Hi, Does anyone have a theory or explanation as to why synchronicity, dejavu, coincidences, the wheel of fate, parallel situations, and irony in life happen? Sometimes I feel like humans are puppets for the cosmic joker to narrate with our lives. I'm not scared, was paranoid for a bit, but I know I'm not delusional. This awareness is real and it's rather bothersome/annoying. I don't like Fate manipulating me and placing me in incriminating and paradoxical positions. Is there something I have to learn or teach? Is there any particular magic word or thought-mantra or to do list? I need answers! I tried meditating and calling for my spirit guide, but I get nonsensical dreams and dejavu instead. |

Yes, I now have a theory about synchronicity - gained from my own observation and experience. I experience a LOT of synchronicity, or what some would call 'coincidence'. But these experiences seem to run in cycles for me. Like out of the blue, I'll experience one synchronicity after another pretty intensely, then there will be none to very little for a time. I've noticed that prior to something big or significant happening in my life, this cycle of synchronicity will begin. When I notice it happening now, I know something is coming. It's kind of like a harbinger of sorts. Also, if some big emotional thing happens in my life, it will be accompanied by these synchonicities for a while. Like when I recently lost my cat of twenty years and was greiving so badly, they began to happen. I felt like it was my guides and angels speaking to me then, comforting me and just letting me know they were there and caring for me. I love it when it starts because the synchronicities are always so entertaining and almost magical - fun to experience and now I have learned to notice them when they happen, and can carry special messages or meaning to me. They are DEFINITELY NOT coincidences. |

Personally, I think synchronicity is a gift that your unconscious mind presents to you when you practice getting consciously in rapport with it. It's like when you dream. When you deliberately and consciously ask your dreams for something: information, insight, entertainment, whatever -- your unconscious mind says to itself, GREAT! Let's go ahead and create a connection that is really easy to spot, like a dream pun, an "aha" or lucid moment, a signpost to something that you had in unconscious storage, like where you put the remote, that gets pointed to in your dream. In the same way, in waking life, when you start to practice getting your conscious and unconscious in rapport (and funnily enough, you might not yet be aware consciously that you are doing it! In other words, you can do it on purpose! |

I found this site through a Google alert for synchronicity. My husband and I are authors who are writing a book on the topic and started the blog as research. I noticed that several people had questions about synchronicity. We invite you to visit our blog -www.ofscarabs.blogspot.com - and send us your synchronicity stories. We would be delighted to post them and/or use them in our book. Many thanks, Trish MacGregor |

haha OH. well if these are my guides and angels speaking to me, it feels like they're throwing curveballs at me that I barely manage to catch. I've experienced big emotional things that have happened in my life, and oh boy was that an adventure that lead me to healing because I felt so emotionally ripped. Was that REALLY necessary though? Couldn't I have a magically narrated life without satire? Oh yes, but I am thankful for its perfect timing. It's funny. Why remind me though? I've made wishes in the past, be it my subconscious talking, and they've in someways have come true. Like, when I was little I've always wanted those little cute puppies, but my dad was like...no you're too young, you don't know responsibility, blah blah blah. Then, at 11, my dad remarried, and in came my stepmom's two adorable looking puppies...silky terriers that are 10 years old. One is blind, the other has no teeth. So, yes I did get what I want..sort of. Or in middle school, there was this guy i had a huggggee crush on. I made a wish to get to know him more, and next thing you know, I'm in every single one of his classes-same math table, lab partners, homeroom table, PE group. That was interesting, but rather annoying. I am all for reality shifts. Yes, magical puns...are amusing. However, is there a reason why my subconscious could have such a powerful effect in my life? Does everyone have that ability? I would think that they do. We are the architects of our own fate, I would like to believe. |

and if we are the architects of our own fate, would there be someone else's subconscious that does seek ill of me and happens to be more effective in putting roadblocks or 'learning experiences' in my life. or is that not possible.

Well, I have my own theory about this as well, not really a theory as much as it just works for me... I always wonder, during my spiritual journey whether I am placing faith in nothing, or if I am just crazy. The synchronicity helps me to remember that this connection with a higher power is REAL, and WILL work in my life. It is just showing me to keep connected. It's not really significant for me other than that little point...which is actually EXTREMELY significant. But I don't look into it much more than that. Every time I have a really profound thought, I hear a train whistle..no matter where I am, whether in the distance or if I'm driving, I'll suddenly have a profound thought near a train track, and then it goes down and I have to wait. Even if I am away at a location or something, there will be a reference to the whistle. Like it will play in a song or on television. One time, I didn't hear a train whistle, but I saw the little wooden instrument you blow into that sounds exactly like a train whistle (I don't know if you know what that is)while I was having a great thought, so that was significant. One time I was thinking about the planet Jupiter while taking a walk on my school campus, walked into a building, and there was a huge trash receptacle with the word "JUPITER" painted on it. WHAT IS THAT?!?!?!??! I figure if experiences like this can pervade into my PHYSICAL life, if there are little things in the world that only I will understand, then that is a sign that my spiritual journey is not in vain.

Yeah, that happens to me too. Oh, not the whistle part. The thought--manifestation. It shows that the universe must have some sort of order in order for it to operate....and make miracles, belief, faith, hope have its meaning...if that makes sense. Yup. Like Lantana said, these things often run in cycles for me, though I think they are happening more frequently now. Burlesque-related synchronocities are occuring a lot lately, a sign to me that this is the right direction to keep moving in. For instance, I had *just* sent an email to the coordinator at a coffeehouse I sometimes set up shows at about doing a burlesque workshop this summer (thus taking the big step of moving out of the "I might" and into the "this is going to happen" stage). Not five minutes later, I got an email from a friend in my salsa group asking if I know of some place to take burlesque classes as her coworker had just asked her. I also posted on my blog a bit back about looking at a video from last year's Hot Mama Burlesque show that Mamapalooza had taped and then getting an email from them out of the blue (I had never gotten an email from them before btw) the very next day asking about taping the upcoming show. These sorts of things happen to me all the time LOL. I quite enjoy it, and I think I must be doing something right lately as they are happening more frequently. They always make me smile at the universe. |

I was first introduced to the term "synchronicity" by reading Carl Jung. I believe he is the person who first coined the term, although others before him certainly discussed the ideas therein. As I understand Jung's point of view, synchronicity is the universe acting in favor of your deepest desires (conscious or unconscious). Defining "universe" is the tricky part. Is "universe" just another way of saying "God," "Source," "Mother," "Father," etc.? What if I think of "universe" as being as finite as a synapse? Would I be in control then? Seeking spiritual truth always leads back to the idea of free will vs. determinism. When I feel free, I'm often confronted with something that feels fatalistic. When I feel like a victim of fate and pretederminism, I'm confronted with my ability to shape, change, control my own destiny. What force is really at work? I don't know. I do know that synchronicities are temporary moments. They rarely indicate a lasting truth for me. To me, synchronicities serve as hints at the psychic potential of my own mind. The synchronicities I predict make me feel like some sort of knower or medium. The ones I don't predict serve to remind me of the interconnnectedness I feel with everything earthly, and often energy itself. The slightest thought creates a ripple that anyone could feel. Synchronicities are hints at our own cognitive potential. Synchronicities are clues to our true desire. Synchronicities are reminders of our free will and our fate. It's as though we are free, but something wants us on a certain path. Is that something "us," some aspect of our composite selves, or something external from us. From my experience with astral projection and other forms of spiritual travel, I think that we are all composed of multiple "selves." It is my opinion that a "guide" is not an external entity, but rather a member of our consciousness team. We can add members to this team (and maybe lose members too). Some synchronicities help us find our team. Those are some of my thoughts at least. I will stop babbling now. |

Are you with the idea that we create our own reality? (then does it not make sense that you pull your own puppet strings.. that the coincidences or really synchronicity's are just you working on you?) Understand that under the terms answers I will give you some.. When we come here do we have a plan before we come? Yes Do you have to follow that plan? Absolutely not.. free choice is allowed.. You should try not to see the things in life happening to you from a "cosmic joker" after all that is a somewhat negative description.. you are calling the portion of you; the inner-self.. I would try and think more positively about yourself and trust that YOU know what you are DOING.. Is there something I have to learn or teach? How about launching your preferences on what you like and don't like in the universe.. don't insist you can't have that EXPERIENCE.. but when you have a pleasant day or a pleasant person.. say that is of my preference.. I prefer this.. And try not to reject the self.. a whole lot of people in this reality.. do that already.. try and learn from them; not be one of them.. | ||

I like to think of synchronicities as messages from my angels/spirit guides. A little "Hang in there". I really hope, though, that they mean something is coming. Last week I got inundated with synchronicities that suddenly dropped off (until I saw a bunch of "110" combinations the other day), that I hope mean something's coming. |
