Astral Projection: Reality, imagination, or what!? Hi, Recently I've become interested in concept of Astral Travel. I haven't acheived the levels of meditation necessary yet to be able to feasibly have such an experience, but i was wondering what the experience is like for people who claim to have done this? Certain questions like do you really see yourself leave your body? Is everything in the experience THAT REAL, or is it more of a deep visualisation induced in profound states of realisation? Is there a difference!!?? An interesting reason for asking this is that recently my mother (who was diagnosed with Schizophrenia a few years ago) iniated a conversation with me out of the blue about occasionally "flying", and "leaving her body". She claimed basically to on a few occasions gone flying through the clouds etc as a spirit. Having heard of Astral Projection I was intrigued... |
As others may mention, I've written about several of my astral experiences in my blog. But to answer your questions briefly... I sort of stretch out of my body and then when I look back I can see the shell/body lying on my bed. yes it really feels THAT REAL. It feels more real than when you're encased in the body. Your consciousness is free. It's an amazing and unique feeling that I wish everyone could feel at least once. We've had some discussions in this forum about how to achieve astral states. Read through the old threads and see if they help. Learning lucid dreaming is a good first step. |
Welcome jaiysun44! You might be interested in the other threads here about astral projection, as well as Erin's blog posts on the topic. |
There is a good chance of her experiencing Astral Projection at that point. Flying dreams are mostly related to Astral Projection. Everyone does it every night. Most people don't remember. Your mother may still have schizophrenia but that doesn't mean she didn't experience the other as well. Happy Easter. |
Astral projection is basically directing your consciousness into other dimensions. It can be a very useful tool. |
In Robert Monroe s books he did a few experments where he would go to a person in his astral body witness something and ask in the phy. if it was as he witness it. There is a storie of a woman in a hospitle that had a o.b.e. she saw a pair of sneakers on a high ledge that was not easy to see. A matinace worker varified her storie. There are many other stories . desert rat |
It doesn't get more real. Because, as a person, you are going that way, out, and you feel it physicly. The sensation is like no other you will have experienced in your life, and so you might not go too far at first. A dream is a dream, and it can be absolutly amazing. If very lucid, you could definitly say it was real, how was it not...like I've had some great surfing dreams, so real that to me it was a full on experience. Im aware it was in my "mind". But I've been working on astral projection, and not only may it involve many different things, it can feel from deeply horrific, to endlessly enlightening. I know myself that I dont look at life the same as before my experiences. |
