dear everyone, Lately I have been experiencing involuntary body movements during meditation eg swaying of the head or the arms move in particular position and back etc. yesterday just after starting to meditate and enclosing myself in the white light bubble i felt a wonderful pleasant sensation of being touched well actually it was like goosebumps going over my arms and then legs and then the other side. also there is a vibrating sensation in my whole body as if it is electrically charged I almost hear a buzz going thru my body. I wonder if anyone has had similar experiences or know what it could mean? thanks |

Codename smiley Is there anything I can do so that the kundalini is channelised correctly? I have surfed and it seems there are plenty of side effects if it is not channelised properly. extending right from paralysis to mental disorders....was just scary enuf to read. regards sups |

In my limited experience, the movements probably aren't kundalini, though the electrical charge feeling may be. My experience with the kundalini is a slight, but obvious tickle at the base of my spine that eventually stretches the length of my spine. When you focus on it, it will rise up to whatever chakras you've mastered. You can force it higher with more focus, but it will eventually settle back down to it's natural position with normal focus, and back down the spine when you stop focusing. As far as I know, it will progress at it's own pace, a pace you determined before incarnating. While it's progressing, yes, you can have what you called side effects, and they can be nasty if your body isn't ready for the progression. I think the only way to really mitigate those is to get in touch with your guides and find out what they think you need to do. In the meantime, balance your chakras, keep them healthy, keep your mind healthy, and keep your body healthy, and unless you set too large of a pace for yourself, you should be ok. Based on heresay, it would seem that a lot of people incarnating in these times are scheduling a more intense kundalini progression, a larger spiritual jump, you might say. Getting it all out before the big show, I suppose. If you're really concerned, if you feel you should be more concerned than a normal, open-minded seeker type, then definitely talk to your guides about it sooner rather than later. The last thing they could want would be for you to really get sick because of it, so they'll want you to be prepared. If you're just a normal, open-minded seeker type, don't worry so much about it. Talk to the guides either way, haha! I have had a similar experience with the movement you described. It feels similarly to when I'm using automatic writing. For me it's not so much involuntary as it is suggested, meaning that it's almost easier to move in one direction, and if I decide to move, that's the one to go in. It's usually my neck and arms. They'll follow similar stretching patterns and then settle down, focusing energy between my heart and throat chakras. I'm not yet sure of the purpose of this, other than that I should maybe stretch before meditating, or maybe just move around more in general before meditating deeply. I haven't asked my guides about it yet, though I think these are coming from higher self. Can you describe the movement a little more, or the feelings associated? |

dhetic thanks for the post...most of the stuff you say describes my movements. I generally get a swaying of the head mostly towards the right then it kind of pushes ahead till i feel my neck muscles stretch as in a stretching exs. then there are my arms they move gently and finally my hands come to rest in a "blessing" position in front of my heart/ chest. yes the movements are not totally involuntary I can stop them at willbut feels easier to move them. yes I do feel the squiggling at the base of the spine and it might rise up to the whole of the spine and vibrate intensely between the brows. or on the crown( the first time i was worried I thought I had lice in my head...lol) there was a time when the vibrations were so intense I would actually be assured we just experienced an earthquake. the feelings associated are hard to describe I would best put it as sinking , floating or even better just blank.yes sometimes i see blotches of colours floatingencirling each other like green and pink or purple. I have attempted asking my guides several times but I am not yet at the niveau to communicate with my guides!! regards sups |

Sups, I have those exact same movements. Starts with the neck stretch, then the arms, and ends with either prayer position touching my chest or something of a self-hug. Far too coincidental. I'll ask my guides about it next time I talk to them. I've been slacking lately because of IRL BS, but I'll give it a go this evening. As to the feelings. Are you able to differentiate the feeling of energizing a chakra and the kunalini? What you're describing there, to me, sounds more like you're activating your root, brow, and crown chakras moreso than the kundalini. The lice analogy is pretty good. I also can describe the feeling of my active crown as little things crawling on my head, haha! I wouldn't worry too much about the kundalini, though. If you're in trouble, your guides will be screaming and trying their utmost to get in touch with you, throwing as many sychronicities and teachers at you as is meaningful. Alternatively, maybe they are? Ahh, possibilities. |

dhethic ya it will be good if your guides say what the movements mean....it will be good for me to know As for kundalini I am not very clear about the differenciation, as long as things are fine and going the good way I dont really care. |

Wow...I am so gald that I decided to google my concern. I too have had this same experience with my arms. In fact, that is precisely why I ended up here. I first noticed this a couple of years ago. My experience differs only in that I usually stand with my feet apart (same distance as my shoulders for balance) and my arms loosely at my sides and then I begin to deep breathe. While breathing and relaxing for usually under a minute, my arms will slowly raise out to the sides, over my head, in front of me...sometimes with my hands touching in fron of my chest. I feel what I will describe as electricity within the first couple of minutes, where it's like my hair is standing up...but it's not goosebumps, it literally feels like static electricity. My head will often move forward and back, and sometimes side to side. When it's side to side, it usually holds the position for 10 seconds or more. I say "it", because I am not MAKING it happen, rather I am allowing it. I can stop at any time...nothing is controlling me...yet it doesn't feel like ME that's doing it. I am so glad to hear that others have had similar experiences. Many years ago I started meditating, but later stopped because I had a couple of "experiences" while meditating where I got strong intuitions about things. Because I wasn't able to distinguish between an actual threat versus something that I needed to simply be aware of....I stopped. It scared me a little. I felt that I was picking some of these things up too quickly, and without a teacher or someone to guide me through my experiences, I didn't want to get too caught up. Thank you for posting your comment. I feel so much better about everything. Perhaps I will pick up true meditation again. Funny, I was just thinking that I should try yoga. I know that gets the energy flowing! Chao! |

sups, By "IRL BS" I mean "in real life bullshit", IRL here meaning a combination of things not internet-related and mundane. I still haven't gotten to sitting down and having a good talk with my guys, but I think there's a particular reason for it atm. I'll reply here when I do talk to them. |

These involuntary movements you are experiencing are known as kriyas, and are nothing to be scared of. I think a great explanation can be found on the Kundalini Teacher page here: Kundalini-teacher.com - Kriyas QuoteSo think of it as your body shifting itself to facilitate the movement of energy through your body. And just to ease people's fears, here's one discussion of involuntary movement during meditation on another forum, so you'll see that lots of people get them: AYP Support Forums - involuntary movement during meditation |

ApplePie69, I'm glad sups and I were having what definitely seems to be the same experience you've had and that we've had an accessible place to discuss it. The forums here are very, very good and have been for years. If you're interested in getting more perspectives on your other experiences, feel free to describe them here (preferably in their own post, lol). They'll be met very well. Erin has a bunch of articles describing what's going on and what you might expect (Spiritual Wisdom for Conscious People - Erin Pavlina) Also, Anna Conlan (over at » Extra Sensory Perception - Intuitive and Spiritual Development Blog) has a ton of practical, nuts and bolts articles on intuitive development that may shed some light on your experiences. I can't imagine what people did about these situations before the internet. I mean, good luck finding information like whats on Erin's or Anna's sites in a library, you know? You have a pretty positive vibe. Unless that's just your internet persona, you'll probably be ok with meditating, self-inflicted mind jobs aside. The only bad things that can happen are things that you deliberately allow. |

sups and Dhethic, Thank you for the warm welcome and comments. This is the first time visiting (now joining) an internet forum or blog. Your posts make it less intimidating, but I'm still trying to maneuver around and figure out what to do next...there is so much information here. Thank you for the suggestions. I have a lot of reading to do! |
