Lucid Dreams a form of control by the ego? I've experienced lucid dreams from the age of 11. They transpired after a series of nightmares and then in my waking day I realised that the dreams were my own creation thus I did not have to be frightened/threatened in them and could manifest something equally powerful so the dream would go "my way". 20 years on I experience flying, peace, psychic abilities, transformation of global tradgeies like famine, earthquakes. Ive even squared up the injustices of the holocaust and the Taleban! I've been going along my own merry lucid journey quite happily, but for the past few months I have been exploring another opinion to lucid dreaming and that is that it is simply the ego controlling your dream life also and to reach true transcendence and enlightenment you must learn to let this go and allow your sub conscious to relinquish to the universe. I first read the idea in Eckhart Tolles fantastic book A New Earth (and Power of Now). Something about what he wrote rung true with me, and since then I have sought out more and more articles and opinions on the subject. Indeed my own lucid dreaming begun as a form of switching from the total loss of control of nightmares to the absolute in control of lucid dreaming. I am an exceptionally driven and motivated person in my waking life. I'm considering trying to dream "unlucidly" for a while (very difficult as 95% of my dreams are lucid) and to see where that journey will take me and teach me. Id love to hear others opinions, and especially how to NOT have lucid dreams if that is possible......... |
I don't allow all my dreams to be lucid either. I want to give my subconscious a chance to shout at me and tell me things. I think it's very healthy to have both kinds of dreams. With lucid dreaming you get a chance to consciously create your world, which helps you do it while awake. That's a huge benefit in my opinion. |
Your ego is a good guy. Listening too much to it is not good, but there's no reason to disregard it completely. Your ego is there to protect yoy, the ultmost lightworker wouldn't be able to help too much if he starves to death due to ignoring his ego too much... |
I realised that the dreams were my own creation Besides the dreams which are a person's own creations, there are dreams which are in actual dimensions which exist regardless of the person's imagination. I feel it is important to research such places, just as people go to foreign countries for tourism. |
