Default Pets, what do you think?

Just curious on perception of pets. My mom once bought me a magnet, that I still have till this day, "Heaven forbid that I should go to heaven where there are not horses"... So true, so true....

When I was 12 I got a horse, and I named her Cherokee's Pride (henseforth cheropride); I named her after my partial heritage Cherokee Indian(my dad was 1/2 Cherokee and he died when I was only 1).... This horse was special, together I trained her at the ripe old age of 12 , we won State Champship 5 times... kewl... But it was much more than that, she was truly my childhood friend, my best fried. It was a bound that can't be explained...

I got her when she was 3, and she past when she was 26. The day she past, she actually waited for me. I walked up to the pasture, (she had not been sick it was a freak thing...), I heard her whinny for me, walked up to me, nudge me (gosh till this day hurts), whinned again, then laid down. I sat down w/her head in my lap and she died with in a minute....

Devistated for long time, and as time heals all wounds, I started to dream about her constantly. The most beautiful and lucid dreams, she was always there. I know this may sound crazy to some, but I still say till this day she is with me. She died in 1995, and yes, this 2009, and this one horse (and I have several), I still feel is with me. She still comes to me in my dreams, and they are the sweetiest dreams. I can feel her, I can smell her, I can feel the texture of her coat..... Those type of dreams, that you awake immediately, cause it felt so real... Never do I dream about her death, it always just us, in the most beautiful places, some places we have been together, some I have never seen... Till this day, it happens sometimes once a week, sometimes more sometimes less. It's not like I am thinking of her or anything, she just comes in my dreams....

So do you believe that our beloved pets wait for us on the otherside. I know that I do, just curious on others thoughts....

Hey she must have a pretty strong pull on me, till this day my email is cheopride, in honor of my Sweet Cherokee's Pride....

Hi cheropride -
Absolutely yes, our pets await us on the other side...and many visit us while we are still on earth - whether in our dreams or otherwise.

What a beautiful story - and a wonderful gift she has given you.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you... Ya know had a bad day, was sitting in my backyard, just letting go of the day, and there she was. She comes to me, without a thought, just out of the blue....I could almost close my eyes, and see her my backyard walking up to me, to give me that gentle nudge. One of the sweetiest things she would do, is I would gab hold of her neck, and she would take her head and press down on back (hug me back)... And with that flashback, it made my day just seem a little better, and yes, she is a wonderful gift, she truly is....

So I thought that I would share.... Thanks... Jan.... Thank you....

oh yes, cheropride - they most certainly do wait for us, and do come to visit and make their presence known in many ways, catching a whiff of their smell, connecting in a dream, feeling their presence pop in at the oddest times when you weren't even thinking of them. You see, after death - like us - they too go to astral body. They can see us in this earthly, lower vibration realm, but we cannot see them for the most part, though this does happen too. We are also an astral body - combined with this human body when we're in this earthly existence. So, I think of it like this... their astral body is snuggling up to our astral body, though we have trouble sensing it because we are tied to our physical bodies and our lower vibration in this realm cannot sense their higher vibration on the astral plane.

Animals are fiercely loyal to their humans, in life and in death. They will never leave us. Having lost a very dear pet myself, I take great comfort that she is still around me at times and I can feel her presence and sometimes can smell her scent on occaision. I believe that they go to the same astral plane that we will go to eventually, and they will have no trouble finding us. I too grew up with horses and I know the special bond that you have with them. It's unlike any other kind of pet, though I never really thought of my horse as a pet ... more like a noble and respected comrade - if you understand what I mean.

Hope that helps.

I definitely think that this horse is trying to tell you that she is ok and that she is waiting for you so that you would eventually be together again.

I used to believe that our pets awaited us on the other side..and that may be the case for some of our pets throughout our lifetime.

I do also think that when you find that one special pet, that seems irreplaceable, they do come back and spend another incarnation with us if the last one was cut short, or left us feeling overly empty inside. (Everyone experiences sadness when losing a pet, but when the absence is an eery feeling, it is most likely because that animal is coming back so their place is saved there for their return.) Just my belief.

I believe this has happened already twice in my life. The boxer I have now, is exactly the same soul as the one our family grew up with. We have all had boxers since..(soem of us..several)hoping to have one like our original Champ..and I got him, in my
Duke. My last doberman (Schatzi) was reincarned of the one prior to her(Steele). Gestation was to the day, from the day the first was put down. The second dobe died of the same thing as the first...cancer..at the same age the first one was. (two different types..first one in the sinus and bone ..second one died from lymphoma after two years of remission. But, both still cancer.)

Cheropride,

I think this happens, because we had something to learn from that pet, and we didn't learn it in their first incarnation. I think that if anyone ever finds that baby pet that sparks that something in their heart and they just feel that is the possibility, they should indeed take them home again..and cherish every moment, and do not feel cursed when the next one goes at the same age from the same ailment. It was a replay that you were blessed to experience.

Perhaps it is time for another horse. If this horse is trying to tell you that it is time to find her, then I am sure that you will just "happen upon" the next one, either coincidentally or if and when you decide to go rescue one, she may be waiting for you.

I wish you the best.
Blessings to you,
Rebecca

Pets, what do you think?

I guess I should say I don't think much on this.. I trust information I have read/understand..

It's my understanding per my teachers.. that's pets are mostly much more connected with who they are then of course us.. a cat doesn't plan there day out that first they'll go here, then here etc. a cat just from moment to moment chooses where it goes (and this in general goes for all animals)

There are however animals we have messed with vibrationally such as dogs, chimps and who knows what.. that are not always connected and allow us to mess with their normal circumstance..

Wait.. nope not really.. I'm sure that your horse has likely re-incarnated now but then again the truth is your horse isn't dead either.. since time is a illusion.. and all of time is right now.. there is no past per say..

The only truth to it is.. your horse isn't alive in your perceived time space reality.. to your apparent knowledge..

But you should know in thinking about your horse.. you are re-activating the past and you are even making a connection to that entity and they know on some level your thinking about them.. I wouldn't waste any of my life on negative feelings like regret, lack, sadness, guilt because they wouldn't want you to either..

Oh yes, it is for sure time for another horse.... Ahhhh I so feel that. But right now, financially and time wise, unable to do so. But oh yea, that day will come, and yes, I have that same thought and belief, that they for sure can come back in another form/animal...

As for regret, have none, there is no sorrow w/this experience at all, it actually brings me a little happiness just knowing...

Thanks for everyone's response, they are all a great read!!!

Take care. Beck...

Chero,

I haven't personally experienced a cat come back as a dog..but a dog come back as a dog. If the horse is your totem animal, chances are she will come back as a horse.

The financial burden of acquiring another horse is almost a blessing. You see, if you can only afford to look for that horse that is free to a good home, or an adoption in exchange for volunteering your time at a shelter for horses or something...perhaps that is where your horse is waiting for you.

My second dobe...I was distraught and heartbroken and just wanted a pup to fill the void. My dad called to see if there was a pup at the rescue around here, and told the lady about how I was taking care of grampa and how grampa wanted to see me happy again..knowing how empty I was without my Steele. It turned out that coincidentally a pup was just dropped off and tho there was a waiting list for pups at the time...the lady called and said "It's hers." She later told me this was because she also had to take care of her mother with the same congestive heart failure and diabetes that my grampa had and it struck a cord for her...and she even waived the adoption fee. (to this day, I still think My grampa payed for it and told her to give me that story...but when I went back for my third dobe...she still denied it..so who knows).

Anyway, My point is...if your horse is ready to come back to you..circumstances will arise that allow you to have that horse. Just because you cannot afford to go out and buy a horse at market price..does not mean that you cannot acquire THE ONE. Watch for signs. Keep your eyes peeled and keep in close contact with the rescues. Put yourself on a waiting list and volunteer your time. (This way you get that contact with horses, and fill a little gap temporarily until you do find that horse...and it is good for your soul and your karma to do so. Consider all those horses out there whos owners didn't love them, care for them or just hit financial ruin and could no longer keep and love them.) Anyway, if you are looking for rescues and find the name of one and something in your heart jerks..you are probably in the right ballpark..well on your way.

I hope you fill that void, and find that love in your life again.

Blessings,
Rebecca

Oh I totally agree w/what you are saying, (sorry for the delay in posting..) I would surely adopt, not a problem. The only issue right at this point is I live in Fort Lauderdale, whereas anything remotely close by for boarding the horse would be alot of money. (In 2000 I was paying over $300 month just for a stall)...

I am in no way down, I truly believe that there is a reason for every season in our lives. I know that some day that when it is meant to be, it will surely be, no doubt. Right now my true joy is my son, and that's fine for me for now...

I just love the fact that everyone now and then my Cherokee comes back to me in my dreams, and/or my thoughts, and we take a little ride....
