the air...she believed she was being attacked by the devil. I know...it sounds like she is a freak, she is not. She's a pretty open and honest person...even with religion being part of her life. It's not something she tells many and it's not something she profits out of. I think religion is her way of coping with these experiences to be honest. She also gets a feeling of being choked. I always wondered why I never I experienced this level of paranormal activity...probably because I block it and I am not scared of it as much. Like I wouldn't see it as the devil, whereas she does. I would see it as a pretty cool experience, which makes one special or stand-out. I mean I did experience paranormal things when I was younger, but they weren't really scary to me, just didn't understand the purpose of them. Last edited by ellie; 11-06-2009 at 11:41 AM. |

He actually did 2 common levitation tricks one involves a prop and the other he has people stand at a certain angle so they can't see part of his foot is still on the ground. The video shows the simple trick where it views his feet from the proper angle so it looks like he lifted off for a few seconds. They then edited the film and showed the crowd reacting to the other more impressive levitation trick that can't be shown on video without revealing the secret. So the editors made it seem more impressive by changing the reactions of the crowd. You can do the simple version looking at yourself in a mirror from the proper angle. Some of his illusions use the video format and the limited information it gives as part of the trick. I love Blain he's awesome! I found the explanations online somewhere. | |
