Tarot blocks

I'm a new tarot reader. I have great days when everything is clear and accurate, and days when the cards seem to purposely give me faulty info. on basic test questions like "Am I a man?" (I'm not, the cards said I am.) What can I do to get over these blocks, what is it about me that is making the cards rebel?

Are you cleansing your deck of negative energy, regularly?

Also, Are you sure the deck isn't trying to validate/warn of/confirm, a man in your life that has a profound effect on the situation you are trying to get a reading about? (It could also be advising to get more in tune with your masculine energy...or how that energy is effecting a situation.)

Keep notes, so that you will understand later on, exactly what it meant.

No, Im not cleansing it and dont know how to- what do you suggest? I dont let anyone touch the cards and I sleep with them under my pillow. When I take them somewhere I wrap them up.

What I meant when I said I ask the cards "am I a man" is that I use simple, obvious test questions when I begin a session, to sort of calibrate the cards, before I ask the real questions. I also use "Is my middle name Elizabeth", etc.

I have had enormously successful sessions reading for other people, and then on some days the cards just seem to be grumpy and uncooperative.

I do write everything down. A psychic/medium suggested I ask my dad (who visits me in spirit form) everyday to help me with the cards. I did, and thats when things got blocked. I also have a mischievious great grandfather who always wants in on the action but often sends confusing/contradictoy info, innocent as it is.

I suggest you do a google search on cleansing a tarot deck and take the information that you feel is right, and utilize it.

There are so many ways to cleanse a deck, from sage smudging, praying over them, shuffling them a certain way, sprinkling with salt water..the options are endless.

It all boils down to what "feels" right for you.

I personally use several methods, but if I give my methods, the way I blogged the white light protection and filtering, I will be forced to find something new, as there is always energy out there that will break down your barriers as soon as it is written or spoken, what is working for you. I have recently been forced to hold my cards close to my chest where energy work is concerned. All that I can say is research it, and find what works best for you.

A tarot deck will send mixed signals, if the unwanted energies are not removed.

Rebecca, yes I understand having to find your own method of doing things. Are you saying that you had a method of doing something and by writing about it, it became less effective via popular knowledge/ evil doers? Thats interesting.

Yes, that is what I am saying. It may not be the same for others. It seemed to be the case, with me.

Ditch the test questions and focus. The Tarot is not designed for yes/no questions and they are making you question yourself. Trust.

Yes I know what you mean by the yes/no questions, except that I was using that method until I got to better know the meanings of the cards themselves. Still, your post made me realize I need to get on to that next step sooner.
