Hi, I am relatively new to the world of spirits and this is also my first post. I read about the "21 floors in elevator - 21 steps" meditation exercise by Erin Pavlina to connect to your higher self. I tried this a couple of times but everytime after going down the steps and opening the door, I couldnt see anything. It was pitch dark. Also because there was nothing, I think I started to create people with my imagination. I started to think there is someone to guide me to the room. Nothing helped and everything was vague. I kind of felt I was lost. I do know that I am new to this and so practice is important. But I was wondering if anyone had such experiences when they started practicing this meditation. Any tips/suggestions and truly appreciated. Thanks, Absvan |

Don't worry so much about what you see; senses are just a means of presenting a metaphor. Put your attention instead on what you feel and eliminate all expectations. Try to draw your awareness around your heart center and become aware of your whole body and feel the life in it. Then, keeping your mind relaxed, open up to the awareness that is behind all thoughts and sensations, realizing that it is you and all you're trying to do is unstop the flow from your original self.

Thank you Andy. Sometimes while meditating, my heart beats loud. Its not fast but very loud like THUD THUD THUD.....I keep breathing concentrating on my stomach and the flow of the breath. Its helps a bit. Later I try to withdraw from the feeling like an observer - "The heart is beating". Do you have any thoughts on this? |
