Default Having trouble lucid dreaming

Long story short, I've been trying to lucid dream with absolutely no success. I try and keep concious while falling asleep, but I'm just ending up asleep. An effect I HAVE seen is that I'm having clearer, more frequent, and more easily remembered dreams, which is pretty exceptional for me since I used to almost never dream. In terms of experience with lucid dreaming, I've only had one before in which I became concious almost immediately, but I didn't really know about lucid dreaming then. I what level of control I'd had and actually died in the dream. Ever since I've been trying to lucid dream on purpose because I find the idea VERY appealing.

Any help you guys can provide would be great.

Peace

Start doing reality checks all the time. Analyze your dream journal (you have one started, right?!) for common themes or 'dream signs'.

Also, as you drift off set the intention to have a lucid dream.

The wiki article on lucid dreaming actually gives quite a nice overview: Lucid dream - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Full disclosure: I've personally only had about half a dozen lucid dreams, most of them I've tried to fly, and it worked, my heart rate exploded and I woke up! I'm not an expert by any means, but I find the subject very interesting.

Good luck!

I did a whole lot of reflection yesterday, thinking about my childhood and what life was like back then, and my next dream was the most vivid, adventurous dream I've had in a few months. I'd suggest visualizing the best dream you've had recently in full detail, and set the intention to dream that again.

Disclaimer: I haven't had any meaningful lucid dreams either, but I only started thinking about lucid dreams a month ago.
