I have been reading up AP for a while now, and have had a few experiences in it myself. But I am not ready, even though I want to be. The furthest I have gotten when it comes to AP is extreme buzzing, and vibrations. Especially around my head and upper-body area. When this happens to me, I ALWAYS freak; which causes me to hold my breath and in-turn wake me up from the experience. I would like to go further with this, but frankly: I am too scared about what will happen. I have read that some people have seen "evil" beings in their rooms when they go Astral which really gets me spooked. If I am going to do it, then I would want to feel safe. The last experience I had, the vibrations got REALLY intense and then I started to feel as if something was pulling me out of my body; which has put me off even attempting AP as I feel that something is trying to get me If any of you experience Projecters out there have anything to say that might make me feel safer, or have any tricks up your sleeves I would be extremely greatful for you to share them with me here! As well as if anyone else feels the same way, please feel free to share your feeling here too! |

I've never practiced AP but please permit me to give you my opinion. Usually when you are trying this kind of things, you are using a lot of imagination, and since the brain does not distinct if the experience you are doing is real or imaginary this will have an huge impact on your thinking. Therefore, If I were in you, I would prepare myself before taking the experience. For what I know, when you enter AP you will encounter both angels and demons. I think this is because your mind already have positive and negative thoughts. If you are scared about something, for example evil, try to defeat it in the 'real world' before taking the trip. |

You have to conquer your fear in order to experience the fruits of AP. What’s the worst that can happen to you? You die or get possessed by a demon? These are very unlikely outcomes. It’s harder than it sounds, as you know, but you just have to learn not to fear anything—to enter the Astral realms open and willing to learn, whether or not that learning is always pleasant. Read around and you will find lots of advice about “feeling safe.” Mantras and “protective light” can go a long way in giving you confidence. Remember, mainly, that you ARE in control of the experience. You can return to your body at any time. I have encountered various spirits and “forms” in the Astral realm. Sometimes they made me laugh, sometimes they scared me. AP is a mind-opening experience—a positive one in most cases—it should be approached with caution, but fear will only limit your experience—with AP or anything for that matter. |

Philemon is correct. Fear is something that you absolutely need to overcome in order to successfully AP. The feeling of being pulled from your body is natural. It's not actually something else pulling you, it is the feeling of your spirit separating from the body. You do not need to worry about demons possessing you because the spirit doesn't ever fully leave the body until death. Overall the risk is minimal, but you do control your own experience, and the fear needs to go.

I experience AP a few times – but making a clear distinction on events in not always clear. Never have I experienced fear on any level, though slight paranoia. I was, however, completely overwhelmed on one occasion. Aside from that, I never intended nor worked in any way to provoke the journey. And I do mean journey, for my AP experiences did not involve another location on this Earth. Oddly enough, when experiencing these episodes I can return to my body at will and with no difficulty. I can also slip right back out. These experiences always end with me simply returning at my leisure. Then again, maybe it was the pot.
