Sometimes I have dreams that predict future events or places or even people. I don't get it as much as I used to, maybe I was more at harmony with the world or something before. For example I had a dream once that me and a friend were driving and were in a T intersection making a left. Then brown car blew through the intersection and hit my friends car, killing both of us. A couple months after this dream, the same event happened except the car didn't hit us. Same intersection, same car, everything; it really freaked me out. Also I'll have dreams of meeting people before I see them; like I had a friend introduce me to one of his friends from college, he looked exactly like he did in my dream and there was even an argument going on at the table next to us, which I also dreamt about, but in my dream the people got into a fight and we had to step in. Does this mean anything or that I have some kind of psychic ability? Just curious to know. Also I can read in my dreams, which someone told me means something? Not sure if that's true, but let me know.

I have had precognative dreams as well, some of which included details that were so spot-on it was downright creepy. I am not sure what triggers these dreams or how they work. I have heard tell that some cultures believe that dreams that occur during Twelvethnight (the 12 days after the Winter Equinox) can be prophetic, predicting events that will hapen during the next 12 months. I have experienced this myself, but have also had these dreams at other times as well. As far as reading in dreams, supposedly reading is a right-brain function, while dreaming is a left-brain function, so there could be some significance there. Are you left-handed?

No, I'm right handed. Yeah, I heard somewhere that it means something if you can read in your dreams because exactly like you said, dreaming is a left-brain function. I get dreams like that all throughout the year. Haven't experienced any recently, but I've also been having a hard time remembering my dreams lately. Thanks for the response though.

Whenever I read in dreams, its like I don't even see the words, I just see a page with lots of blurry lines on it and the words go straight into my head. In fact the only thing I remember reading in a dream was the name of a shop, and probably only because it was in huge letters (big enough that I flew up and sat on them) |

It's strange, I mean I can actually read all types of things in my dreams. They don't necessarily have to be large. I'm curious if there's other people out there who can do this or maybe know if it means something?

That definitely sounds pretty creepy and kinda scary! I've never had anything like that happen, but I don't generally remember my dreams that much. The closest thing that happened to me was about 2 months ago I had a dream where I saw this guy's face very, very clearly up close. My dreams are generally pretty fuzzy in my memory, so this was really weird. I had a feeling that I was going to see who ever that person was in real life since I had seen him so clearly and could remember his features. Sure enough, later that day, I had to take my kids to get their passport photos taken at the CVS and the guy taking the photos looked like the guy in my dream! Now, it's possible I had seen that guy at the store before, but I don't recall it as he worked in the photo section where I don't usually go. Was nothing spectactular, but interesting nonetheless! |

Sounds interesting, I've read that all of the people that populate our dreams we have seen in the real world. Supposedly, even if we don't remember how the person looks in our waking life; when we dream those people look exactly like they do in real life.

When I was young I used to have premonition type dreams, I can only recall one though, in the dream I was playing in my garden near some flowers and this white butterfly flew past me, that very next day that exact scene played out in front of me. Very cool.

I'm used to (but never enjoy) dreams of loved one deaths. Most were unexpected deaths- accidents, some just subconscous expressions of something i already knew but was too "stupid" to figure out. (Eg., I dreamed that my guinea pig cuddled up and went limp, breathing his last. The next day he cuddled up ...and then just like in the dream... died. He was really was getting old, but did i notice?) These dreams are warnings to help us accept the inevitable, and perhaps say some last words to those about to leave this astral plane. I regret that I did not phone up my Ex to ask how life was treating him after one of these dreams. I ignored my instincts, and before I knew it he died of a massive heart attack. I guess life is about learning hard lessons, anyway.
