Default I am Violent and Mean In My Dreams

I tend to have very vivid (perhaps lucid?) dreams in which I become a completely different person than who I am in real life. In these dreams I become violent, rude, and mean.

Last night I was dreaming that I was walking completely naked around a local University campus. Then I walked into a classroom and started smashing everyone's iPhones and Blackberrys (not the cheaper phones).

Other recent dreams include me fondling and having sex with co-workers or famous women. I also remember dreaming recently that I was beating up former President Bush until he was bloody all over.

Another weird aspect of these dreams is that I wake up laughing out loud, as if I was enjoying whatever I was doing.

I am not violent at all in real life, and would never hurt anybody on purpose.

Should I be paying closer attention to these dreams? Could they mean something more? Or should just enjoy my night alter ego?

I'm sorry I can't help you, but I can tell for sure that having dreams of sex with your coworkers/famous women is nothing bad.

And neither is beating up on W. Take it easy on the iPhones though.

Maybe I should be serious. Do you have any resentment about your present situation in regards to finances, politics, or sex life? You could be releasing your frustrations in your dreams instead of your waking life. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but if you want the dreams to stop, it might help to find a friend or family member to vent to.

You see you are saying that you actually enjoy yourself in these dreams. I think they are just the manifestations of your suppressed feelings.

Maybe you want to be better known, more confident, stronger or have some other qualities. Therefore that manifests in your dreams.

I used to have extremely violent dreams too. I would basically kill people in them. I remember this one where I repeatedly smashed this person's head against the concrete until it was pulpish, soft and bloody. In my dreams, the people were antagonizing me in one way or another. Maybe they were trying to steal my car or just starting a fight with me. But one thing I remember for sure, it creeped me out what I had done in the dream when I woke up and for the rest of the day.

I think I was particularly angry during that time, probably at a pretty high frustration level in my life too. I still have some anger and frustration, but it has toned down quite a bit since then. I came to my own conclusion about dreams. I really pay attention to the tone and my feelings in them. Also the feelings attached to them while I'm awake. Then I disect the dreams from there.

I wouldn't worry too much about dreams having anything to do with what you're capable of (if that's what you're worried about, I'm not sure if it is or not) . That is, I doubt that this is some sort of alter-ego that lies beneath in waiting. I used to have these sex dreams where I would just look for someone, ANYONE, to have sex with. I remember grabbing some filthy, toothless homeless guy and just being so sexually gratified even when I woke up. I woke up like "yeah, sex, whoohoo!" then I would realize what I had done in the dream and gross out pretty badly. What you do in dreams much of the time is so completely different than what you would ever do in reality.

Being naked in dreams is usually associated with being vulnerable and exposed. Anger or humiliation are the emotions that usually accompany that state.

Has someone betrayed an intimacy and exposed something very private?
