Default Whats it like during lucid dreaming ?

So what is it like ?

Ive tried astral projection before but i think i need to start out lucid dreaming before i can do that.

Or is it the same as astral projection ?

Is it hard to accomplish ?

In short, Lucid dreaming is becoming completely aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. Once you reach this in your dream state you can COMPLETELY control anything in your dream. It has nothing to do with astral projection, although many people suggest mastering lucid dreaming before astral projection as it is supposed to be easier to learn astral once you've gone lucid.

Erin did a podcast on the subject that I suggest you check out: Lucid Dreaming Podcast

There are also many books on learning techniques to achieve this.

Lucid dreaming is very bright compared to other dreams. When I had one, I didn't know I had control, but I must've had flying on the mind, because that's what I did--and on a magic carpet, no less!

It was amazing! I could feel everything. The movement, the wind, and I felt really alive, wake. I can remember it so vividly even now and that was 3-4 years ago.

Silenced,

Lucid dreams are about as different from regular dreams as they are from real life. Regular dreams are ruled by the subconscious mind, which dampens your senses and makes illogical things seem normal. In contrast, lucid dreams are ruled by both the conscious and subconscious mind. This transforms your dream world into a living alternate reality - where everything you see, hear, feel, taste and even smell can be as authentic as real life.

It also gives you an incredible sense of self awareness; of being present in the dream, right here, right now. You can move and control other elements as you wish - where not even the sky is the limit! Because of this unreal nature of lucid dreams, its not comparable to real life. It's not even comparable to day dreaming - not by a long shot - yet some people often get these concepts mixed up. Lucid dreaming is a unique state, one that you really need to experience to understand. I strongly believe that anyone can experience it, since we all dream every night. Try it and see!

By the way, I've also published my first lucid dream, plus one of my favorite lucid dreams on this page about how I became a lucid dreamer. This might give you a better feel for it: How I Became a Lucid Dreamer

Good luck!

Wow, Thanks for sharing the link Rebecca! I can already tell it's incredibly useful and full of helpful info. I've decided to go lucid recently and am reading up about it through various sources.

Thanks again

Daniel

I took a supplement while body building called zma. Zinc magnesium and a B vitamin. It wasn't that effective for building muscle mass, no significant gains I noticed, but the dreams you have, wow.

The thing is, I wasn't aware it was in a dream. But the dream was ridiculously vivid. There was music playing in it and it felt like a movie. I woke up from the dream and checked my alarm and started getting ready thinking "wow what a crazy ass dream". But guess what? That was dream too. Thinking OMG freaking two dreams like that what the hell is going on here? So I went down stairs and started making myself some breakfast ~ and for a third time, I woke up.

The third time I woke up I wasn't sure if it was a dream or reality. I was thinking is this a dream or reality? I couldn't distinguish between the two since I kept waking up in the same spot, I was waking up from. After about an hour I got to thinking it was reality. Which it was finally.

Lol. Freaking nuts right?

I had some other cool dreams while taking it, but the 3 dreams in one was the craziest and the one that sticks out in my mind.

Get some ZMA from the drug store, it's over the counter. Your suppose to take it wo calcium (stuff like milk) and on an empty stomach. I'll guarantee you'll have some insane dreams before you finish the vitamin bottle.

Crazy eh!! You had what's called multiple false awakenings... False Awakenings and Lucid Dreams

There's a fine line between those and lucid dreams!

Also I think I've read something about Vitamin B and dream intensity. I will have to check it out and come back to you on that....

Hi all! I'm new here so hope to get to know you all a bit with time!

Lucid dreams are AMAZING! You can do anything you want in them. And you can use them for all sorts of things, like trying to get new ideas, solve problems, etc.

Carlos Castaneda describes lucid dreaming in some of his books so you might like to read those. That's where I learned it, yep you can actually learn it from a book!

I guess there must be tons of ways to learn, for me what worked was first just to do lots of dream work (remembering your dreams every day, writing them down, etc.). Then Carlos Casteneda was told that when he was dreaming, as soon as he was aware that he was dreaming, he should look down at his hands. If possible he could try pulling on his fingers too, if they streeeeetched that was like the sign to him that he was in a dream and could therefore do all the things he had set out to do in a dream.

Oh yeah before you go to sleep remind yourself to have a lucid dream that night. When you are dreaming and you become aware that you are dreaming, look at your hands, when you do that that reminds you that you are in a lucid dream and that you can take it from there.

And just keep trying it night after night until it works. It really works. Then you can use your lucid dream to do anything you want. I don't do it anymore because with 2 small kids (who share my bed!) I can never even sleep the whole night through. If I get 3 hours of undisturbed sleep that is a big record now! And I can't do dream journaling anymore because the kids always wake me up and chase the dreams away.

So have fun and enjoy this before the wife (or hubby!) and babies come along!

It´s easy to describe what lucid dreaming is like. Just take a look around you right now, experience all the sights, sounds and smells, pick up a pencil and feel it in your hand. Pinch yourself in the arm and feel the pain! You´ll feel that in a lucid dream too, unless you decide that you can´t feel pain in your dreams, then you won't. I can go on forever with examples, but I think it´s best to experience it yourself.

If you want to find out for yourself what lucid dreaming is like, buy Stephen LaBerge's book 'Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming'. That´s the number one book on how to have lucid dreams. While Carlos Castaneda describes lucid dreaming in his books, those books don´t come close to Stephen LaBerge´s books.
