Reiki Class

I have a teacher that I've *really* wanted to take a class from. I can either track her down as she travels, or I can try to get a critical mass of people here locally.

Does anyone have advice on how to gather a group of people locally who might be interested in this sort of stuff? I have a feeling I might be able to get together enough people (about six), but at the same time, because the energy of the group has to blend well, it can't be just anyone who has the money to show up.

Any suggestions, advice, help? If you're interested in the class yourself, I'm in the Tampa FL area. You can ask me more in a PM so I avoid advertising in this thread.

I live in a very small northern community in Canada - and there is a huge interest in Reiki (very surprising!) - so I'm sure it wouldn't be hard at all to reach a "critical mass" for students in Tampa.

I would put up a poster asking people who are interested in taking a class with this particular teacher to get in contact with you. Put them up in yoga studios, wellness centers and alternative book stores around town. I'm sure you will get at least 6! Good luck!

Thank you Keena! Your suggestions are great. I was feeling a bit lost as to what to do, but everything you brought up not only makes sense, but is likely to work very well!

It's clear to me now that if I want to make something happen it's completely in my power to do so - even if I have to go through a lot of candidates for her to pick 6 that work well together. And of course, I always have the option of improving my finances to the point that tracking her down for all 3 levels of instruction isn't a big deal.
