new at psychism

Hi,
I am new here at psychism.....I read some very inspiring books and thought about certain strange things happening to me and thought this is my new path.
I however have no exchange partner...my partner thinks this is nutts, i have lost my sanity! so poor me standing all alone out there.
I have been meditating for a long time now and tried a few exc for telepathy which initially did work and then after a week just stopped to function guess too much stress at home.
I just want to say hello to all of you and ask those of you who have been doing psychic work without being born with the ability to share their experience and how long it took you to develop blah blah . I will take that all as a big MOTIVATION!

I didn't know I had psychic abilities until I was 21 and I had no sweet clue before that. Everything came at me all at once it was very abrupt.

One thing that did enhance my psychic abilities was getting together with others who were into spirituality and they raised my vibration to another level.

When I got my Reiki level 1 my clairvoyant intuition got stronger. I have heard of others who have done the same.

I know what its like to feel alone in spiritual development. There are lots of spiritual groups out there... I recommend finding one in your area. This forum is great for that too but real human contact with others is better.

Attending services at spiritulist churches and learning to open up as well as understanding more helped me, keeping an open mind and meditation, especally meditations with the intent of contacting ones spirit guides.

I recommend shopping around for groups/teachers/experiences that you are in affinity with. I tried training in many modalities until I found a way of working that really worked for me. There's a lot of information out there, and lots of different ways to work with energy. Find the one that works for you, and don't hesitate to change or seek out something different if it's not working any more!

I would recommend you learn about chakra's and raising your vibration. Erin has alot of interesting and helpful information pertaining to these subjects in her blogs.

A few things to exercise your telepathic/psychic muscles.
(If you do not have a partner to do this with..you can do it alone.)

Playing cards..have someone flip a card over and send the picture to you mentally..you guess what it is. (if you do not have a partner..do this yourself...guess before you flip the card over) make two piles. You will find that as time passes that your "correct" pile gets larger every time. (Sometimes we do this facing each other..and sometimes we do this back to back, sitting indian style on the floor.)

Dice...You can either try to predict what will turn up on a roll, or practice controlling the dice to roll what it is you want to come up. You will find this exercise will expand and strengthen your abilities.

My kids, like to play "whats in this box, Mom?" they run around the house and find stuff to shove in a box and other things to make shaking it, impossible to determine what is inside. They want me to guess what is in the box..the item, and what they used to disguise the shaking hints...They came up with this, because they were dumbfounded with how accurate I can do this, just by touching the box.

They also like to play.."what color, shape, number am I thinking?" (we used to just do crayola 8 pack colors..now we are up to the 64 pack..lol)The more we play this..the better we get. We take turns often, so that there is no burn-out. Just a few minutes a day will help tone your psychic ability, without exhausting yourself.

Last but not least..as Long as the Pavlina's keep this forum open, you are NOT ALONE!!!! No matter how strange your abilities seem, or how judged you feel by people face to face in your life...for having your abilities...this forum will convince you real fast, that there are others out there that share your interests and support you 100% in your growth.

I must say that there will always be a few people trying to convert or judge...this is not the forum's fault. There is someone like this in every bunch. For the most part...this is a wonderful group of people willing to share their own experiences openly with one another...with a very open mind.

Hi Big C

Do you attend a spiritualist church? I have heard that this is a great place to go, if you are gifted and surrounded by christians that do not understand, accept or support you...A Shaman actually recommended it to me, so I know this is a good start.

My question for you..if you do attend one..is there a resource available thru your spiritualist church that lists the names and locations of other spiritualist churches? I am trying to locate one in Southeast Michigan to no avail.

If you have access to a directory..or a link to one, can you please share with us? If there is no link but a directory in your church office, can you please PM me with the information?
