Is there a difference between "remote viewing" and astral travel?

Hi Everyone!
This is my VERY first experience in blogging, chatting and whatever else communicating on the internet is called, so please bear with me if I seem a bit slow at times.
For at least the past 13 years I have wakened during the early morning hours with vibrations that never manifested into anything. Probably because I didn't know what the heck they were. I didn't think "bodies" could vibrate! However, now that I am retired things have really kicked up a notch and I not only have vibrations each day between 2-6 am I have also "seen" people moving (as if I am watching a movie, flown through open windows and doors (what a MAGNIFICENT experience that was!) and checked out my living room when I was out of town. So now I'm trying to find other people who have experienced similar things and ask if these events are for my enjoyment only or if there is something else going on (have no idea what that could be). Anyway, that is a brief synopsis of why I am visiting your very impressive website.

remote viewing is staying in your body and sending yoru mind out to another location to view what's going on there, I believe in real time, in the present.

Astral projection involves you leaving your body and traveling on the astral plane, interacting with other beings there, and seeing things.

Thank you for the definition. I thought your explanation of remote viewing is exactly what I am witnessing, but wasn't sure. I see people, objects moving as if I were watching them on TV. Quite interesting even though most of the time I don not know who they are, I HAVE seen I QUITE sure, my grandkids who live in another state. Is this something that would develop into "mediumship"? Because I am so new to this I'm not sure exactly what to do with it, i.e., just enjoy or really work at gaining more information. This is one reason I joined your blog; primarily to pick a lot of people's brains. I journal all experiences. Thanks again for the definition.
