Default Sudden awareness of my third eye or mere sympathy pang?

So, I was listening to Erin and Steve's podcast on being psychic (Podcast no. 21, I believe) - I'm not really 'into' that stuff, but I try to keep an open mind. As soon as Erin talked about what happened when she was four, getting hit in the third eye, I got a sympathy pang - this is normal for me. Someone says they got punched in the face buy this hulking mass of muscle they looked at funny, my cheekbone hurts, guy gets kicked in the groin, I wince involuntarily and get a slight pain in my own naughty bits. It's just a physical reaction that passes quickly.

However, this time, it kept up long after it normally would, peaking at certain points, particularly when Erin was giving tales of her supernatural experiences. I'm still feeling it as I type this.

In my Christian upbringing, I occasionally thought I felt a presence (most often, a mysterious warm or cold spot), but it was never more than a slight feeling - y'know, those crazy fleeting notions most people get when they're say, walking through a graveyard alone at night or something - and usually left me wondering whether to tell the pastor or get therapy. In fact, I'm an Atheist now, and thinking about the latter thanks to tonight.

I find this experience interesting, but it may well just be my exceptionally vivid imagination.

On a slightly less serious note, I have the embarrassing trait of getting a unibrow if I get lazy with plucking. Does that have anything to do with third eyes, or is it just your average unfortunate physical trait?

Red face

Well, I've had something similar, without the influence.

I was talking to a friend and then we parted, and suddenly I saw the clearest picture of her in my mind's eye (third eye) and BAM!

A sudden pang of pain, it was enough to stop me in my tracks to wonder what was going on, then trying to ignore it and go on.

Ends up, this friend whom I believed to be so faithful and true to me, turned on me and left me, in basic terms.

But since you're listening to Erin and feeling this, it may be a spirit guide trying to wake up up or your higher self saying, "Hey buddy, don't ignore me anymore!"

Do some self-discovery. You may be atheist, but atheist people below in nothing at all. You would not even be considering this if you were. It's a title. Faith and believe is not religion.

Well, yeah, I beleive in being spiritual and all that; I just don't really know what to think of spirits now...it was quite clear as a Christian - I beleived in angels and demons and souls, but I'm questioning the concept of souls and have shucked beleif in "angels" and "demons" per se - though, applying the idea of spirits with varying vibrations does appeal to me.

I guess I'll have to look into this more and see if I can get in touch with my spirit guide(s) and higher self...and try not to question my own sanity too much in the process...>_>;

That's understandable.

The Christian religion, talking about the actual followers, are very hypocritical. I have nothing against that religion, nor any other ones, but I'm not all for worshipping a human, even if it is supposed to be God in the form of one.

I stick with God, then messengers, and break it down to angels, demons, spirit guides, that drill.

Souls, that is a very questioning concept, but we do have them, which once out of the body we are not physically anything alike as on Earth.

Angels might have wings, as depicted in many pictures, but what makes an angel, is that it is a higher up being and has high vibration levels. Angels, in my view it. can be bad or good depending on how you view it. Same with demons. They have negative vibrations, but I don't necessarily view them as good or evil. That distinct line isn't for my crossing.

I gave up trying to hold my sanity a while ago, when my own mind started collapsing in and driving me to extreme paranoia, but I do know this, when I'm with the spirit guides and I'm listening in my meditation silence, I feel very calm and no longer the feeling of 'needing' or 'wanting'. Very complete. Good luck with your journey. ^^

Just an update on this; I've tried contacting my spirit guide (or at least, one of them) through guided meditation. He turned up as a male energy (I could see the shape of a distinctly male, muscular body, his lower body kind of melting into the lake in the imagery I was conjuring up via the guided meditation, but there were no facial features present. I'm not sure if it's me or him that chose that form to appear in; I don't claim a lot of knowledge about these things) and the name "Michelangelo" popped into my mind immediately upon seeing him.

I wasn't sure what to say, so I didn't ask any questions. He seemed understanding of this, and gave off a comforting, positive sensation...kind of a wordless way of saying "I'm here if you need me". I haven't meditated very much since; I think I need a quieter spot than my house for it (particularly since as of today, my housemates have begun blasting Christmas music ^^; ).
