One of my hobbies is learning to play bass guitar. Often a funny thing happens: when I'm playing I suddenly remember random parts of random dreams I've had, even dreams that happened many years ago, they come to me like flashbacks, without trying. Any idea why this does happen?

This is normal, that what is experienced in dreams is played back in the mind at a later time. The dream experience may b e one that was recalled before or was not recalled at all, but which was lodged into the subconscious mind and held there and then released into the conscious mind as a memory which is adjusted by the imagination faculty Whatever obsession you have or whatever you have as a favorite hobby will be pursued by you in conscious or unconscious states, and then it will cause a memory which will be conscious or subconscious. Any of these memories might be activated later when you are doing a related activity. It will then appear in your mind as a sound or picture or combination of both. This will interact with other thoughts and will influence your actions. A flashback is for real. It is a memory image of something experienced before or it may be an actually return to an experience from before. In a sense whatever was experienced in the past is still being experienced, or is still existing. Thus if you have the mystic means, you may flash back into it by dimension transfer. I have psychic flashes when position my patients for their exams. For instance I'll clearly see a Walmart and if I sort of fib to the patient and say "Did you say last year that you were working for Walmart Corporate?" They'll say "No, but I was just thinking about my son's new job at WalMart." Stuff like that. I think there are activities that make the mind passive but in a higher brain wave pattern which makes connections to the subconscious and to the ethereal planes more open. Jennifer |

I notice that I remember random dreams when I kind of zone out. So maybe when you're playing the bass your mind gets really relaxed on the flow of playing that your seemingly zoning out mind is actually remembering subconscious memories of dreams? i feel like i made that more complicated than i meant to.. |

One of my businesses involves a great deal of sewing and I always receive fantastic ideas while at the sewing machine. I keep a pen and paper by the machine to write them down. When my conscious mind falls into the repetitive state, I am more open to receive. Maybe you'll have to keep a pen and paper by your bass!

Same exact thing when I play my keyboard and write music, except it's not dreams, it's extremely valuable insights about my life and my friends and family. Your mind is more ready to receive psychic thoughts, dream memory, and intuition when you are not thinking logically, and on physical matters.
