Default Help with possible clairaudience

I always 'hear' these high pitched tones that no one else could hear. They really meant nothing, and when I asked if someone heard it, they don't hear anything. I have been hearing these tones for about two or so years. I pushed it away until last evening, during a meditation. It was lower than normal, and I got the thought that it might be ESP.

So, now after searching on this forum and Google for clairaudience, I need help developing or understand this tone I am hearing. I am a little excited about this, and I might be jumping ahead.

I'm of two minds about that tone. I've heard it my whole life. Thought it was neat and something special, but didn't know what. Then I took a Sensation and Perception class in college and told the teacher about the tone and he said it's nothing mystical, but I can't remember how he explained it, but it was a very normal and medical thing.

So for a long time I accepted this explanation.

Now, though, when I get the tone I take notice of my thoughts in that moment to see if there is a message in there somewhere. Often there is. But often I can discern nothing of interest.

My best guess is that it is a normal medical phenomenon. Does anyone have any info on this?

Closest thing: tinnitus

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Tinnitus can be perceived in one or both ears or in the head. It is usually described as a ringing noise, but in some patients it takes the form of a high pitched whining, buzzing, hissing, screaming, humming, or whistling sound, or as ticking, clicking, roaring, "crickets" or "tree frogs" or "locusts", tunes, songs, or beeping.[3] It has also been described as a "wooshing" sound, as of wind or waves.[4] Tinnitus can be intermittent or it can be continuous. In the latter case, this "phantom" sound can create great distress in the sufferer.
Would sound like it, eh? BUT:
Quote:
Most people with tinnitus have hearing loss[5] with the pitches in what they have hearing impairment linked to those in which they hear tinninus.[6] This has led to the suggestion that one cause of tinnitus might be a homeostatic response of central dorsal cochlear nucleus auditory neurons that makes them hyperactive in compensation to auditory input loss.[7]
In which case, I have no hearing loss, and my ears are fine besides a bad ear infection early in life.

Hi st33med -
There was another posting on this forum about ringing in the ears / tinnitus - perhaps some of those postings may help?

There was also 'hearing tones in right ear' -

Just some things to think about.

Spirits phone call? Interesting, but I wouldn't know. I have not developed any sort of psychic clairvoyance yet...

In which case, my psychic answering machine must be full by now

I wrote a short post about this in another thread where I linked to an article on this subject by Slade Roberson, a professional clairaudient psychic.

While you should probably get it checked out if you think it's something serious (maybe you should get it checked out anyway)--something that might need medical attention--one could even say that even something serious that needs medical attention is symbolic of something (but that doesn't mean you should just sit there studying it; if you need or desire medical attention, by all means, get it).

A year ago I'd give myself a funny look if I said that, but these days I've adopted more of a magical world view, being more open to how I interpret the things around me and more consciously (intuitively?) interpreting the meanings I assign to them.

I have what some might call tinnitus. I'd say that I developed it from being exposed to very loud noise for a long(ish) period of time. Is that a manifestation--is it symbolic--of something deeper? Perhaps.

For me this is moderately synchronistic....

Before I read about tinnitis (i knew about tinnitis as a "ringing in the ears" but only vaguely its exact symptoms), anyway, before I read in detail about tinnitis I would acknowledge it as a maybe-ESP maybe-ET communcation maybe-Pleiadeans screwing with me.

Then, after reading up, my perception of reality totally shifted. Basically I gained a belief from the Wikipedia/internet that it's activated through the nervous system and not through an actual physical defect in the ear. Mind you there is a physically-caused tinnitis as well.

By the way, my tinnitis is always the pitch A-flat. I have no idea why.

I've had these high pitched noises in one or both of my ears every now and then too.

Does this have anything to do with the high pitched noise I hear when there is complete silence? I find that if I get into a room that is completely silent, within five minutes I hear a high-pitched hum, and it doesn't go away unless there is a large air disturbance within the room I'm in. For example, I could hear this noise for a while, then maybe hear some conversation in the room below me, but nothing changes. However, if a fan comes on in the room I'm in, or if someone enters the room and starts talking, the noise disappears. Is this normal too/the same thing being discussed?

I noticed the ringing sound after I started developing more of the abilities. I am much more sensitive to sound now than before. Now I absolutely cannot stand city life though I used to love the noise. It's audible in my left ear and when I'm in bed, both ears. If I concentrate, it gets louder in both ears. When I'm in a louder place it gets drowned out, but I don't doubt it's still there. It's there all the time when I'm in a quiet place. I'm clairaudient.

Either, the ringing noise happened 'cause I'm on the phone with my girlfriend 5 hours a day for some time now (long dist) and my hearing's slightly damaged, or it's some byproduct psychic ability. Or some other medical condition.

Hi KazeCraven. Your post really startled me coz I have experienced the exact phenomenon! But until a few yrs back. It is probable that I have not paid much conscious attention to it and so haven't really observed it much recently. Its this constant high pitched hum, yes. Not a whoosh, not a ringing. Anyway, it may be a medical condition as being discussed. (though I have been exposed quite a lot lesser to concerts/discos/clubs)
