Hey I have been doing quite a bit of reading about Astral travel ever since I heard sleep paralysis (an experience I have very often) may be an excellent position from which to begin astral travel.

What I have trouble understanding is what is the difference between astral travel and our imagination simply running away with itself?

I have heard that the astral plane is on a higher frequency level and as such it is a highly thought responsive environment. If this is the case then am I am just being conscious of my thoughts as they manifest themselves from my imagination?

I am sorry if this sounds confusing but I guess I am confused! I have had numerous strange sleep experiences and I am just trying to make sense of them. Sometimes I think I am going mad for believing astral travel exists and I sometimes feel even crazier when I try to tell my friends.

I was also wondering if anyone has any good technique for overcoming the extreme fear that usually accompanies my sleep paralysis?

By keeping a journal and taking meticulous notes of your astral travel, dream and imagination experiences, you can in time learn how to differentiate one from another. There is really no quick fix on this.,

Each person has to patiently study their dream sequence experiences, and in consultation with those who are more versed, gradually come to understand how astral travel takes place, how dream can be a combination of imagination and real astral occurrences, and how sleep paralysis can be reduced if not eliminated.
