Default I feel other people's pain

I have a few situations that make me confident of what I'm saying. What do you call this type of sensitivity? Here are a few stories:

- one day I was driving home and was attempting to make a left turn but was delayed by an accident in the middle of the intersection. I thought to myself that I hoped everyone was ok in the vehicles. At that exact moment, the left side of my neck started hurting and didn't stop until I reached home. Perhaps someone had whiplash??

- one night at 10:30pm out of the blue I started feeling nautious and really needed to lay down. The next morning I rec'd a call from my father saying he brought my mother to the emergency. I asked him what time of night (knowing full well of the answer) and he said 10:30pm.

- In my office I started having strange pains in my left shoulder day after day. I expressed this to the person in the one desk over and he pin-pointed that he had the same pains.

- I was washing my hands in the ladies room and the automatic faucet was still running a tad longer then the normal shutoff time. Always documenting time when different situations occur, I looked at my watch and was exactly 12:06pm. My son was born 12:06am so I immediately thought of him and hoped he was ok. I rec'd a phone call from the school later that day that he broke his thumb so we spent the evening in the emergency.

I think it may have something do with 2nd chakra.. maybe you should read up on the chakra's and abilities.. if you don't want it, you should be able to find a way to close it..

It sounds like some very powerful form of psychic power. i have no idea what it would be though.

Very impressive though.

Hi myjourney11,

The gift you have is empathy, of the physical kind. If it continues, you might want to read Rose Rosetree's book 'Empowered by Empathy'. I also wrote a more general article on overactive empathy, it might be helpful for you to understand it further:

Look up "Clairsentience".

Empath is where you pick up other people's emotions. Feeling other's pain I think is called Clairsentience. I totally understand what you are talking about.

You want to definitely learn about balancing, cleansing and charging chakras as well as white light protection.

An example: I am taking care of my neighbor who has had a horrible fall and back injury that ended with a rod up six vertibrates in her spine. When she is in pain and needs meds, I feel it..sometimes just until I realize she needs meds, and other times I cannot shake it until HER pills kick in for her. While I can block this, I prefer not to for now because I have to leave her alone once in a while, and if she falls...I will KNOW. (tho it is exhausting to keep a constant connection..really it is. I am getting better at shutting it down at night when her husband is home and re-opening it the next day when I am about to go over to help her, for the day. Some nights it is a challenge to shake this connection, because it is so exhausting.) She also has a dog with itchy skin allergies and a cat with neck pain..so I itch and ache in the mornings until her dog gets a benadryl and the cat gets a neck massage. lol

Blessings,
Rebecca

Hi myjourney11 -
I agree with Anna - you are empathic. Empaths are like sponges - they can absorb mental/emotional and/or physical imbalances/disruptions from those around them.

Going grocery shopping used to be a nightmare for me - or any where that a lot of people had traveled through.

Shielding often helps the empath from absorbing so much (white light bubble around yourself).

Also educating yourself on the topic. Read about empaths or HSP (highly sensitve people).

You are not alone - and empathy is on the rise.

Oh Wonderful!!!!

If empathy is on the rise, I can't wait til someone makes me good and mad..so I can poke myself in the eye...that'll show 'em.

All kidding aside tho....I use white light protection and I can usually spread out my solar plexus chakra to ease the brunt of the symptoms I pick up in waiting room at doctors office and at grocery stores and stuff, but with some people....like the lady I am caregiving for, I am not yet sure if it is something I cannot...or something I just "choose" to not cut away from..since knowing her pain before it is bad enough for her to say something, does help in providing proper pain management for her. Feeling what she feels, is how I will know she has fallen and cannot get up, if she is left alone. It is not pleasant, but it could always be worse.

Blessings,
Rebecca
