Dowsing (I think...)

I'm not sure if this is actual dowsing or not, but I bought a pendulum with a really pretty chain on it, was actually liking the chain as a keychain (it had pretty chakra stones), while the pendulum stone was rose quartz. After using it for a few days as a keychain it broke, and I brought it back to the store, and the storeowner fixed it. He told me that either I could return it or keep it, and I chose to keep it, but not as a keychain anymore (it was too delicate to be banged around like that). So I decided to start asking it questions, with the intent that these questions were going to my higher self, or guides or whomever..
I found that every question that I asked came out right, those that I knew the answers to, and those that I didn't till later. The yes for this pendulum was a circle, and the no was a straight line back and forth. I kept asking my guides and my angels to help me, and I kept getting (again and again) answers that were completely accurate.
So what I want to know is: has anyone else had this experience with pendulums? What exactly does it mean?

Yes, this is dowsing. Since you intended to get your answers from your Higher self via the pendulum, that's what's going on.

I use dowsing in my readings and find it to be really accurate.

To ensure accuracy, you have to attune the pendulum to your Higher Self first but it sounds like you've already done that.

Hi,

You attune it by setting a specific intention to receive/check information from a certain Source, like your Higher self or the Akashic Record. The intention is usually in the form of a prayer request. You could probably make up your own - the intention behind it is what matters. Andrea Hess also has one in her book Unlock your Intuition - there's a lot of dowsing info in there.
