I can read tarot...but tarot can't read me!

I've been getting readings for years, mostly tarot and plain psychic/clarivoyant. I also started reading cards when I was 16. I'm starting up a website in about a month with taroscopes and readings available to the public. I also have been studying astrology for about a year.

Now...here's the paradox of the whole thing. I can give excellent readings...but I can't get them.

It seems that Spirit always pulls the rug out from under me when I get a reading from anyone. If the reader says that the guy I'm with is great for me, and that we have a future, we'll break up pretty soon afterward. If they say that I should get a job working for someone, I'll either be unemployed for a long amount of time, or I land in a horrible work situation.

Also, readings seem so vague and open-ended a lot of the time to me. This may seem silly, but I want answers, not inconclusive things that leave me hanging I try not to do this with the people that I read. I more try to do it therapeutically, I guess? I know that I hate being left there, thinking, "Maybe this is what she meant? Or, is it this? Or, or...uhhhhhh." Nothing is more irritating than something that's so crytic that it loses all meaning. It leaves me frustrated at the end, and also feeling like I just wasted my time.

I don't think I've ever gotten a reading that stuck, came out in the end, and made any sense. If the cards say one thing, the opposite will happen. Like clockwork. Or, I've been able to make the cards fall the way that I want them to. When I wanted to work wardrobe on the Nine Inch Nails tour, for instance, the clairvoyant/psychic said that it was a sure thing, sent me his management's info (she also happened to have worked in PR in Cali, and did the psychic thing on the side), and...nothing. And I wasn't applying because I'm a squeeing fangirl. I have a great resume, and I haven't toured yet, and that would be a rockin' show. She pulled what I wanted her to pull, and saw what I wanted her to see. This woman was a psychic that's done major TV shows.

What's funny is that I just wrote to Erin about getting a reading. Uh oh. Maybe you should disregard my note...I may drive you to drink.

When I do astrology, even, I can't take anything predictive seriously. I love evolutional astrology, which means that it's mostly about the building blocks of the personality and life of the querant, but relationship and predictive just seem so apt to be read in the way you want to read them.

I've been told that I see things in black and white too often. It's true, and I'm trying to get out of that habit. But what am I to do about this? If anyone else is a reader around here, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Also, does anyone have any tips for getting rid of a tarot deck that's pretty much betrayed you by giving you false information? I'd be grateful for the help!

I'm not sure this is the correct explanation, but perhaps when someone tells you about your future you feel a loss of control so you subconsciously work to sabotage the predicted results so you can reassert control over your own destiny. Did that make sense?

Also, it's hard to read for yourself sometimes. So doing tarot readings for yourself can be difficult.

I have great success reading for other psychic people, so I'll be interested to see what happens during our reading.

Also, when a psychic tells you something will happen, there are other people's wills involved. Any one of them doing someting can change the energy and your flow and cause what was predicted not to happen. I usually warn my clients when I'm doing a reading that what I see is a strong possibility, an expected outcome, but that they can always change their course if their will is strong enough.

Right...no, I see what you're saying, Erin. That could be; I know that I have subconscious issues with control. I never thought of it that way.
